About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:

Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV. Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning. For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.

The Table Format:

The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.

As for the [offering] of the firstfruits, they shall not be burned on the altar for a sweet [aroma]. If you offer a [meat/grain] offering of your firstfruits to the Lord, you shall offer green ears of corn dried by the fire, or corn [removed from the cob].

It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that you eat neither fat nor blood.

Sin Offering to the Lord

Leviticus 4:1-35            The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord spoke to Moses to [tell the Israelites], If a [person] shall sin through ignorance of any of the commandments of the Lord & does anything that [shouldn’t] have been done against any of them. [Or] if the anointed priest sins according to the sin of the people.

[Or] if the whole congregation sins through ignorance against the commandments of the Lord & the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly & they did something that [shouldn’t] be done & are guilty.

When the sin is known, then let him/them bring for their sin a young bull without blemish to the Lord for a sin offering.

[Or] when a ruler has sinned & done something through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord his God, concerning things that shouldn’t be done & is guilty or the sin comes to his knowledge, he shall bring a male kid goat without blemish for a sin offering.

If any of the common people sin through ignorance & does something against the commandments of the Lord concerning things that shouldn’t be done & is guilty, [Or] his sin comes to his knowledge, he shall bring his offering, a female, kid goat without blemish for his sin which he has [done].

[Whether the sin offering is a bull, goat, or lamb] it is brought to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, before the Lord. [The one/ones who have done the offense] shall lay [their] hands on the [animal’s] head & kill [it] before the Lord.

[In the case of the whole congregation sinning against the commandment of the Lord, the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bull before the Lord & it shall be killed before the Lord.]

The priest that is anointed shall take the [animal’s] blood & take it to the tabernacle of the congregation: The priest shall dip his finger in the blood & sprinkle the blood 7 times before the Lord, before the veil of the sanctuary.

The priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense, before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation. He shall pour all the [remaining] blood of the [animal] at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

He shall take off from [the animal] all the fat for the sin offering; the fat that covers the [internal parts] & the fat on them, the 2 kidneys & the fat on them by the flanks & the fatty lobe attached to the liver by the kidneys & he shall take it away.

The priest shall make atonement for [their] sin & it shall be forgiven [them].

Various Offerings Made to the Lord

Leviticus 5:1-19    The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

If a [person] sins & hears an [oath] & is a witness [of] whether he has seen or knows of it & doesn’t [tell] it, he bears his guilt. Or if a person swears an [oath rashly] with his lips to do evil or to do good & he is unaware of it.

When he [realizes] his guilt in any of these things, he shall confess his sin. Or if [a person touches] any unclean thing, whether [it’s] a carcass of an unclean beast, [livestock], or unclean creeping things or if he touches any human uncleanness [that may defile a man] & he is unaware of it].

When he [realizes] his guilt in any of these things, he shall confess his sin. He shall bring a trespass offering to the Lord for his sin he has [done of a:] female lamb or kid goat without blemish, for a sin offering & the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.

If he [isn’t] able to bring a lamb, he shall bring 2 turtle doves or 2 young pigeons,1 for a sin offering & the other for a burnt offering to the Lord. He shall bring them to the priest, who shall offer [the]1 for the sin offering 1st & wring off [its] head from [its] neck, but shall not divide it [apart].

[The priest] shall sprinkle the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar & the rest of the blood should be wrung out at the bottom of the altar. It is a sin offering. He shall offer the 2nd according to the manner for burnt offerings & the priest shall make an atonement for his sin, which he has [done] & it shall be forgiven him.

If he [isn’t] able to bring 2 turtle doves or 2 young pigeons, then the person [who sinned] shall bring for his sin offering; 1/10 of an ephah of fine flour with no oil [on] it, neither shall he put any frankincense [on it]: for it is a sin offering.

Then he shall bring it to the priest [who] will take his memorial handful of it & burn it on the altar according to the offerings made by fire to the Lord. It is a sin offering. The priest shall make an atonement [for] his sin in one of these & it shall be forgiven him & the [rest] shall be the priest’s, as a meat offering.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, If [the person] commits a trespass & sins [unaware]  [to pay the things to be devoted] to the Lord, then he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with [an] estimation of silver, after the the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering.

He shall make amends for [the failure of his payment] for the Lord & shall add a 1/5 part [to it] & give it to the priest [who] shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering & it shall be forgiven him.

If [a person sins] & [commits] any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord, though he [didn’t] know it, yet he is guilty & shall bear his [guilt].

He shall bring the priest a ram without blemish [from] the flock with your estimation [of silver] for a trespass offering to the priest.

The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his ignorance [in which] he erred & [didn’t] know it & it shall be forgiven him. It is a trespass offering; he has certainly trespassed against the Lord.

Various Sins and Restitution

Leviticus  6:1-30      The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, If a [person] sins & commits a trespass against the Lord & lies to his neighbor [about what] was delivered for him to keep [for him], or in [making contracts], or something taken away by violence, or has deceived his neighbor, or [finding] what was lost & lies concerning it & swears falsely, in any of these [things a man does & sins in it].

Then it shall be, because he sinned & is guilty that he shall restore what he [has stolen], deceitfully gotten, or what he kept of what was given to him [for safekeeping], or the lost things he found, or what he swore [about] falsely.

He shall restore its [full value] & add 1/5 more to it & give it to [the person it belongs] to, [on] the day of his trespass offering to the Lord, [which is] a ram without blemish of the flock, with your estimation [of silver] as a trespass offering, [given] to the priest. The priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord & it shall be forgiven him for any of his trespasses.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Command Aaron & his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: because of fire of the altar, burning it on the altar all night until the morning. The priest shall put on his linen garment & linen [trousers underneath] on his flesh. [He] shall take up the ashes which the fire consumed of the burnt offering on the altar.

He shall [take] off his [holy] garments & put on other [clothing] & carry the ashes [outside] the camp into a clean place. The fire on the altar shall not be put out & the priest shall burn wood on it every morning & lay the burnt offering in order upon it. He shall burn the fat of the peace offering [on it] & the altar shall never go out.

This is the law of the [meat/grain] offering & [Aaron’s] son shall offer it before the Lord before the altar. [The priest] shall take [a] handful of the flour of the [meat/grain] offering & the oil [for it] & all the frankincense whis is upon the [meat/grain] offering. [He] shall burn it on the altar for a sweet [aroma as] a memorial of it to the Lord.

[What’s left] shall be Aaron & his son’s to eat with unleavened bread. It shall be eaten in the holy place in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation. It shall not be baked with leaven [yeast]. I have given it to [the priests] for their portion of My offerings made by fire.

It is most holy, as is the sin offering & the trespass offering, [as well]. All the males of [Aaron’s] children shall eat it. It shall be a statute forever in your generations concerning the offerings of the Lord made by fire [that] everyone who touches them shall be holy.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses saying, This is the offering [for] Aaron & his sons [that] they shall offer to the Lord on the day he is anointed. [A] 1/10 of an ephah of fine flour, for a perpetual [meat/grain] offering: 1/2 in the morning & 1/2 at night. It shall be made with oil in a pan & when it is [baked], you shall bring it in.

The [baked] pieces of the [meat/grain] offering you shall offer for a sweet [aroma] to the Lord. [Aaron’s] son [who] is anointed to [take his place] shall offer it. It is a statute forever to the Lord & it shall be completely burned & shall not be eaten.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Speak to Aaron & his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering. In the place where the burnt offering [animal] is killed, the sin offering [animal] shall be killed [there] before the Lord: it is most holy.

The priest [who] offers it for [the] sins, shall eat it: in the holy place in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation, it shall be eaten there. [Whoever] touches the [flesh/meat of it] shall be holy.

[When the priests sprinkle the blood of the offering] & it gets on a [holy] garment, you shall wash it in the holy place. The earthen [clay] vessel it is [boiled] in, shall be broken, but if it is [boiled] in a [brass] pot, it shall be both scoured & rinsed in water.

All the males of the priest’s [family] shall eat of [it]: it is most holy. [On the occasion when the] sin offering is brought into the tabernacle of the congregation [with the blood to make atonement] in the holy place, [no one shall eat it] & it shall be burnt with fire.

The Laws for Different Types of Offerings

Leviticus 7:1-38                    The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

[The Lord said to Moses], Likewise this is the law of the trespass offering: it is most holy. In the [same] place where the burnt offering is [killed] they shall kill the trespass offering & the blood [of it] the [priest] shallprink [around on] the altar.

He shall offer all the fat [of it]; the rump & the fat that covers the [internal parts] & the fat on them, the 2 kidneys & the fat on them by the flanks & the fatty lobe attached to the liver by the kidney & he shall take it away. The priest shall burn them upon the altar for an offering made by fire to the Lord: It is a trespass offering.

Every male among the [priest's family] may eat it in a holy place. It is most holy. [Just as] the sin offering is [done], so shall the trespass offering [be done]. There is one law for them [both]. The priest who makes atonement ]with it], shall have it.  The priest [who] offers any man’s burnt offering, the skin [shall belong to that priest].

All the [meat/grain] offering baked in an oven, all that is [prepared] in a frying pan & in a pan, shall [belong] to the priest [who] offered it. Every [meat/grain] offering, [either mixed] with oil [or] dry [without oil], shall belong to Aaron’s son, 1 as much as another.

This is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer to the Lord. If he [offers] it [in thankfulness for mercies received], then he shall offer with the thanksgiving offering unleavened cakes [mixed] with oil, unleavened, wafers anointed with oil & cakes of fine flour [mixed] with oil & fried.

[In addition to] the cakes, he shall offer unleavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings. Of it, he shall offer 1 [each of the 4 kinds of cakes] of the whole [offering] for a heave offering to the Lord, [which] shall [belong] to the priest [who] sprinkles the blood of the peace offerings & it shall be eaten the same day it is offered & not left until morning.

If the sacrifice of his offering is [for] a vow or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he [offers] his sacrifice & it can be eaten the [next day] the remainder shall be eaten. The [rest] shall be burnt with fire on the 3rd day.

