A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. |
Psalm 90:1-17 Book# 4 of Psalms [in Smaller Chunks] |
Lord, You have been our dwelling place [for] all generations. Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. You had formed the earth & the world, before the mountains were brought [into existence.] You turn man to destruction & say, Return, you children of men. |
[Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of your face, you shall eat bread, [until] you return to the ground. For out of it, you [were] taken: for dust you are & unto dust you shall return.] |
For 1,000 years in Your sight, are but [like] yesterday when it is past & [like] a watch in the night. [2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, [don't] be ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord, [like] 1,000 years & 1,000 years [like] one day.] |
You carry them away [like] with a flood. They are [like those] asleep. In the morning, they are like grass which grows up. In the morning [light,] it flourishes & grows up & in the evening it is cut down & withers. |
For we are consumed by Your anger & we are troubled by Your [fury.] You have [put] our secret sins & our iniquities before You, in the light of Your countenance. |
For all our days [have] passed away in Your [fury] & our years [are spent like] a tale that is told [has ended.] The [amount] of our years & days are 70. And if by reason of strength, they [are] 80 years, [still] their strength [labors in] sorrow; for it's soon cut off & we [disappear.] |
Who knows the power of Your anger? Even according to Your fear [respect,] so is Your [fury, also.] So, teach us to [count] our days, [so] that we apply our hearts to wisdom. |
[Psalm 39:4-5 Lord, make me [able] to know [my] end & the measure of my days, what it is; [so] that I may know how frail I am. [Look,] You have made my days [short] [like] a [hand's width] & [my] age is nothing before You. [Truly,] every man at his best state, is altogether vanity. Selah.] |
Return, O Lord, how long [will it be?] And let it [grieve You about] Your servants. O satisfy us early with Your mercy; [so] that we may rejoice & be glad all our days. Make us glad, according to the [amount of] days [in which] You afflicted us & the years [in which] we have seen evil. |
Let Your work appear to Your servants & Your glory to their children. And let the beauty of the Lord our God, be upon us & You establish the work of our hands upon us. [Yes,] [may] You establish the work of our hands. |
