A Psalm o f David to the Chief Musician. |
Psalm 140:1-13 Book# 5 of Psalms [in Smaller Chunks] |
O Lord, deliver me from the evil man & [safeguard] me from the violent man & [those who] imagine [wickedness] in their heart. They are continually gathered together for war. They have sharpened their tongues like a [snake.] [Cobra's] poison is under their lips. Selah. |
O Lord, keep me from the hands of the wicked & [safeguard] me from the violent man. [Those] who have [planned] to overthrow my goings. [Psalm 17:5 Hold up my goings in Your paths, [so] that my footsteps [don't] slip.] |
The proud have [hidden] a snare for me & [ropes.] They have spread a net by the [roadside.] They [set traps] for me. Selah. I said to the Lord, You are my God. Hear the [sound] of my [prayers,] O Lord. |
O God, the Lord, the strength of my Salvation, You have covered my head [during] the day of battle. O Lord, [don't] grant the desires of the wicked & [don't allow] his wicked [schemes to progress,] lest they exalt themselves. Selah. |
As for the [leader] of those [who surround] me, let the mischief of their own lips, [fall on them to] cover them. Let burning coals fall upon them & let them be cast into the fire & into deep pits, [so] that they [don't] rise up again. |
[Don't] let [someone who speaks] evil be established [on] the earth. Evil shall hunt & overthrow the violent man. I know that the Lord will maintain the [case] of the afflicted & the [rights] of the poor. |
[Revelation 7:15-18 Therefore, they are before the throne of God & serve Him day & night in His temple. And He, [Who] sits on the throne shall dwell amongst them. *They shall no [longer] hunger & neither thirst any more. Neither shall the [sunlight,] nor any heat [scorch] them. |
*For the Lamb, [Who] is in the midst of the throne shall feed them & shall lead them to the Living Fountains of Waters. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.] |
Surely, the righteous shall give thanks to Your Name & the upright shall dwell in Your presence. |