If any of the flesh [meat] of his sacrifice [for] his peace offering [hasn’t been eaten] by the 3rd day, it shall not be accepted & is an abomination [rotting starts] & the [person who offered it will be responsible] & the [person who] eats it will bear his guilt.

The flesh [meat] that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten & shall be burnt with fire. [If] the [cooked] flesh [meat that hasn’t become defiled], all who are clean [priest, person who offers it, family, etc.]may eat it [but not in a holy place].

[If someone] has an uncleanness or [touches] any uncleanness of man, beast,  or any abominable unclean thing & eats the flesh [meat] of the sacrifice of peace offerings which pertains to the Lord, shall be cut off from his people.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Speak to the children [people] of Israel, saying, You shall not eat [any type] of fat of ox, sheep, or goat. The fat of the best that dies [on its own] or the fat of [the animal] torn by a beast, may be used [for other things], but [may not be eaten]. [Whoever] eats the fat of the beast offered in an offering made by fire to the Lord, shall be cut off from his people.

[Also], you shall not eat [any type] of blood, whether it’s of [birds] or beasts, in any of your dwellings. The person who eats [anything with the blood], shall be cut off from his people.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Speak to the [people] of Israel, saying, [The person who] offers his sacrifice of his peace offering [voluntarily] to the Lord made by fire shall bring his offering with his own hands, the fat with the breast, he shall bring, [so] the breast may be waved for a wave offering.

The priest shall burn the fat on the altar, but the breast shall be Aaron’s & his sons, while the priest [who] offered the fat & the blood of the peace offerings, shall have the right shoulder for his [portion].

For I [the Lord God] have taken the wave breast & the heave shoulder from the [people] of Israel [from] their sacrifices & peace offerings to be given to Aaron, the priest & his sons by a statute forever throughout their generations.

This is Aaron’s & his son’s [portion given to them by God on the day of their anointing] of the offerings [to] the Lord made by fire [for those who] minister to the Lord in the priest’s office.

[These chapters] have the laws of the burnt offering, sin offering, the [meat/grain] offering, sin offering, trespass offering & the consecrations & the sacrifice of peace offerings which the Lord commanded Moses at Mt. Sinai in the wilderness of Sinai, [on] the day He [Lord God] commanded the [people] of Israel to [bring their] offerings to the Lord.

Anointing Aaron and His Sons as Priests

Leviticus 8:1-36          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [told] Moses to, Take Aaron, his sons, the garments, anointing oil, a bull for the sin offering, 2 rams & a basket of unleavened bread & gather all the congregation together at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, & Moses [did so].

Moses told the congregation that this is what the Lord commanded to be done. Moses brought Aaron & his sons & washed them with water.

[Then Moses] put the coat on him & girded [Aaron] with the girdle [sash], clothed him with the robe, put the ephod [decorative vestment of high priests] on him & girded him with an [skillfully woven band] of the ephod & [tied] it on [Aaron there].

[Moses] put the breastplate upon him & put the Urim & the Thummim in the breastplate & the [turban] on his head & on [the front] he put a golden [engraved] plate, the holy crown; as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Moses took the anointing oil & anointed the tabernacle & all that was [in it] & sanctified them. [Moses] sprinkled [some] on the altar 7 times & anointed the altar, all [its] vessels [utensils], both the [basin] & [its base] to sanctify them.

He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head & anointed him to sanctify him. Moses brought Aaron’s sons & put coats on them & girded them with [sashes] & put [headpieces] on them, as the Lord commanded Moses. [Moses] brought the bull for the sin offering.

[Then] Aaron & his sons laid their hands on the head of the bull for the sin offering. He [killed] it & Moses took the blood & [sprinkled] some on the horns of the altar [all around] with his finger & purified the altar & poured the blood at the bottom of the altar & sanctified it to make [atonement] upon it.

[Then] he took all the fat that was on the [internal parts] & the  [intestines] above the liver & the 2 kidneys & their fat & [Moses] burned [them] on the altar. The bull, [its] hide, [its] flesh & [its waste], he burnt with fire outside the camp, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

[Moses] brought the ram for the burnt offering & Aaron & his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram & he killed it & [Moses] sprinkled the blood [all around] upon the altar. He cut the ram into pieces & Moses burned the head, the pieces & the fat.

He washed the [internal parts] & legs in water. Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt sacrifice for a sweet [aroma] & an offering made by fire to the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses. He brought the 2nd ram [which was] the ram of consecration.

Aaron & his sons laid their hands on the ram’s head & he [killed] it. [Moses] took [some] of the blood & put it on the tips of Aaron & his son’s right ears & on their thumbs of their right hands & on the big toes of their right feet.  Moses sprinkled the blood [all around] on the altar.

[Then Moses] took the fat & the frump & all the fat on the [internal parts], the fat on the [intestines] above the liver, the 2 kidneys & their fat & the right shoulder. He took [from] the basket that was before the Lord of unleavened bread [without yeast], 1 unleavened cake, a cake of oiled bread & 1 wafer & put them on the fat on the right shoulder.

He put all [these] upon Aaron’s hands & his son’s hands & waved them as a wave offering before the Lord. [Then] Moses took them off their hands & burned them on the altar upon the burnt offering. They were [consecrated] for a sweet [aroma], an offering made by fire to the Lord. Moses took the breast & waved it for a wave offering before the Lord.

The ram of consecration was Moses’ [portion], as the Lord had commanded Moses. [Then] Moses took [some] of the oil & [some] of the blood which was on the altar & sprinkled it upon Aaron & his garments & Aaron’s sons & their garments & sanctified Aaron, his sons & [their] garments.

Moses [told] Aaron & his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation & eat it with the bread that is in the basket of consecrations, as I [the Lord God] commanded, saying, Aaron & his sons shall eat it.

[What remains] of the flesh & the bread, you shall burn with fire & shall not go outside the door of the congregation [for] 7 days, until the days of your consecration are ended. For 7 days he shall consecrate you.

As he has done this day, so the Lord has commanded to do, to make an atonement for you. Therefore you shall [stay] at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day & night for 7 days & keep the charge of the Lord, so that you [don’t] die, for so I am commanded.

So Aaron & his sons did all the things that the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses.

Aaron & His Sons Make Atonement for the Israelites

Leviticus 9:1-24    The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

On the 8th day, Moses called Aaron, his sons & the elders of Israel & said to Aaron, Take for [yourself] a young calf for a sin offering & a ram for a burnt offering, without [blemishes] & offer them before the Lord.

You shall speak to the children [people] of Israel & [say], Take a kid goat for a sin offering & calf & a lamb, both of the 1st year & without blemish for a burnt offering; Also a bull & a ram as a peace offering to sacrifice before the Lord & a [meat/grain] offering [mixed] with oil, for today the Lord will appear to you.

They brought [what] Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation & all the congregation drew near & stood before the Lord. Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commanded you [to] do & the glory of the Lord will appear to you.

Moses [told] Aaron, Go to the altar & offer your sin offering & burnt offering & make atonement yourself & for the people. Offer the offering of the people & make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded. Aaron went to the altar & [killed] the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.

[Aaron’s] sons brought the blood to him & he [Aaron] dipped his finger in the blood & put it on the horns of the altar & poured the blood at the bottom of the altar: But the fat, the kidneys & the [fatty lobe] above the liver of the sin offering, he burned on the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses. The flesh & the hide, he burned with fire outside the camp.

He [killed] the burnt offering & Aaron’s sons presented to him the blood which he sprinkled [all around] the altar. Then they presented the burnt offering to him, with [its] pieces & head & he burned them on the altar. He washed the entrails & legs & burned them on the altar. And he [washed] the [inward parts] & legs & burned them upon the burnt offering on the altar.

[Then] he brought the people’s offering & took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people & [killed] it & offered it for sin, [like] the 1st [one]. And he brought the burnt offering & offered it according to the  [appropriate] manner. [Then] he brought the [meat/grain] offering & took a handful [of it] & burned it on the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning.

He also [killed] the bull & the ram for a sacrifice of [the] peace offerings, which [were] for the people. Aaron’s sons presented the blood to him, which he  sprinkled [all around] on the altar, The fat [from] the bull & ram, the rump & the fat that covers the [internal parts] & kidneys & the fatty lobe above the liver & they put the fat upon the breasts.

He burned the fat on the altar, [but] the breasts & the right shoulder Aaron waved as a wave offering before the Lord, as Moses had commanded. [Then] Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, blessed them & came down from offering the sin offering, the burnt offering & the peace offerings.

Moses & Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation & came out & blessed the people.  [Then] the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people & fire came out from before the Lord & consumed the burnt offering & the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted & fell on their faces.

Priests Nadab & Abihu Offer Profane Fire to the Lord

Leviticus 10:1-20      The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

[Both priests] Nadab & Abihu, the sons of Aaron, [each] took his censer & put fire in it & incense on it & offered strange fire before the Lord [unlike their training by Moses to only use the fire from the altar for burnt offerings & they didn’t do, what the Lord God] had commanded them.

[So] fire went out from the Lord & devoured them & they died before the Lord. Moses [told] Aaron, This is [what] the Lord [spoke], saying, I  will be sanctified [as holy] by all [who] come near Me & I will be glorified before all the people. [So] Aaron held his peace.

Moses called Mishael & Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel, [Aaron’s] uncle & said to them, Come near & carry your brethren [out] from before the sanctuary [to] outside the camp. & they carried them in their coats outside of the camp, as Moses had said.

Moses said to Aaron & [Aaron’s sons:] Eleazar & Ithamar, [Don’t] uncover your heads & neither [tear] your clothing [in mourning, showing displeasure], lest you die & wrath come on all the people.

Let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, [show regret for the choices of the 2 who died, as warranted by this consequence of] the Lord. You shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die.

For the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you & they did according to the word of Moses. The Lord [spoke] to Aaron, saying, [Don’t] you or your sons drink wine or strong drink, when you go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die.

It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations: [So] that you may [distinguish] between [the] holy & unholy and between clean & unclean; [so] you may teach the children [people] of Israel all the statutes which the Lord has spoken to them by the hand of Moses.

