Instruction a Wise Son Hears |
Proverbs 13:1-25 Proverbs [in Smaller Chunks] |
A wise son hears his father’s instruction: but [someone who looks down on others doesn’t hear correction.] A man shall eat by the good fruit of his mouth: but the [souls of the unfaithful] shall eat violence. [Proverbs 12:14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: & the [reward] of a man’s hands shall be [given] to him.] |
He, [who controls] his mouth [saves] his life: but he, [who] opens his [mouth] wide shall have destruction. [James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of [sin.] So is the tongue among our [bodily] members, [so] that it defiles the whole body & sets on fire the course of nature, and it [leads to the] fire of hell.] |
The [life of the lazy hopes] & has nothing: but the [life] of the diligent shall be made [rich.] A righteous man hates lying: but a wicked man is [detested] & comes to shame. |
Righteousness keeps him [whose way is blameless:] but wickedness overthrows the sinner. There [are those who] make [themselves] rich, [but] have nothing. There [are those who] make [themselves] poor, [but] have great riches. |
The [reward] of a man’s life are his riches: but the poor [does’t] hear [correction.] The light of the righteous [causes rejoicing:] but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. |
[John 1:9-10 That was the True Light, [Who enlightens] every man, [who] comes into the world. He was in the world & the world was made by Him & the world [didn't know] Him.] |
[Arguments] come only by pride: but wisdom is with the well advised. Wealth gotten by [dishonesty] shall be [reduced:] but he [who gathers wealth] by [work] shall increase. |
The heart [is] made sick, [when what is hoped for is delayed,] but when [what was desired] comes, it is a Tree of Life. [Revelation 2:7 He [who has] an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches, To him, [who] overcomes, I will give to eat [from] the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.] |
[Whoever] despises the Word [of God] shall be destroyed: but he [who] fears [respects] the [commandments] shall be rewarded. The Law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. [Revelation 22:16-17 I, Jesus, have sent [My] Angel to testify to you these things in the churches. |
I Am the Root & the Offspring of David & the Bright & Morning Star. And the Spirit & the bride say, Come. And let him, [who] hears say, Come. And let him, [who is thirsty,] come. And [whoever is willing,] let him take the Water of Life freely. ] |
Good understanding, [provides] favor: but the [path] of the [sinners] is hard. Every [cautious] man [acts] with knowledge: but a fool [makes apparent] his [lack of good judgment.] A wicked messenger falls into [trouble:] but a faithful ambassador [leads to] health. |
[Those who] refuse instruction shall [have] poverty & shame: but he [who pays attention to correction] shall be honored. [When] the desire [is] accomplished [it] is sweet to the soul: but fools [consider it an] abomination to [stop from being] evil. |
He [who walks] with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Sinners pursue evil: but good shall be repaid to the righteous. A good man leaves an inheritance to his [grandchildren] & the wealth of the sinner is [stored away] for the [righteous.] |
[Job 27:16-17 Though he [heaps] up silver [like] the dust & [prepares clothing like all the] clay: He may prepare it, but the [righteous] shall put [the clothing] on & the innocent shall divide the silver.] |
[There] is much food [through the plowing] of the poor: but for [the lack] of [good] judgment, [what they have] is destroyed. |
He, [who] spares his rod, hates his son: but he, [who] loves his son, [punishes] him [as needed.] [Revelation 3:19-22 I [reprimand & chastise] as many as I love. Therefore, be zealous & repent. [Watch,] I stand at the door & knock. |
If any man [hears] My voice & opens the door, I will come in to him & will [dine] with him & he with Me. To him, [who] overcomes, I will grant to sit with Me [on] My throne, even [like] I overcame & Am set down with My Father [on] His throne. He, [who] has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.] |
The righteous eat to [satisfy] his soul: but the [stomach] of the wicked shall [be hungry.] [Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun & shield. The Lord will give grace & glory & He won't withhold [any] good thing, from [those who follow righteously.] |
