Joseph Tells His Brothers Who He Is |
Genesis 45:1-28 The First Book of Moses Called Genesis |
Joseph couldn’t [restrain] himself [in front of those who] stood by him & he cried [out, Have] every man go out from me. And there was no man with him, while Joseph made himself known to his brothers. And [Joseph] wept [so loudly;] that the Egyptians & the house of the Pharaoh heard [it]. |
[He told] his [brothers,] I am Joseph, does your father [still] alive? His brothers couldn't answer, [because] they were troubled [by] his presence. And Joseph said to his [brothers,] I pray [that] you come near me & they came near. |
And he said, I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. Now, [don’t] be grieved [or] be angry with yourselves, that you sold me [here], because God sent me before you to preserve life. For these 2 years, the famine has been in the land & [still] there are 5 years [without plowing or] harvest. |
And God sent me to preserve a posterity [for] you in the [world] & to save your lives by a great deliverance. So it wasn’t you [who] sent me [here,] but God & He has made me [like a] father to Pharaoh & [the] lord of all his house & a [ruler] throughout the land of Egypt. |
[Hurry] & go up to my father & say to him, Josons, your son says [this,] God has made me [the] lord of all of Egypt. Come down to me & [don't delay.] And you shall [live] in the land of Goshen & you shall be near me, you & your children, your children's children, your flocks & herds & all you have. |
And there, I will nourish you; for there [still] are 5 years of famine; lest you & your household & all that you have come to poverty. And [look with] your eyes & see [in] the eyes of my brother, Benjamin, that it is [really I, who] speaks to you. |
And you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt & of all that you have seen. And you shall [hurry] & bring down my father [to here.] [Then Joseph hugged,] his brother, [Benjamin's] neck & [they both] wept. |
[Then Joseph] kissed all his [brothers] & wept. After that, his [brothers] talked with him. And the [report of this] was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's [brothers have] come. And [this] pleased Pharaoh & his servants well. |
Pharaoh said to Joseph, Say to your [brothers,] Do this, [load up] your animals & go, to the land of Goshen. And take your father & your households & I will give you the [best] of the land of Egypt & you shall eat [of] the fat of the land. |
Now, you are commanded to do this; take wagons [for yourselves form] the land of Egypt for your little ones, your wives & bring your father & come. Also, [don't be concerned about] your stuff ; for the [best] of all the land of Egypt is yours. And the children of Israel [a.k.a. Jacob] did so. |
And Joseph gave them wagons, according to [Pharaoh's command] & gave them provisions for the [trip.] He gave each man [a change of clothes,] but to Benjamin, he gave 5 changes [of clothing] & 300 pieces of silver. |
[Joseph] sent to his father: 10 [donkeys loaded] with the good things of Egypt & 10 [female donkeys loaded with: grain & food] for his father [to eat by the road on the trip to Egypt.] |
So [Joseph] said to [his brothers,] See that you [don't be discouraged on the road there.] [Joseph] sent his [brothers] away & they [left.] And they went up out of Egypt & came into the land of Cannon, to their father, Jacob [a.k.a. Israel.] |
[When they first told Jacob/Israel, they said,] Joseph is still] alive & he is the governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacobs' heart [failed him, because] he [didn’t] believe them. |
[After they explained what Joseph had said to them & he saw the wagons that Joseph sent to carry him, [Jacob's] spirit revived. And Israel [a.k.a. Jacob] said, It is enough [that] Joseph, my son, is [still] alive. I will go & see him before I die. |
The Lord God had writing Books of the Bible [in Smaller Chunks] on my heart, for those in our busy world, with [smaller chunks of time]. More posts will be added when completed!
About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible:
About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:
Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV.
Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning.
For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.
The Table Format:
The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.