Moses [spoke] to Aaron & Eleazar & Ithamar, his sons [who] are left, Take the [meat/grain] offering that remains of the offerings of the Lord made by fire & eat it without leaven [yeast] beside the altar: for it is most holy. You shall eat it in the holy place, because it is [your portion], of the sacrifices of the Lord made by fire: [as] I am commanded.

The heave shoulder & the wave breast shall [be brought] with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the Lord; & it shall be yours & your sons with you, by a statute forever, as the Lord has commanded.

You & your sons & daughters with you: shall eat [them] in a clean place, for they are [your portion] of the sacrifices of the peace offerings of the [people] of Israel. Moses diligently [searched] for the goat of the sin offering & behold, it was burnt.

[Moses] was angry with Eleazer & Ithamar, [Aaron’s] sons [who remained] alive, saying, [Why haven’t] you eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy & God has given it [to] you to bear the iniquities of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord?

Behold, the blood of it was not brought within the holy place [as required] & you should have eaten it [the goat of the sin offering], in the holy place, as I commanded.

Aaron said to Moses, Behold, this day they have offered their sin offering & their burnt offering before the Lord; & [the death & sinfulness of my other 2 sons has befallen me] & if I had eaten the sin offering today [while grieving], [would] it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord? When Moses heard that, he was contented.

What Can and Can’t be Eaten by the Israelites

Leviticus 11:1-47          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord spoke to Moses & Aaron & [told] them to speak to the children [people] of Israel, You may eat of all the beasts of the earth: [whatever completely parts] [divides] the hoof, with cloven hooves [each of 2 toes with a totally separated hoof] & chews the cud [chews their food again to fully digest it].

They shall not eat of [the animals] that [don’t] chew the cud [chew their food again to fully digest it], or they [don’t divide the hoof, [like] the camel that chews the cud, but [doesn’t] have cloven hooves & the rock hyrax, because it chews the cud, but [doesn’t] have cloven hooves & the hare [rabbit] that chews the cud, but [doesn’t] have cloven hooves & the swine divides the hoof, has cloven hooves, yet [doesn’t] chew the cud. They are all unclean to you & [everyone who] touches their carcass shall be unclean.

You shall not eat their flesh & [shouldn’t] touch their carcass. They are unclean to you. [Whoever] touches or [carries] their carcass shall be unclean until evening & shall wash their clothes.

You may eat of all that are in the water: [whatever] has fins & scales whether in the seas or in the rivers. You shall eat them.

[Don’t] eat [anything] that [doesn’t] have fins & scales, in the seas or rivers of all that move in the water or any living thing in the water. You [shouldn’t] eat their flesh or touch their carcass. They shall be an abomination to you.

[Although it doesn’t list all the [birds] that can be eaten like: chicken, duck, turkey, quail, etc. it is assumed that any bird that isn’t listed as an unclean bird after its kind, was able to be eaten].

These are the unclean [birds] after their kind that [shouldn’t] be eaten: eagle, vulture, the buzzard, the kite, falcon, raven, ostrich, short-eared owl, sea gull, hawk, little owl, fisher owl, screech owl, white owl, jackdaw, carrion vulture, stork heron, hoopoe, & bat. All these & [any bird] that creeps, going upon all fours, shall not be eaten & shall be an abomination to you.

You may eat of every flying, creeping [insect] that goes on all fours that have [jointed] legs above their feet to leap on the earth; after their kind like the: locust, bald locust, destroying locust, cricket, beetle, & the grasshopper.

[Whatever] goes on [its] paws, among all beasts on all fours, are unclean to you & [whoever] touches or [carries] their carcass shall be unclean until evening.

These also shall be unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth after their kind: the weasel, mole, mouse, large lizard, ferret, snail, gecko, monitor lizard, sand reptile, sand lizard, the chameleon & the tortoise.  [Whoever] touches their dead carcass, shall be unclean until evening.

[Whatever] their dead carcass falls upon or in, shall be unclean; whether [its] a vessel of wood, [clothing], skin, or sack. Whatever vessel it is or whatever work is done [with it], it shall be unclean until evening & so it shall be cleansed.

[If any of them falls in an earthen vessel [made of clay], it is unclean & you should break it. [If any water that falls from the contaminated vessel ]onto edible food or drink becomes unclean].

Everything that a part of a carcass falls on shall be unclean; whether [it’s] an oven, range for pots,  or cooking stove, it shall be broken down; for they are unclean.

Nevertheless a [spring] or [cistern], in which there is plenty of water, shall be clean, but [whatever] touches any carcass shall be unclean .

If any part of a carcass falls on any [planting] seed which is to be sown, it remains clean. But if any [contaminated water where the carcass fell in it] is put on the seed & if any such carcass falls on it [the seed/seedling] becomes unclean.

If any beast, which you may eat, dies & he touches [it], shall be unclean until evening. He that eats or [carries] the carcass of it, shall wash his clothes & be unclean until evening.

All other flying & creeping [insects]: whatever crawls on [its] belly, whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet among all creeping things that creep on the earth, these you shall not eat, for they are an abomination to you. [Whoever] touches [their] carcass shall be unclean until [evening].

You shall not defile or make yourself abominable with any creeping thing that creeps. [Neither shall you make yourselves unclean with any [type] of creeping thing, that you may be defiled [by them].  For I am the Lord your God & you shall sanctify yourselves. You shall be holy; for I am holy.

I am the Lord that [brought] you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: You shall be holy, for I am holy. This is the law [concerning] the beasts, the [birds], of every living creature that moves in the waters or creeps upon the earth. To [distinguish] between the clean & the unclean & between the [beasts] that may be eaten & the [beasts] that may not be eaten.

Having a Male Child Circumcised

Leviticus 12:1-8        The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Speak to the children [people] of Israel, If a woman has conceived & bore a male child, she shall be unclean 7 days; as in the days of her [monthly] impurity.

On the 8th day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. She shall continue in the blood of her purification 33 days & shall not go into the sanctuary or touch any hallowed thing until the days of her purification are fulfilled.

But if she bears a [female] child, she shall be unclean for 2 weeks & shall continue in the blood of her purification for 66 days.

When the days of her purification are complete, whether for [giving birth to] a son or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb in its 1st year to the priest as a burnt offering & a young pigeon or a turtle dove as a sin offering, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

The priest shall offer it before the Lord and make atonement for her & she shall be [clean] from the [flow] of her blood. This is the law for her that has [given birth] to a male or female child.

If she [isn’t] able to bring a lamb, she may bring 2 turtle [doves] or 2 young pigeons, 1 as a burnt offering & 1 as a sin offering. The priest shall make atonement for her & she shall be clean.

[If]-[Then] Format to Determine if a Sore or a Garment is Leprous

Leviticus 13:1-59      The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord spoke to Moses & Aaron saying, [If] a man has in the flesh of his skin a [swelling], a scab, or a bright spot & is in the flesh of his skin like the plague of leprosy, [then] he shall be brought to Aaron, the priest, [to] one of his sons, the priests.

[If] the priest [examines] the [sore] in the skin & the hair in the [sore has] turned white & the skin in the [sore is] deeper than the skin of his flesh, [then] the priest will pronounce him unclean.

[If] the bright spot is white in the skin of his flesh & [isn’t] deeper than the skin of his [body] & the hair [hasn’t] turned white; [then] the priest shall [isolate] the person with the [sore] for 7 days.

[If] the priest [examines] him on the 7th day & the [sore is the same & hasn’t] spread in the skin, [then] the priest shall [isolate] him 7 more days. [If] the priest [examines] him again on the 7th day & the [sore] is somewhat dark & the [sore hasn’t] spread, [then] the priest shall pronounce him clean. It is [just] a scab & he shall wash his clothes & be clean.

If the scab [should] spread [over] much of the skin, after his [examination] by the priest & his cleansing, [then] he shall be seen by the priest again. [If] the priest [sees] that the scab has spread [over] the skin, [then] the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is leprosy.

[If] the plague of leprosy is in a man [then] he shall be brought to the priest. [If] the priest who [examines] him [sees] the [swelling] is white in the skin & the hair [has] turned white & there is raw flesh in the [swelling], [then] it is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh & the priest shall pronounce him unclean & shall not [isolate] him: for he is unclean.

[If] leprosy spreads out [over] the skin & covers all the skin of the [person who] has the plague from his head to his [toe], [wherever] the priest looks, [Then] the priest shall consider [it] & [if] the leprosy has covered all his flesh, [then] he shall pronounce him clean [who] has the plague: It is all turned white & he is clean.

[If] raw flesh appears in him, [then] he shall be unclean. [If] the priest [sees] the raw flesh, [then] he will pronounce him unclean: For raw flesh is unclean: it is a leprosy.

[If] the raw flesh [turns] again & changes to white, [then] he shall come to the priest. [If] the priest [sees] him & behold the plague has turned white, [then] the priest shall pronounce him clean [who had] the plague. He is clean.

[If] the flesh of the skin [has] a boil [or ulcer] & is healed, [then] if the place of the boil [has] a white swelling, a bright spot, white & somewhat reddish, [then] it should be shown to the priest. [If] the priest [sees] it is [deeper] in the skin & the hair of it has turned white; [then] the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil.

[If] the priest looks [at] it & behold, there [are] no white hairs [in it] & [it’s] not [deeper] than the skin, but [is] somewhat dark; [then] the priest shall [isolate] him 7 days. [If] it spreads much [over] the skin, [then], the priest shall pronounce him unclean: It is an [infection or a leporous sore].

[If] the bright spot [remains] in [its] place & [doesn’t] spread, it is a burning boil, [then] the priest shall pronounce him clean. [If] there is [burn] on your flesh & the [raw portion of] the burned flesh has a bright white spot, somewhat reddish or white; [Then] the priest shall [examine] it. [If] the hair in the bright spot [has] turned white & [it’s] deeper than the skin; [then] it is a leprosy broken out of the burn & the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is an [infection or] plague of leprosy.

