A Prayer of David. |
Psalm 86:1-17 Book# 3 of Psalms [in Smaller Chunks] |
O Lord, bow Your ear down, & hear me: for I am poor & needy. [Save] my soul, [a.k.a. life,] for I am holy. O You, my God, save Your servant, [who trusts] in You. [Psalm 20:6 Now, I know that the Lord [saves] His anointed. He will hear Him from His Holy Heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.] |
O Lord, be merciful to me, for I cry [out] to You daily. O Lord, the soul of Your servant, [rejoices,] & I do lift up my soul to You. For You are good, Lord, & ready to forgive, [with] [plentiful] mercy to all [those who] call upon You. [Psalm 145:8 The Lord is gracious, & full of compassion, & slow to anger, & [has] great mercy.] |
O Lord, give [Your] ear, [a.k.a. listen,] to my prayer. [Be attentive] to the voice of my [requests.] [On] the day of my [troubles,] I will call upon You: for You [will] answer me. There is none [similar] to You, among the gods, O Lord. Neither are there any works [similar] to Your works, [a.k.a. miracles.] |
[Exodus 14:21-22 And Moses stretched out his hand over the [Red] Sea; & the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong East wind all that night, & made the sea dry land, & the waters were divided. And the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground ;& the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, & on their left.] |
All nations whom You [have] made shall come & worship before You, O Lord, & shall glorify Your Name. [Ephesians 3:4-6 [For this reason,] when you read [it, a.k.a. letter,] you may understand my knowledge [about] the mystery of Christ.) |
Which was not made known to the sons of men, in [previous] [times,] as it is now revealed to His holy apostles, & prophets [through] the [Holy] Spirit: [so] that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, & of the same body [of believers,] & [participants in God's] promise [through] Christ, [in] the Gospel.] |
For You [are] great, & [do] wondrous things. You Alone [Are] God. [Isaiah 37:16 O Lord of Hosts, God of Israel, [Who dwells] between the cherubims, You [Are] the God, even You Alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You [have] made heaven & earth.] |
Teach me Your [ways,] O Lord; & unite my heart to fear, [a.k.a. respect,] Your Name, & I will walk in Your Truth. I will praise You, O Lord my God, & I will glorify Your Name with all my heart forever more. [Philippians 2:5-11 Let [your] [minds within] you, also be [like that] in Christ Jesus, Who [is] in the [image] of God, & thought it not [a crime] to be equal with God. But made Himself of no reputation, [a.k.a. without status,] & was made in the likeness of men, & took upon [Himself] the [image] of a servant. And being found in [the image like] a man, He humbled Himself, & became obedient [until] death, even the death [on] the cross. *[For this reason,] God [has] also highly exalted Him, & [has] given Him a Name [that] is above every Name. That every knee should bow at the Name of Jesus, of things in heaven, & things [on] earth, & things under the earth. *And [so] that every tongue, [a.k.a. language,] should confess to the glory of God the Father, that Jesus Christ Is Lord.] |
For Your mercy is great toward Me, & You have delivered My [life] from the lowest hell. [Acts 2:31-32 *He, [a.k.a. King David,] seeing this [beforehand, spoke] of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell, & neither did His flesh see corruption, [a.k.a. decay.] [For this reason,] we are all witnesses, God [has] raised up this Jesus.] |
O God, the proud [have] risen against Me, & the [mobs] of violent men, [who] haven't [put] You before them, have sought after My soul, [a.k.a. life.] But You, O Lord, [Are] a God full of: compassion, & [are] gracious, [patient, & plentiful] in mercy & truth. [Matthew 22:15-21 Then the Pharisees went, & took counsel [on] how they might entangle Him in His talk. And they sent out their disciples, with the Herodians to Him, saying, [Teacher,] we know that You [are] true, & [teach] the way of God in truth. Neither [do] You [show partiality] for any man. For You [don't regard] the [status] of men. Therefore, tell us, What [do] You think? Is it lawful to give tribute, [a.k.a. taxes,] to Caesar, or not? But Jesus [realized] their wickedness, & said, Why [do] you hypocrites tempt, [a.k.a. test,] Me? [Show] Me the tribute money. And they brought a penny to Him. And He [said] to them, Whose is this image & [inscription?] They [said] to Him, Caesar's. Then He [said] to them, Therefore, [give] to Caesar the things [that] are Caesar's; & [give] to God, the things that are God's.] |
O [return] to Me, & have mercy upon Me. Give Your strength to Your servant, & save the Son of Your handmaid. [Luke 22:41-44 And when He was at the place, He said to them, Pray that you [don't] enter into temptation. And when He was at the place, He said to them, Pray that you [don't] enter into temptation. And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's [throw,] & kneeled down, & prayed, saying, Father, if You [are] willing, remove this cup from Me, nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done. And there appeared an Angel to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly; & His sweat was [like] it were [large] drops of blood falling down to the ground.] |
[Show] me a [sign] for good; that [those who] hate Me may see it, & be ashamed: because You, Lord, [have helped] Me, & comforted Me. [John 15:18-19 If the world [hates] you, you know that it hated Me, before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love [its] own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore, the world hates you.] |
