A Song of Degrees, [a.k.a. Steps] for Solomon |
Psalm 127:1-5 Book# 5 of Psalms [in Smaller Chunks] |
They labor in vain [who] build, [unless] the Lord [builds] the house. The watchman wakes [up] in vain, [unless,] the Lord [guards] the city. |
It is vain for you to rise up early & to [stay] up late, to eat the bread [in] sorrows: for He gives His beloved sleep. [Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of your face, you shall eat bread, till you return [into] the ground. For out of it, you [were] taken & [into the dirt] you shall return.] |
[Look,] children are an heritage of the Lord & the fruit of the womb is His reward. [Romans 8:15-16 For you haven't received the spirit of bondage again, to fear [respect;] but you have received the Spirit of adoption, [in which] we cry [out,] Abba, Father. The Spirit, Itself bears] witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.] |
[Like] arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of [your] youth. Happy is the man [who] has his [archer's] quiver full of them. [Psalm 128:6 [Yes,] you shall see your children's children & peace upon Israel.] |
They shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. [Proverbs 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.] |