[If] the priest [examines it] & behold, there is no white hair in the bright spot & it [isn’t] lower than the other skin, but is somewhat dark, [then] the priest shall [isolate] him 7 days. [If] the priest [examines it] the 7th day & it has spread much [over] the skin, [then] the priest shall pronounce him unclean

[If] the bright spot [stays in its] place & [doesn’t] spread in the skin & is somewhat dark, [then] the priest shall pronounce him clean. It is an inflammation of the burn.

[If] a man or woman has a plague upon [their] head or beard; [Then] the priest shall [examine] the plague & behold, [if[ [it’s] deeper than the skin & there is a thin yellow hair in it; [then] the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a dry [eruption of the skin], even a leprosy upon the head or beard.

[If] the priest [looks at] the plague of the [eruption on the skin] & behold, [it’s] not deeper than the skin & [there’s] no black hair in it; [then] the priest shall [isolate] him 7 days. [If] the 7th day, the priest [sees] it [hasn’t] spread & there is no yellow hair & the [wound isn’t] deeper than the skin, [then] he shall be shaved, but the wound [area shouldn’t be shaved] & he shall be [isolated] 7 days.

[If on] the 7th day, the priest looks at the [eruption of the skin] & it [hasn’t] spread in the skin & [isn’t] deeper than the skin; [then] the priest shall pronounce him clean & he shall wash his clothes & shall be clean.

[If] the priest [sees] the [eruption of the skin has] spread [over] much of the skin after his cleansing; [Then] the priest shall not [search] for a yellow hair; he is unclean. [If] the priest [sees] the [eruption of the skin] [hasn’t] spread & there is a black hair grown [in it]; [then] the [eruption of the skin] has healed : [then] the priest shall pronounce him clean.

[If] a man or a woman has bright spots [or] white spots in the flesh of their skin; [Then] the priest shall [examine] & [if] the bright spots in the flesh of their skin [is] darkish white; [then] it is a freckled spot that grows in the skin; he is clean.

[If] the man whose hair [has] fallen off his head, [then] he is bald; yet, he is clean. [If] his hair [falls] from part of his head toward his face, [then] he is forehead bald: yet [he] is clean.

[If] there [is] a bald head or bald forehead & a reddish-white sore; [then] it is a leprosy sprung up on his bald head or his bald forehead. [If] the priest looks on it & behold, if the swelling of the sore [is] reddish-white in his bald head, or his bald forehead, as leprosy appears in the skin of the flesh; [Then] he is a leprous man & he is unclean & the priest will pronounce him unclean. His plague is in his head.

[If] a leper thas the plague, [then] his clothes shall be [torn] & his head bare & he shall put a covering upon his upper lip & shall cry, Unclean, unclean. [If] he has the plague, all the days he shall be defiled; he is unclean: [then]  he shall dwell alone & [live] outside the camp.

[If] the plague of leprosy is inside a garment, whether [its] a woolen garment, or a linen garment; or [is] in the [woven threads] of [linen] or wool, or in [leather or] in anything made with [leather] & the plague is greenish or reddish in the garment or the [leather]; [then] it is a plague of leprosy & shall be [shown] to the priest.

[If] the priest [who examines] the plague in it & [then] he will shut it up for 7 days. [If] the priest [sees] the 7th day the plague [has] spread in the [woven threads] of the garment or anything made with [leather]; [then] the plague is an [active] leprosy; it is unclean & it shall be burned in the fire.

[If] the priest [examines it] & behold, the plague [hadn’t] spread in the [woven threads] of the garment or anything made of [leather]; [Then] the priest shall command that they wash the [item] the plague was in & shut it up 7 more days.

[If] the priest [examines] the plague after it is washed & it [hasn’t] changed [its] color & the plague [hasn’t] spread; [then] it is unclean & shall be burned in the fire. It is [an active plague, whether it is threadbare inside or outside]

[If] the priest [examines] the plague & it is somewhat dark after washing it; [then] he shall [tear] it out of the garment, or out of the [leather], or out of the [woven threads]. [If] [it] still appears in the garment, in the [woven threads], or the [leather item], [then] it is a spreading plague & you shall burn the [item with the plague] in fire.

[If] the garment is washed & the plague has departed from it, either in the [woven threads], or the [item of leather], [then] it shall be washed a 2nd time & shall be clean.

This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of wool or linen, either  in the [woven threads] or anything of [leather], to pronounce it clean; or to pronounce it unclean.

The Law of Cleansing the Leper

Leviticus 14:1-57           The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, This shall be the law of the leper [on] the day of his cleansing. He shall be brought to the priest & the priest shall go outside the camp & shall [examine him].

Behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper; Then the priest shall [order] 2 clean live birds, cedar wood, scarlet & hyssop for the person to be cleansed.

The priest shall [order] that 1 of the birds is killed in an earthen [clay] vessel over running water. He shall take the living bird, the cedar wood, scarlet & hyssop & dip them & the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

He shall sprinkle [it] upon the [person] to be cleansed from leprosy 7 times & shall pronounce him clean & shall let the living bird loose into the open field. The [person] to be cleansed shall wash [their] clothes, shave off all his hair & wash himself in water, [so] he may be clean.

After that, he may come into the camp, but must stay outside of his tent for 7 days. On the 7th day, he shall shave off all his hair, beard & eyebrows & wash his clothes & wash [himself] in the water & he shall be clean.

On the 8th day, he shall take 2 [male] lambs & 1 ewe [female] lamb of the 1st year [all] without blemish & 3/10 [ephah] of fine flour for a [meat/grain] offering, [mixed] with oil & 1 log of oil.

The priest [who pronounces] him clean, shall present the man to be made clean & those things before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:

The priest shall take 1 [male] lamb & offer him & the log of oil for a trespass offering & wave them for a wave offering before the Lord: He shall [kill] the lamb in the [same] place where he [kills] the sin offering & the burnt offering, in the holy place: [since] the sin offering is the priest’s [portion], [so] is the trespass offering. It is most holy.

The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering & the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear, thumb of his right hand & the [big] toe of his right foot of the [one] to be cleansed.

The priest shall take some of the log of oil & pour it into the palm of his left hand & dip his right finger in the oil & sprinkle the oil with his finger 7 times before the Lord.

The priest shall put the [rest] of the oil in his hand upon the tip of the right ear, thumb of his right hand & the [big] toe of his right foot on top of the blood of the trespass offering & the [rest] of the oil in the priest’s hand shall be poured on the head of the [one] to be cleansed. The priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord.

The priest shall offer the sin offering & make an atonement for [the one] to be cleansed from his uncleanness. Afterward, the priest shall kill the burnt offering & offer it & the [meat/grain] offering upon the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him & he shall be clean.

If the person [is] poor & [can’t get all this], then he shall take 1 lamb for a trespass offering to be waved & 1/10 [ephah] of fine flour [mixed] with oil for a [meat/grain] offering & a log of oil to make atonement for him;

And 2 turtle doves or young pigeons, as he is able to get. The 1 [bird] shall be a sin offering & the other a burnt offering. He shall bring them on the 8th day to the priest at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, before the Lord for his cleansing.

The priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering & the log of oil & wave them for a wave offering before the Lord & he shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering & take some of [its] blood & put it upon the tip of the right ear, thumb of his right hand & the [big] toe of his right foot of the [one] to be cleansed.

The priest shall take some of the log of oil & pour it into the palm of his left hand & dip his right finger in the oil & sprinkle the oil with his finger 7 times before the Lord.

The priest shall put the rest of the oil in his hand upon the tip of the right ear, thumb of his right hand & the [big] toe of his right foot on top of the blood of the trespass offering & the [rest] of the oil in the priest’s hand shall be poured on the head of the [one] to be cleansed. The priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord.

He shall offer 1 of the turtle doves or 1 young pigeon, [whatever he can get], the 1 for a sin offering & the other for a burnt offering, with the [meat/grain] offering & the priest shall make atonement for the [one] to be cleansed before the Lord. This is the law of the [person who has] the plague of leprosy, [who can’t afford] to get [what] pertains to his cleansing.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses & Aaron, saying, When you come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession & I put the plague of leprosy in a house [in] the land of your possession.

He [who owns] a house shall come & tell the priest, saying, It seems to me there is a plague [of spreading mold] in the house: Then the priest shall [order] that they empty the house, before the priest goes into it to see the plague, [so] all [who go into] the house are not made unclean & afterward the priest shall go in to [examine] the house.

He shall [examine] the [mold] on the walls & behold, if the plague of [spreading mold is] in the walls of the house with greenish or reddish [streaks which are deeper than the surface] of the wall; Then the priest shall go out of the house, to the door of the house & shut up the house for 7 days.

The priest shall come again on the 7th day & shall [examine it] & behold, if the plaque [of mold] has spread in the walls of the house; Then the priest shall [order] that they take away the stones that have the [plague of mold] in them & they shall [throw them] into an unclean place [outside] the city.

[The priest] shall cause the house to be scraped [around the inside]. The dust that they scrape off shall [be poured out], [outside] the city into an unclean place. They shall take [the] other stones & put them [instead] of [the removed] stones & shall plaster the house with [new] mortar.

If the plague [of mold returns] & breaks out in the house, after he has [already] taken away the stones & scraped the house & plastered it; Then the priest shall come & examine [it] & if the plague [has] spread in the house, it is an [active] leprosy [of spreading mold] in the house & it is unclean.

He shall break down the house, the stones, the timber, & the mortar of the house & it shall [all] be carried outside the city into an unclean place. Also, [the [person who] goes into the house while it is shut up, shall be unclean until the [evening].

[The person who] lies in the house or eats in the house shall wash [their] clothes. If the priest comes to [examine the house] & behold the plague [of mold hasn’t] spread in the house after it was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague [of mold] is healed.

He shall take to cleanse the house 2 birds, cedar wood, scarlet & hyssop. He shall kill 1 of the birds in an earthen [clay] vessel over running water: He shall take the cedar wood, the scarlet & the living bird & dip them in the blood of the [killed] bird & in running water & sprinkle the house 7 times:

He shall cleanse the house with blood of the bird & with the running water & the living bird, the cedar wood, hyssop & scarlet: But he shall let the living bird go [outside] the city into the open fields & make atonement for the house & it shall be clean.

