Psalm 107:1-43 Book# 5 of Psalms [in Smaller Chunks] |
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. For His mercy endures forever. Let the [Lord's] redeemed say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy & gathered them out of the lands: from the east, west, north & the south. |
[Exodus 14:26-29 And the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the [Red] Sea, [so] the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, their chariots & upon their horsemen. And Moeses stretched [out] his hand over the sea & the sea returned to [its] strength [at sunrise] & the Egyptians fled against it. |
And the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. And the waters returned & covered the chariots, the horsemen & all the [army] of Pharaoh, [who went] into the sea after them. [None] remained of them. |
But the children [people] of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the [Red] Sea & the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand & on their left.] |
They wandered in the wilderness [on a lonely road] & they [didn't find any] city to dwell in. [Judges 11:17-18 Then, Israel sent messengers to [Edom's] king, saying, I pray [that] you let me [cross] through your land? But [Edom's] king wouldn't [hear of it.] And in [similar] manner, they sent to [Moab's] king: but he wouldn't [agree to it] & Israel [stayed] in Kadesh. |
Then, they went along through the wilderness & [went around the outside] of the land of Edom & Moab & came by the east side of [Moab's] land & pitched [tents] on the other side of Arnon, put [didn't] come within the border of Moab: for Arnon was the border of Moab.] |
Hungry & thirsty, their [souls] fainted [within] them. Then they cried [out] to the Lord in their trouble & He delivered them out of their [distress.] And He led them [out] by the right [road, so] they might go to a city [to stay in.] |
[Jeremiah 31:9-11 They shall come with weeping & with [prayers] & I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight [road, in which] they shall not stumble: for I am a Father to Israel & Ephraim is My firstborn. |
Hear the Word of the Lord, O you nations & declare it in the [islands far away] & say, He, [Who] scatters Israel will gather [them] & keep [them, like] a shepherd does his flock. For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, [a.k.a. Israel,] from the hand of him, [who] was stronger than he.] |
Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness & for His wonderful works [for] the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul & fills the hungry soul with goodness. |
[Those who] sit in darkness & in the shadow of death, being bound in iron [chains] & [afflicted,] because they rebelled against [God's] Words & [despised] the counsel of the Most High. |
Therefore, He brought down their heart with labor & they fell down & there was [no one] to help. Then, they cried [out] to the Lord in their trouble & He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness & the shadow of death & [broke their chains into pieces.] |
Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness & for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He has broken the brass gates & cut [to pieces] the iron bars. [Isaiah 45:1-2 The Lord [says this] to His anointed, Cyrus, whose right hand I have [held,] to [put under his control the] nations before him. |
And I will [loosen the strength] of kings, to open the 2 [hinged] gates & the gates shall not be shut. I will go before you & make the crooked places straight. I will break in pieces the brass gates & cut [into pieces] the iron bars.] |
Fools are afflicted, because of their [misdeeds & sinfulness.] [Judges 3:5-7 And the children [people] of Israel [lived] among the: Cannanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites & Jebusites & they took their daughters to be their wives & gave their daughters to their sons & served their gods. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord & forgot the Lord their God & served Baalim & the groves.] |
Their soul [loathes] all [types of food] & they draw near the gates of death. Then they [cried out] to the Lord in their trouble & He [saved] them out of their [distress.] He sent His Word & healed them from their [destruction.] [Revelation 21:3-4 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, [Look,] the tabernacle of God is with men. |
And He will [live] with them & they shall be His people. And God, Himself, shall be with them & be their God. *And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. And there shall be nor more death & neither sorrow, nor crying. Neither shall there be any more pain: for the [previous] things are passed away.] |
Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness & for His wonderful works to the children of men! And let them [offer] the sacrifices of [giving thanks] & declare His works with rejoicing. [Those who] go down to the sea in ships, [who] do business in [large] waters: see the works of the Lord & His wonders in the deep [waters.] |
For He commands & raises the stormy wind, [that] lifts up [its] waves. [These waves rise] up to heaven, [then] they go down again to the depths. Their soul [melts] because of trouble. They reel [back & forth] & stagger like a [drunk] man & are at their wit's end. |
Then, they cry [out] to the Lord in their trouble & He brings them out of their [distress.] He makes the storm calm, so that [its] waves are still. Then, they are glad, because they [are peaceful.] So He brings them to their desired [habor.] Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness & for His wonderful works to the children of men! |
Let them also exalt Him in the congregation of the people & praise Him in the assembly of the elders. He turns rivers into a wilderness & the [springing fountains of water] into dry ground. [He turns:] a fruitful land into a [wasteland, because of] the wickedness of [those who live there.] |
He turns the wilderness into [lakes of] water & dry ground into [fountains of water.] And He makes the hungry [live] there, [so] they may yield [plentiful] fruits. He also blesses them, so they are multiplied greatly & [don't] suffer [decline] in their [livestock.] |
[Genesis 17:15-17 And God said to Abraham, As for Sarai, your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. And I will bless her & give you a son, also [from] her. [Yes,] I will bless her & she shall be a mother of nations. |
Kings of people shall be [from] her. Then, Abraham fell upon his face & laughed & said [within] his heart, Shall a child be born to [me,] him [who] is 100 years old? And shall Sarah, [who] is 90 years old, bear [my child?] |
Again, they are [reduced] & brought low through oppression, affliction & sorrow. He pours contempt upon princes & causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no [road.] [Still,] He [puts] the poor on high from affliction & makes [their] families like a flock. |
[Psalm 78:51-53 And [God struck] all the firstborn in Egypt; the [best] of all their strength, in the tabernacles of Ham. But made His own people to go [out] like sheep & guided them in the wilderness like a flock. And He led them on safely, so that they [weren't afraid:] but the [Red] Sea overwhelmed their enemies.] |
The righteous shall see it & rejoice & the mouth [of] all [wicked] shall [cease.] [Whoever] is wise & will [do] these things, even they shall understand the loving kindness of the Lord. |