This [plus the previous few chapters are] the law for all [kinds] of plagues of leprosy, scaly diseases of the skin, leprosy of garments & leprosy [of mold] for the house, swelling, scabs, & for a bright spot: To teach [them] when it is unclean and when it is clean. This is the law of leprosy.

What Shall be Done for Those With a Discharge

Leviticus 15:1-33          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [spoke] to Moses & Aaron & [says], Say to the children [people] of Israel, When any man has a [discharge from his body], his [discharge] is unclean.

This shall be his uncleanness [in regard to] his discharge: whether his [body] runs with his [discharge] or his body is stopped up by his [discharge], it is his uncleanness. Every bed is unclean [that the person] with a discharge lies upon & everything he [sits on] shall be unclean.

[Whoever] touches his bed, sits on [anything] he sat on, touches the [body] of the person with the discharge, or rides on the same saddle as [the person with a discharge], or touches or carries any things that were under [the person with a discharge] shall wash their clothes & bathe in water & will be unclean until [evening].

Whoever touches [a person with a discharge] shall wash their hands & bathe in water & wash their clothes & be unclean until [evening]. The earthen [clay] vessel of the person with a [discharge] shall be broken & every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.

When the person is cleansed of his [discharge], he shall [count] 7 days [for his] cleansing & wash his clothes & bathe [his body] in running water & shall be clean.

On the 8th day he shall take 2 turtle doves or 2 young pigeons & come before the Lord to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation & give them to the priest. The priest shall offer 1 [bird] as a sin offering & the other for a burnt offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord, because of his [discharge].

If any man has an [emission of semen], then he shall wash his [body] & [any] garments or [leather] in water & be unclean until evening. Also, if a woman lies with a man & [there is an emission of semen], they shall [both] bathe in water & be unclean until evening.

If a woman has a [discharge] from her [body] that is blood, she shall be [set] apart 7 days & whoever touches her, everything she lies on & [sits] on or is on them & [whoever] touches [any of those items] shall be unclean until evening & shall wash their clothes & bathe in water.

If any man [lies] with her at all & her [monthly blood] is on him, he shall be unclean for 7 days & his bed he lies [on]. If a woman has a [discharge] of blood for many days [other than] her [monthly impurity of blood] or it runs beyond her usual [monthly] amount of days of separation, she shall be unclean.

Every bed she lies on or sits on [during her separation] shall be unclean [like]  the [her customary separation]. [Whoever] touches those things shall wash his clothes & bathe in water & shall be unclean until evening.

If she shall [is] cleansed of her [discharge], she shall [count] 7 days & after that she shall be clean. On the 8th day, she shall take 2 turtle doves or 2 young pigeons & bring them to the priest to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

The priest shall offer 1 [bird] as a sin offering & the other for a burnt offering & the priest shall make atonement for her before the Lord for the [discharge] of her uncleanness.

Thus you shall separate the children [people] of Israel from their uncleanness, [so] they [don’t] die in their uncleanness & they [don’t] defile My tabernacle that is among them.

This is the law for [those who] have a [discharge] & [those who emit semen] & defiled [with it] & to her [who has her customary monthly impurity] & for [either] a man or woman who has a [discharge] & for him who lies with her [while] she is unclean.

Making Atonement in the Holy Place & Releasing the Scapegoat

Leviticus 16:1-34             The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

After the death of 2 of Aaron’s sons when they [didn’t follow their training to use fire from the altar & used [profane] fire before the Lord, the Lord [said] to Moses;

[Tell] Aaron, your brother, that he [isn’t] supposed to come into the Holy Place inside the veil before the mercy seat which is on the ark, [just] anytime [he wants], [so] he [doesn’t] die; for I [the Lord God] will appear in a cloud upon the mercy seat.

Aaron shall come into the Holy Place; with a young bull for a sin offering for & a ram for a burnt offering. He shall put on the holy linen coat & linen [pants] & shall be girded with a linen [sash] & the linen turban. These are holy garments therefore he shall wash his [body]  in water [before] putting them on.

He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel 2 kid goats as a sin offering & 1 ram for a burnt offering. Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering for himself & his [family].

He shall take the 2 goats & present them before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. Aaron shall cast lots for the 2 goats. 1 lot for the [goat for] Lord & he will offer [it] as a sin offering.

The other lot [is] for the scapegoat which will be presented alive before the Lord, to make atonement with [it] & to let it go as a scapegoat into the wilderness. Aaron shall kill the bull of the sin offering that is to make atonement for himself & his family.

He shall take a censer [for burning incense] full of burning coals of fire off the altar before the Lord, [with] his hands full of sweet incense beaten [fine] & bring it inside the veil & put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony [10 Commandments] [so] he [doesn’t] die:

He shall take [some of] the blood of the bull with his finger & sprinkle it on the mercy seat eastward & [in front of] the mercy seat he shall sprinkle [some] of the blood 7 times.

Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering for the people & bring [its] blood [inside] the veil to do as he [previously] did with the blood of the bull & sprinkle it on the mercy seat & [in front of] the mercy seat.

[Aaron] shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children [people] of Israel & because of their transgressions & all their sins & so [Aaron] shall do [the same] for the tabernacle of the congregations [which] remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

There shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goes in to the Holy Place to make atonement for himself, his household & for all the assembly of Israel.

Aaron shall go out to the altar that is before the Lord & make atonement for it & shall take [some] of the blood of the bull & the goat & put it on the horns of the altar [all around].

Then he shall sprinkle [some] of the blood on it with his finger 7 times [to] cleanse it & [consecrate] it from the uncleanness of the children [people] of Israel. When he has made an end of [atoning for] the Holy Place, the tabernacle of the congregation & the altar, [Aaron] shall bring the live goat.

Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat & confess over it all the iniquities of the [people] of Israel & all their transgressions [related to] all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat.

[He] shall send [it] away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man. The [person who] let the scapegoat go, shall wash his clothes & bathe his body in water & afterward come into the camp.

The goat shall bear on [itself] all their iniquities to an [uninhabited] land & he shall let the goat go in the wilderness. Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation & [take] off the linen garments, he put on when he went into the Holy Place & shall leave them there.

He shall wash his [body] with water in the holy place & put on his garments, come out & offer his burnt offering & the burnt offering for the people & make atonement for himself & the people. He shall burn the fat of the sin offering on the altar.

The bull & goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be [carried outside] the camp & they shall burn [its] skins, flesh & [waste] in the fire. The [person who] burns them shall wash his clothes & bathe his [body] in water & may come into the camp afterward.

This shall be a statute forever [for] you, that on the 10th day of the 7th month, you shall [humble] your souls & do no work at all, whether [it's a person] of your own country, or a stranger who [stays] among you.

For on that day the priest shall make atonement for you, to cleanse you, [so] that you may be clean from all your sins before the Lord. It is a Sabbath of solemn rest for you & you shall [humble] your souls. It’s a statute forever.

The priest [who is anointed & consecrated] to minister in the priest’s office in his father [Aaron’s place], shall make atonement & put on the linen clothes, & the holy garments.

He shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary, the tabernacle of the congregation & for the altar & he shall make atonement for the priests & all the people of the congregation.

This shall be an everlasting statute for you to make atonement for the children [people] of Israel, for all their sins once a year. [Aaron] did as the Lord commanded Moses.

Not to Sacrifice to Demons, but Only to the Lord Your God

Leviticus 17:1-16          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord spoke to Moses to [tell] Aaron, his sons & the children [people] of Israel, The Lord has commanded that [whatever] man of Israel [who] kills an ox, lamb, or goat in the camp, or [outside] the camp,

And [he who doesn’t] bring it to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering to the Lord [in front of] the tabernacle of the Lord; shall be [guilty for shedding blood in an unlawful manner]. [That man has] shed blood & shall be cut off from among his people:

[In order] that the [people] of Israel, [who have been offering their sacrifices in an open field to false gods], may [now] bring their sacrifices to the Lord [to] the door of the tabernacle of the congregation to the priest & offer them as peace offerings to the Lord [God].

The priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar of the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation & burn the fat for a sweet [aroma] to the Lord. They shall [no longer] offer their sacrifices to [demons] after whom they have played the [harlot] [disloyal & chasing after false gods].

This shall be a statute for them throughout their generations. Also you shall say to them that [whatever] man of the house of Israel or the stranger who dwells among you & offers a burnt offering or sacrifices & [doesn’t] bring it to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation to offer it to the Lord, shall be cut off from among his people, [because he chose to offer it to false gods instead of to the Lord his God.]

[Whatever] man of the house of Israel, or the strangers [who dwell] among you & who eat any [type of] blood; I [God] will set My face against that [person who] eats [anything with the] blood [in it] & [will cut him off from among his people.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood & I have given it to you [to use] upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes the atonement for the soul.

Therefore I said the [people] of Israel, or of the strangers among you who hunts & catches any [animal or bird] to be eaten, he shall pour [its] blood out & cover it with dust; for it is the life of all flesh.

[Its] blood [sustains its] life. Therefore I said to the [people] of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any [type] of flesh, for the life of all flesh is [its] blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

Every person who eats what died naturally or what is torn by beasts, whether he is one of your own country or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes & bathe in water & be unclean until evening.

Then he shall be clean, but if he [doesn’t] wash [his clothes] or bathe his [body], he shall bear his [guilt].

Israelites Are to Be Moral People & Not Defile Themselves

Leviticus 18:1-30          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [spoke] to Moses to say to the children [people] of Israel, I am the Lord your God. You shall not do according to [all the things that were done] in the land of Egypt [where you lived] & [you must not do all the wicked things that they do] the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you.

You shall not walk in their [laws & rituals]. You shall [obey] My laws & [follow] My decrees to walk in them. I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore keep My statutes & My judgments, [for the person who obeys them] shall live by them. I am the Lord.

None of you shall approach [& be intimate with any close relatives:] your father, your mother, your father’s wife, your sister, the daughter of your father or your mother, your son’s daughter, your daughter’s daughter, your father’s wife’s daughter, your father’s sister, your mother’s sister, your father’s brother, your daughter-in-law, your brother’s wife & you shall not uncover the nakedness of any of these, because they are your [close relatives.]

[Also,] you shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman & her daughter, nor her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, for they] are close relatives to her] & it is wickedness. Neither shall you take [intimately] a woman who is your wife’s sister [who will be a rival to her sister] during her lifetime.

You shall not approach a woman [intimately] as long as she is in her [monthly impurity]. [Also] you shall not lie [intimately] with your neighbor’s wife to defile yourself with her.

You shall not let any of your [descendants] pass through fire to Molech [a pagan ritual as a human sacrifice to a false god], nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.

You shall not lie [intimately] with a man as with a woman. It is an abomination. Neither shall you [mate] with any animal to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand [in front of] an animal to [have sexual relations] with it. It is [perversion].

[Don’t] defile yourselves with any of these things, [because that’s how] the nations [I’m] driving out before you became defiled. For the land is defiled, so I will [punish it] for their iniquity [sins] & the land shall vomit out [its] inhabitants.

Therefore, you shall keep My statutes & My judgments & shall not commit any of these abominations. Neither any of [those of] your nation, nor any stranger [who stays] among you.

(For all these abominations [have been done by those who] lived in the land before you & the land is defiled.) If you defile the land [with abominations like the previous people], the land will vomit you out [just] like it [did] to the previous nations.

Anyone who commits any of these abominations shall be cut off from among their people. Therefore you shall keep My laws & My decrees, [so] you [don’t] commit any of these [detestable] customs that were [done before you came] & defile yourself [with them]. I am the Lord your God.

You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your [livestock] breed with [another kind of animal]. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed, nor shall you wear a garment [made of both] linen & wool.

When you come into the land [that I have promised to you] & have planted all kinds of trees for food, you shall [consider] the fruit uncircumcised for the 1st 3 years & shall not eat it. But in the 4th year all the fruit shall be holy to praise the Lord [with it & it shouldn’t be eaten]. The 5th year, you may eat [its] fruit that it may yield to you & [its] increase. I am the Lord your God.

You shall not eat anything with the blood [still in it], nor shall you use enchantments [witchcraft, casting spells, sorcery] nor observe the times [astrology, horoscopes, seasons]. You shall not [shave around] the corners of your heads, nor shall you mar the corners of your beard [as some do to worship false gods].

You shall [stand up] & rise before the [gray headed] & honor the face of an old man & fear [respect] your God. I am the Lord.

If a stranger [dwells] with you in your land, you shall not [mistreat] him & the stranger who dwells among you shall be to you [like] one born among you & you shall love him as yourself: for you were [once] strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

[Don’t use dishonest measurements of length, weight, or quantity]. You shall have honest scales, honest weights, honest ephah [approx. 6 gallons] & honest hin [approx. 1 gallon].

I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe all My statutes & My judgements & perform them. I am the Lord.

Penalties of Immorality

Leviticus 20:1-27          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [told] Moses to [tell] the children [people] of Israel or the strangers [who dwell [in Israel, that give any of his [children] to [the false god] Molech [as a human sacrifice] will be put to death & the people of the land with stone him.

I [the Lord God] will set My face against that man & will cut him off from his people, because he has given some of his [children] to Molech [a pagan god] to defile My sanctuary & to profane My holy name.

If the people of the land hide their eyes & pretend they [don’t] see him give his [children] to Molech & [don’t] kill him, then I will set My face against that man & his family & will cut him off & all who go [prostituting] themselves [by not being faithful to the Lord God, but by being unfaithful harlots chasing after a false god] Molech [a pagan god].

I will also set My face against the person who turns after [mediums, wizards] & those who have familiar spirits, to [be unfaithful & [following] them. I [the Lord God] will cut him off from his people. Sanctify yourselves therefore & be holy, for I am the Lord your God & you shall keep My statutes & perform them. I am the Lord who [sanctifies] you.

If a man lies [intimately] with his daughter-in-law, they have committed perversion & they both shall surely be put to death & [their] blood shall be upon [them for their choices].

If a man lies with a [male] as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination & they shall surely be put to death & [their] blood shall be upon [them for their choices].

If a man marries a woman & her mother, it is wickedness & they shall be burned with fire, [so] that there is no wickedness among you. If a man or woman [is sexually intimate] with an [animal], both the [person] & the [animal] shall be put to death & [their] blood shall be upon [them for their choices].

If a man takes his sister, [either] his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter & sees her nakedness & she sees his, it is a wicked thing & they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he has uncovered his sister’s nakedness & he shall bear his iniquity [for his choices].

A man shall not be [intimate] with his mother’s sister, or his father’s sister, his uncle’s wife, or his brother’s wife for they are his near [family] & [their] blood shall be upon [them for their choices].

Therefore, you shall keep all My statutes & all My judgments & do them, [so] that the land where I [the Lord God] am bringing you to dwell [doesn’t vomit] you out. You shall not [follow the wicked ways & statutes the previous nation committed], therefore I [detested] them & I [am casting] them out before you.

But I have said to you, You shall inherit their land & I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk & honey. I am the Lord your God, who has separated you from other people.

Therefore you shall [distinguish] between the clean & the unclean [animals, birds, & creeping things], [so] that you [don’t] make yourselves abominable by any of these things that I have separated from you as unclean.

You shall be holy to Me for I the Lord am holy & I have [separated] you from other people, [so] that you should be Mine. A man or a woman who is a wizard or has a familiar spirit, shall be put to death & shall be stoned & [their] blood shall be upon [them for their choices].

Those Allowed to Eat the Holy Things Dedicated to the Lord God

Leviticus 22:1-33          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to Aaron & his sons, [so] they [restrain themselves] from touching the holy things [sacrificial foods] the children [people] of Israel consecrated to Me, [so] they [don’t] profane My holy name.

Say to them, [Any of the priests of your descendants who] have any uncleanness shall be cut off from My presence, if he [touches] the holy things [sacrificial foods] that the [people] of Israel consecrated to Me. I am the Lord. [Any of your descendents who]: is a leper, or has a [discharge], shall not eat until he is clean.

He shall not eat [an animal] that has died of itself, or is torn by beasts & defile himself with [them]. I am the Lord. They shall keep My ordinance [to not eat holy food when they are unclean], lest they bear the [guilt] of it & die if they profane it. I, the Lord, do sanctify them.

If a [person] is born in the [priest’s] house or he [buys] a [person], they may eat of his meat/food. If the priest’s daughter is married to a stranger, she may not eat of the offering of the holy [sacrificial food].

If the priest’s daughter is a widow, or divorced & has no child & has returned to her father’s house [to live like when she was young], she may eat of her father’s meat/food, but no stranger may eat [of it]. If a man eats of the holy [sacrificial food without realizing it],  he shall add 1/5 more to it & give it to the priest.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Speak to Aaron, his sons & all the children [people] of Israel & say to them, [Whoever] is of the house of Israel, or a stranger in Israel, [who] offers for his vows [any offering] & all his freewill offerings which they offer to the Lord for a burnt offering; he shall offer [it] of his own will, or a sacrifice of a peace offering to accomplish his vow, a male without blemish of: [beef], sheep or goats.

But it [won’t] be acceptable for you to offer [any animal] that has a blemish, is blind, broken, injured, or [has] an ulcer or discharge, scurvy, or scab, is bruised, crushed, or broken, or cut & [it] shall not be offered for any offering to the Lord in your land, or to make an offering of fire [with] them upon the altar to the Lord.

You may use a bull or a lamb that has a limb [that is too long or too short], or [deformed], or lacking any of [its] parts for a freewill offering, but it [won’t] be acceptable for a vow.

Neither shall you offer [any of these blemished animals purchased from] a stranger's hand [as sacrifices] to the Lord of any of these [which are corrupt & unlawful sacrifices] & their blemishes are in them & they shall not be [acceptable] for you.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses saying, When a bull, sheep, or goat is brought [out], it [shall be with its mother] 7 days. From the 8th day [on], it shall be acceptable for an offering made by fire to the Lord. Whether it’s a cow or a [female sheep], you shall not kill it and her young [offspring] on the [same] day.

When you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, offer it [of] your own free will. It shall be [totally] eaten on the 1st day & leave none of it to the next day]: I am the Lord. Therefore, you shall keep My commandments & do them.

I am the Lord. Neither shall you profane My holy name, but I will be [holy] among the [people] of Israel: I am the Lord [who sanctifies] you & brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.

The Feasts of the Lord God of Israel

Leviticus 23:1-44          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [told] Moses to say to the children [people] of Israel, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, you shall proclaim [them] to be a holy [assembly]. These are My [the Lord God’s] feasts. 6 days work is to be done, but the 7th day is the Sabbath of [solemn] rest, a holy [assembly] & you shall not do [any] work on it.

[It’s] the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. These are the feasts of the Lord & holy [assemblies] you shall proclaim at their [appointed times]. On the 14th day of the 1st month at [evening] is the Lord’s Passover. On the 15th day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord.

You must eat unleavened bread [without yeast] for 7 days. On the 1st day, you shall have a holy [assembly] & not do [any] work on it, but shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord for 7 days. The 7th day is a holy [assembly] & you shall not do [any] work on it.

The Lord wanted Moses to tell the children [people] of Israel, When you come into the land which I give to you & reap [its] harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf [bundle] of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest & he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord to be accepted for you.

On the day after the Sabbath, the priest shall wave it. On the same day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a male lamb of the 1st year without blemish for a burnt offering to the Lord.

[It’s] a [meat/grain] offering & there shall be 2/10 of an [ephah] of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to the Lord, for a sweet [aroma]: the drink offering shall be 1/4 of a hin of wine.

You shall eat neither bread, nor [dried] corn or green ears [of corn] until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God [the Lord]. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

Count from the day after the Sabbath when you brought the sheaf as the wave offering & 7 more Sabbaths are complete & count 50 more days & you shall offer a new [meat/grain] offering to the Lord. You shall bring out from your [dwelling places], 2 wave loaves of 2/10 [ephaph] of fine flour & they shall be baked with leaven [yeast].

They are the firstfruits to the Lord. With the bread, you shall offer 7 lambs of the 1st year without blemish, 1 young bull & 2 rams. They shall be a burnt offering to the Lord with their [meat/grain] offering & drink offerings as an offering made by fire for a sweet [aroma] to the Lord [God].

Then you shall sacrifice 1 kid goat as a sin offering & 2 male lambs of the 1st year as a sacrifice of a peace offering. The priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before the Lord, with the 2 lambs. They shall be holy to the Lord for the priests.

You shall proclaim that same day that it is a holy [assembly] to you & you shall not do [any] work on it. It shall be a statute to you forever in all your generations. When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not [totally] reap the corners of your field, nor gather any gleanings from your harvest.

You shall leave them [for] the poor & [for] the stranger. I am the Lord your God. The Lord [told] Moses, saying, Speak to children [people] of Israel, saying, In the 7th month on the 1st day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath [rest], a memorial of blowing of trumpets & a holy [assembly].

You shall not do [any] work on it. But you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Also, on the 10th day of this 7th month, there shall be a Day of Atonement.

It shall be a holy [assembly] for you & you shall [humble] your souls & [make] an offering made by fire to the Lord [your God]. You shall not do [any] work on that same day, [because] it is a Day of Atonement to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God.

[Any] person [who hasn’t humbled] their soul that same day, shall be cut off from among his people. I will destroy [any person] from among his people who does any work [on] that same day. You shall not do [any type] of work. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

It shall be a Sabbath of rest & you shall [humble yourselves]. In the 9th day of the month at [evening], from evening] to [evening], you shall celebrate your Sabbath. The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, The 15th day of the 7th month, shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for 7 days to the Lord [your God].

On the 1st day there shall be a holy [assembly] & you shall not do [any] work [on it]. For 7 days you shall [present] an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the 8th day you shall have a holy [assembly for] you. You shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly & you shall not do [any] work [on it].

These are the Feasts of the Lord which you shall proclaim to be holy [assemblies], to [present] offerings made by fire to the Lord, a burnt offering & a [meat/grain] offering & a sacrifice & drink offerings, everything on [its] day: [in addition to] the Sabbaths, your gifts, all your vows, all your freewill offerings which you give to the Lord.

Also, on the 15th day of the 7th month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the Feast of the Lord for 7 days & the 1st day there shall be a Sabbath rest & on the 8th day shall be a Sabbath [rest].

On the 1st day, you shall take for yourselves the [branches of:] strong trees, palm trees, thick trees & willows of the brook & you shall rejoice before the Lord for 7 days. You shall keep it as a Feast to the Lord 7 days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations & you shall celebrate it in the 7th month.

You who are native born Israelites shall dwell in booths [huts made of these branches] for 7 days, [so] your generations may know that I made the children [people] of Israel dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God. Moses declared the Feasts of the Lord to the children of Israel.

Penalties for Blaspheming the Lord or for Killing

Leviticus 24:1-23          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Command the children [people] of Israel, [so] they bring pure [pressed] olive oil to you for the light, [so] it can burn continually [outside] the veil of the Testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation.

Aaron shall [be in charge] & order the lamps on the pure gold candlestick [to stay lit] from evening to morning, before the Lord continually. It shall be a statute forever in your generations.

You shall take fine flour & bake 12 cakes [with it using] 2/10 of an [ephah in each] cake. They shall [be] set in 2 rows of 6, on a pure table before the Lord. You shall put pure frankincense on each row of bread for a memorial, an offering made by fire to the Lord.

Every Sabbath [Aaron] shall set it in order before the Lord continually, being taken from the children [people] of Israel by an everlasting covenant [contract]. It is for Aaron & his sons & they shall eat it in the holy place; for it is most holy to him from the offerings of the Lord made by fire [as] a perpetual statute.

The son of an [Israelite] woman, Shelomith, whose father was an Egyptian, (and his mother was [Debri’s] daughter of the tribe of Dan. The son of the [Israelite] woman went among the [people] of Israel & he & a man [fought] together in the camp.

The [Israelite] woman’s son blasphemed the name of the Lord & cursed. They brought him to Moses & they put him [under guard], [so] the the mind of the Lord might be [shown] to them.

The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, [Take] the one [who] has cursed outside the camp & let all [who] heard him lay their hands on his head [while] all the congregation stones him.

[Then] you [Moses] shall speak to the [people] of Israel, saying, [Whoever] curses his God shall bear his sin & he [who] blasphemes the name of the Lord, shall surely be put to death & all the congregation shall stone him [as well as] the stranger [who] is born in the land. When he blasphemes the name of the Lord, he shall be put to death.

[Whoever] kills any man, shall surely be put to death. He [who] kills [an animal] shall make it good; [& replace animal for animal]. If a man [causes a disfiguring injury], the same shall be done to him; [fracture for fracture], eye for eye, tooth for tooth, as he has [caused] it shall be done to him, [as well].

He [who] kills [an animal] shall restore it & he [who] kills a man, shall be put to death. You shall have one [type] of law for the stranger, as well as, [someone] from your own country.

For I am the Lord your God. Moses [spoke] to the children [people] of Israel, that they should bring [the person who] cursed out of the camp & stone him. The [people] of Israel did as the Lord commanded Moses.

The Year of Jubilee & the Laws for Indentured Servants

Leviticus 25:1-55          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [spoke] to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, [Tell] the children [people] of Israel, When you come into the land [that] I [the Lord] give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord.

[For] 6 years you sow your field & prune your vineyard & gather [its] fruit [of it]; But in the 7th year there shall be a sabbath of rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord [where] you shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard.

[What] grows of [its] own accord of your harvest, you shall not reap, neither gather the grapes of your [untended] vine, for it is a year of rest [for] the land.

The sabbath of the land shall be [food] for you, your servant & maid, your hired servant & the stranger & those [who] dwell with you & for your [livestock] & the [beasts] in your land. All the increase [of it] shall be [food for them].

You shall [count ] 7 sabbaths of years [for yourself], 7 times 7 years, & the space of 7 sabbaths of years shall be for you 49 years. Then you shall cause the trumpet of Jubilee to sound on the 10th day of the 7th month, on the Day of Atonement, you shall make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

You shall [honor as holy the] 50th year. You shall proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all the inhabitants [of it]. It shall be a Jubilee [for] you & you shall return every man to his possession & you shall return every man to his family.

That 50th year shall be a Jubilee to you & in it you shall neither sow nor reap [what] grows on [its] own, nor gather the grapes of [its untended] vine. For it is the Jubilee & it shall be holy to you & you shall eat [its increase of produce from] the field.

In this year of Jubilee, you shall return every man to his possession. If you sell [anything] to your neighbor or buy [anything] from him, you shall not oppress one another.

According to the number of years after the Jubilee, you shall buy [from] your neighbor & according to the number of years of [crops] he shall sell to you. According to the multitude of years you shall increase the price [of it] & [if there are few] years [until Jubilee] you shall [reduce] the price [of it].

For according to the number of years of the [crops], he sells unto you. You shall not oppress one another, but you shall fear [respect] the Lord your God. For I am the Lord your God. [Therefore] you shall do My statutes & keep My judgments & do them & you shall [live] in the  land in safety.

The land shall [give] her fruit & you shall eat your fill & live [in it] in safety. If you say, What shall we eat [in] the 7th year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our [produce]. Then I will command My blessing upon you in the 6th year & it shall bring [enough] fruit for 3 years.

You shall sow [seed] the 8th year & [still] eat old [produce] until the 9th year; until her [produce comes] in, you shall eat of the [stored produce]. The land shall not be sold forever: for the land is Mine; for you are strangers and [temporary residents] with Me.

In all the land of your possession you shall grant a redemption for the land. If your brother [becomes] poor & has sold away some of his [possessions] & if any of his [relatives] come to redeem it, then he shall redeem [what] his brother sold.

If the man has [no one] to redeem it & he [is unable] to redeem it [himself]. Then let him count the years from the time from the sale [of the property until Jubilee] & restore [any overage] to the man to whom he sold it; [so] his possession may return to him.

But if he [can’t afford to redeem his property], then the [sold property] shall remain [with the person who] bought it, until the year of Jubilee. In Jubilee, [it shall be released to the original owner as] his possession.

If a man [sells his] house in a walled city, then he may [pay what is owed &] redeem it within a whole year after it is sold. If it [isn’t] redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house in the walled city, shall [belong to the person who] bought it throughout his generations & it shall not [be returned] in the year of Jubilee.

[But] the houses [that are sold] in the villages that have no [walls around] them shall be counted [the same] as the fields of the country & they may be redeemed & they shall be [released] in Jubilee.

[Nevertheless] the cities of the Levites [who do the duty of the church] & the houses [in] the cities of their [possessions], the Levites may redeem [them at any time].

If a man [purchases a house] from a Levite, then the house which was sold [in] the city of his possession, shall be [released] in the year of Jubilee: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children [people] of Israel, But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold, for it is their perpetual possession.

If [one of your brethren] becomes poor & [falls into poverty among] you, then you shall [help] him, [even though] he [is] a stranger or a [temporary resident], [so] he may live with you. Take no usury or [interest] from him, but fear [respect] your God, [so] that your brother may live with you.

You shall not [lend] him your money for [interest], nor lend him your food for [profit]. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan & to be your God.

If your brother [who] dwells near you [becomes] poor & [sells himself] to you, you shall not compel him to serve as a bondservant. [He shall be with you] as a hired servant & [temporary resident]. He shall serve you until the year of Jubilee & then he shall depart from you.

He & his children with him. He shall return to his own family & to the possession of his fathers. [This is now known as Indentured Servitude, when someone is working off a debt or a loan.]

For they are My servants, whom I [the Lord God] brought [forward] out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen. You shall not rule over him with rigor, but you shall fear [respect] your God.

Both your bondmen & bondmaids, which you have, shall be [from] the [heathen nations around] you & you [may] buy bondmen & bondmaids [from] them & the strangers & [temporary residents] that [saty] among you & from their families that are with you [which were born] in your land.

They shall be your possession & you shall [pass them down] as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them as a possession. They shall be your bondmen forever: you shall not rule over another [Israelite] with rigor.

If [a temporary resident] or stranger [becomes wealthy] by you & your brother [who] dwells with you [becomes] poor & [sells] himself to the stranger or [temporary resident’s clan near] you: After he [has been sold for his debt], he may be redeemed again, one of his brethren may redeem him [by paying what is owed].

Either his uncle, his uncle’s son, or any [near relative] may redeem him, or if he is able, he may redeem himself.

The [amount paid to redeem him needs to be figured out] with the person [who] purchased him from the year that he was sold to him [until] the year of Jubilee & the price of the sale shall be according to the number of years, according to the [rate paid for that time] of a hired servant.

If there are [still] many years [remaining until the year of Jubilee], according to [those] he shall pay the price of his redemption [the difference] of the money he was bought for.

If there [are only] a few years [remaining until] the year of Jubilee, they are to count them & according to his years, he shall give him again the price of his redemption.

[They are to be treated as a] yearly hired servant  & not rule over him with rigor. If he [hasn’t already] been redeemed in [those] years, then he shall [be released] in the year of Jubilee, both he & his children with him. For the children [people] of Israel [belong] to Me.

They are My servants whom I brought [forward] out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

The Blessings if You Follow the Lord & Consequences If You Choose Not To

Leviticus 26:1-46          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

[The Lord God continued to tell Moses:] You shall not make [any] idols, carved images, sacred pillars, or an [engraved] image [false gods] for yourselves in your land to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God.

You shall keep My Sabbaths & reverence My sanctuary. I am the Lord. If you walk in My statutes & keep My commandments & do them, then I will give you rain in due season, the land shall yield [its] produce & the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Your threshing [of grains]shall [last until] the time of vintage & the vintage shall [last until] the time of sowing & you shall eat your bread to the full & dwell in your land safely. I will give peace in the land & you shall lie down & none shall make you afraid.

I will rid the land of evil beasts & the sword shall not go through your land. You shall chase your enemies & they shall fall before you by the sword. Five of you will chase 100 & 100 of you shall put 10,000 to flight & your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

For I will have respect for you & make you fruitful & multiply you & establish My covenant [contract] with you. You shall eat the old [harvest] & [clear out] the old, because of the new [harvest]. I will set My tabernacle among you & My soul shall not despise you.

I will walk among you & will be your God & you shall be My people. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, [so] you [would no longer] be their [slaves]. I have broken the bands of your yoke & I made you [walk with your head held high].

But if you [don’t listen] to Me & do all these commandments & you despise & [hate] My statutes, My judgments & My commandments & break My covenant [contract], I will appoint terror over you a burning [fever] whiich shall consume the eyes & cause sorrow to your heart.

You shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. I will set My face against you & you shall be slain before your enemies. Those who hate you shall [rule] over you & you shall flee when no one is pursuing you. [After] all this, if you [don’t listen] to Me, then I will punish you 7 times more for your sins.

I will break [your stubborn] pride & I will make your [sky above like] iron & your [ground like] brass. Your strength shall be [used] in vain, for your land [won’t] yield [its] increase [of produce] & neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

[Then], if [your walk continues to be defiant] to Me & [you won’t listen] to Me, I will bring 7 times more plagues on you according to your sins. I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, destroy your [livestock] & make you so few in number [that] your highways shall be [deserted].

And if you [aren’t] reformed by Me [through] these things, but [still turn your back &] walk [in defiance] to Me; then I will also [walk in defiance of you & turn My back on you] & [still] punish you [another] 7 times for your sins.

I will bring a sword upon you to avenge [your defiance over] My covenant [contract] & when you are gathered together in your cities, I will send pestilence among you. You shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

When I have cut off [your supply] of bread & 10 women shall bake your bread in 1 oven. They shall deliver your bread again by weight & you shall eat it & not be satisfied.

If you [still won’t listen] to Me [after] all this & walk [in defiance] of Me, then in [My anger] I will walk [in defiance] of you I will [punish] you 7 [more] times for your sins.

You shall eat the flesh of your sons & daughters. I will destroy your high places [where you worship false gods & I] will cut down your [idols] & cast your carcasses on the [lifeless] carcasses of your idols & My soul shall [despise] you.

I will make your cities [into a] waste [land] & bring your sanctuaries [to desolation]. I [won’t  delight] in the sweet [aroma] of your offerings. I will bring the land to desolation & your enemies [who] dwell in [it] shall be astonished [by] it.

I will scatter you among the [nations who worship idols] & draw out the sword after you & your land & cities shall be wasted & [deserted]. Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies [deserted] & you [are] in your enemies’ land.

Then shall the land rest for the time it [didn’t] rest on your sabbaths, when you dwelt in it. For those of you who are left & alive, I will [make their hearts fearful], in the lands of your enemies, [so] they will flee from the sound of a shaken leaf, [like] fleeing from [someone with] a sword & they will fall when no one is [chasing them].

They shall [stumble over] one another, as if [they] were before [someone with] a sword [when no one is chasing them] & you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

You shall perish among the heathen [nations who worship idols] & the land of your enemies shall eat you up. Those of you who are left shall [regret] their iniquity & their [forefathers’] iniquity [as you waste away in] your enemies’ lands.

[But] if they confess their iniquity & the iniquity of their [forefathers] & their [unfaithful offenses] against Me & how they [also turned their back on] Me, [so] that I also [turned My back on them] & brought them into the land of their enemies.

If [they] humble their uncircumcised hearts & accept the guilt of their iniquities, then I will remember My covenant [contract] with Jacob [aka Israel], Isaac & Abraham & will remember the land.

The land shall also be left [to rest without] them & it will enjoy [its] sabbaths while it [lies] desolate without them. [But] if they will accept their punishment of their [iniquities], because they despised My judgments & their souls [hated] My statutes.

Yet, when they are in the land of their enemies, I [won’t] cast them away, neither shall I [despise] them to utterly destroy them & break My covenant [contract]  with them: for I am the Lord their God.

But for their sakes, I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I [the Lord your God] brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the [nations who worship idols],  [so] that I might be their God.

I am the Lord. These are the statutes, judgments & laws which the Lord made between [Himself] & the children [people] of Israel on Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

Redeeming Offerings Sanctified to the Lord

Leviticus 27:1-34          The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus

The Lord [spoke] to Moses & told him to say to the children [people] of Israel, When a man makes an [special] vow [that he or a member of his family would do the service of] the Lord, [the priest would announce the amount of money for the person to be redeemed based on their age, sex & ability to work].

Your estimation for [redeeming] a male 20-60 years old shall be 50 shekels of silver, according to the shekels of the sanctuary. If [it’s] a female, the estimation for [redeeming her] shall be 30 shekels. If [a person] is from 5 years old to 20 years old, [their] estimation [for redeeming them] is 20 shekels for a male & 10 for a female.

If [the person is] 1 month old [up to] 5 years old, [their] estimation [for redeeming them is] 5 shekels for the male & 3 shekels of silver for the female. If [the person is] 60 years old & above, then your estimation [for redeeming them is] 15 shekels for the male & 10 shekels for the female.

But if he [is too poor to pay] his estimation, then he shall present himself to the priest & the priest shall [assign a value for the person] according to his ability [to pay].

If men bring an [animal] as an offering to the Lord, all that anyone gives to the Lord shall be holy. He shall not [substitute] or exchange it good for bad or bad for good & if he does [exchange animal for animal], both [animals exchanged] shall be holy [& can’t be redeemed].

If [the animal vowed] is an unclean [animal not acceptable as] a sacrifice to the Lord, the [animal must be presented to] the priest. The priest shall [assign a] value to it, whether it is good or bad. [Whatever the priest decides the value is, shall stand]. If the [person wants] to redeem it, he shall add 1/5 to the estimation the priest [determined].

When a man [wants to] sanctify his house to be holy to the Lord, then the priest shall [set a value for] it & whether [it’s] good or bad, the price the priest sets shall stand. If the person who sanctifies it wants to redeem his house, then he must add 1/5 to the money of the [valuation of] it & it shall be his.

If a man [sanctifies] some part of his field of his possession to the Lord, then his [valuation] shall be according to the seed [for it]. A homer of barley seed shall be valued at 50 shekels of silver.

If he sanctifies his field until the year of Jubilee, according to your [valuation], it shall stand. But if he sanctifies his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall [calculate] the amount of money [due] according to the number of years that remain [until] the year of Jubilee & it shall be [deducted] from your [valuation].

If the person who sanctified it [wishes] to redeem [his field], he shall add 1/5 to the money of the [valuation] & it shall [belong] to him. But if he [doesn’t want] to redeem [the field] or he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more, but the field when it is [released] in the Jubilee, shall be holy to the Lord, as a devoted field & it shall be the possession of the priests.

If a man sanctifies to the Lord a field which he bought, which [isn’t] the field of his possession, then the priest shall [calculate] the [value] of your estimation, up to the year of Jubilee & he shall give your [valuation on] that day as a holy [offering] to the Lord.

In the year of Jubilee, the field shall return to him [from] whom it was bought, to the one who [originally] owned the land as a possession. All your [valuation] shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: 20 gerahs to the shekel.

But the [firstborn] of the [animals], which should be the Lord’s [firstborn], no man should sanctify it, whether [it’s] an ox or sheep, it is the Lord’s. If it is an uclean [animal] then he shall redeem it according to your [valuation] & shall add 1/5 to it; or if it [isn’t] redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your [valuation].

[Nevertheless], no devoted [offering] that a man devotes to the Lord of all that he has, both man & beast, or of field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted [offering] is most holy to the Lord.

[No person doomed to destruction by something like a death penalty] [can] be devoted by men to the Lord & be redeemed to [escape his penalty] & shall surely be put to death.

All the tithe [10%] of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s & it is most holy to the Lord. If a man [wants] at all [to] redeem [any] of his tithes, he shall add 1/5 to it. And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the 10th only shall be holy to the Lord.

He shall not search [to find out] if it is good or bad, neither shall he [exchange] it & if he [exchanges it at all], then both it & the [animal exchanged] shall be holy [to the Lord] & shall not be redeemed. These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses for the children [people] of Israel on Mount Sinai.
