God Asked Ezekiel to Judge Their Many Abominations |
Ezekiel 22:1-31 The Book of Ezekiel [in Smaller Chunks] |
[Also,] the Word of the Lord came to me, saying, Son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city now? [Yes,] you shall [declare] all her abominations to her. [Ezekiel 23:37-39 They have committed adultery & blood is [on] their hands. And they have committed adultery with their idols. |
And have also caused their sons, whom they [bore] to Me, to pass through the fire to devour them, for [idols.] [Additionally,] they have done this to Me. They have defiled My sanctuary [on] the same day & have [defiled] My Sabbaths. |
For when they had [sacrificed] their children to their idols, then they came the same day into My sanctuary to [defile] it. And [look,] they have done this in the midst of [My] house.] |
Then say, The Lord God says [this;] The city sheds blood in [its] midst & makes idols against [her best interests,] [so] that her time may come. [Psalm 106:34-39 They didn't destroy the nations, [about] whom the Lord commanded them, but were [mixed] among the heathen & learned their works. |
And they served their idols, which were a snare to them. [Yes,] they sacrificed their sons & daughters to [demons,] and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons & daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan & the land was [defiled] with blood. [Like this,] they were defiled with their own works & went with their own inventions, [like unfaithful harlots.] |
You [have] become guilty [by] your [bloodshed,] & have defiled yourself [with] your idols, [that] you have made. And you have caused your days to draw near & even [have] come to [the end of] your years. Therefore, I have made you a [disgrace] to the heathen & [mocked] [by] all countries. |
Those, [who are] near & those, [who are] far from you, shall mock you, [who is] infamous, [a.k.a. notorious,] & [very troubled.] [Look,] the princes of Israel & everyone [who] were in you, shed blood to [the best of] their [abilities.] [Isaiah 1:21 How the faithful city [has] become an [unfaithful] harlot! It was full of [justice] & righteousness [stayed] in it, but now murderers.] |
[Within] you, they have set [a] light by [their] father & mother. They have [treated] the stranger [with] oppression in the midst of you. In you, they have [troubled] the fatherless & the widow. [Malachi 3:5 And I will come near to you [for] judgment. |
And I will be a swift witness against the: sorcerers; adulterers; [those who swear false oaths, a.k.a. slanderers;] & against those [who] oppress the: [hired worker with] his wages, the widow & the fatherless. And [those, who] turn aside the stranger from his [rights] & [don't] fear [respect] Me, says the Lord of Hosts.] |
You have despised [My] holy things & have [defiled] My Sabbaths. [2 Kings 18:16 At that time, Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the [Lord's] temple & from the pillars [that] king Hezekiah had overlaid & gave it to [Assyria's] king.] |
In you, are men, [who] carry [false] tales to shed blood. And [within] you, they eat upon the mountains. They commit [what is] lewdness. [Isaiah 65:7 The Lord says, Therefore I will measure their former [deeds] into their [chest.] [Because of] your [sins] & the [sins] of your [forefathers] together, [who] have burned incense upon the mountains & blasphemed Me upon the hills.] |
In you, they have discovered their fathers' nakedness. In you they have humbled her, [who] was set apart for [being defiled.] And [someone] has committed [adultery] with his neighbor's wife. And another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. |
And another in you has [violated] his sister, his father's daughter. In you, they have taken gifts, [a.k.a. bribes,] to shed blood. You have taken interest & [increased] [profit] & you have greedily gained [from] your neighbors by extortion & have forgotten Me, says the Lord God. |
Therefore, [watch,] I have [struck My hands,] at your dishonest gain, [that] you have made, & at your [bloodshed that] has been in the midst of you. [Ezekiel 21:17 I will also [strike My] hands together & I will cause My fury to rest. I, the Lord, have said it.] |
Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, [during] the days that I shall deal with you? I, the Lord, have spoken it & will do it. And I will scatter you among the heathen & [distribute] you in the countries & will [remove] your filthiness [from] you. |
And you shall take your inheritance [for] yourself in the sight of the heathen & you shall know that I Am the Lord. [Exodus 7:5 And the Egyptians shall know that I Am the Lord, when I stretch [out My] hand upon Egypt & bring out the children [people] of Israel from among them.] |
And the Word of the Lord came to me, saying, Son of man, the house of Israel [has] become [sludge] to Me. They are all brass; tin; iron & lead, in the midst of the furnace. They are even the [sludge] of silver. [Jeremiah 6:28-30 They are all grievous revolters, [following] with [those who slander.] |
They are brass & iron & they are all corrupters. The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed [by] the fire. The founder melts in vain; for the wicked are not [pulled] away. Men shall call them [refused] silver, because the Lord has rejected them.] |
Therefore, the Lord God says [this;] Because you all [have] become [sludge,] therefore [watch,] I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. [Like] they gather silver; brass; iron; lead; & tin, into the midst of the furnace to blow fire upon it, to melt it. |
I will [also] gather you in [My] anger & My fury & I will leave you there & melt you. [Jeremiah 9:7 Therefore, the Lord of Hosts says [this; Watch,] I will melt them & [test] them. For [what] [more] shall I do for the daughter of My people?] |
[Yes,] I will gather you & blow upon you in the fire of My [anger] & you shall be melted in the midst [of it.] [Like] silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall you be melted in the midst [of it.] And you shall know that I, the Lord, have poured out My furry upon you. |
[Ezekiel 20:8-9 But they rebelled against Me & wouldn't [pay attention] to Me. Every man didn't [throw] away the abominations of their eyes & neither did they [abandon] the idols of Egypt. Then, I said, I will pour out My fury upon them, to [carry out] My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. |
But I [worked] [miracles,] for My Name's sake, [so] that [they wouldn't] be [defiled, in front of] the heathen they were among & in whose sight I made Myself known to them, [by] bringing them out of the land of Egypt.] |
And the Word of the Lord came to me, saying, Son of man, say to her, You are the land that isn't cleansed, nor rained upon [on] the day of indignation. [Zephaniah 3:1-2 Woe to her, the oppressing city, [who] is filthy & [defiled!] She [didn't obey] [His] voice & she [didn't receive] correction. She [didn't trust] in the Lord & she [didn't draw] near to her God.] |
There is a conspiracy of her prophets, like a roaring lion [raveging] the prey, in the midst [of it.] They have devoured the souls, [a.k.a. lives] & they have taken the treasure & precious things. They have made many widows in the midst of her there. |
[2 Kings 16:8 And Ahaz took the silver & gold that was found in the [Lord's] house & in the treasures of the king's house & sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.] |
Her priests have violated My Law & have [defiled My] holy things. They have put no difference between the holy & [wicked.] Neither have they [shown a] difference between the unclean & the clean & have [hidden] their eyes from My Sabbaths & I Am [defiled] among them. |
In the midst of it, her princes are like [ravenous] wolves, [ravaging] the prey, to shed blood; & to destroy [lives,] to get dishonest gain. [Micah 3:11 The [leaders of it,] judge for reward, [a.k.a. bribes; its] priests teach for [pay;] & the prophets [of it] divine for money. [Still,] they will lean upon the Lord & say, Isn't the Lord among us? [No calamity] can come upon us.] |
And her prophets have [plastered] them with [uncured mortar,] seeing [what is] vanity & diving lies to them, saying, The Lord Gods says [this;] when the Lord hasn't spoken. [Ezekiel 13:10-11 Because, even because they have seduced My people, saying, Peace & there wasn't [any] peace. |
And one built up a wall, & [look,] others [plastered] it with [uncured mortar.] Say to [those, who plaster] it with [uncured mortar,] O you, a stormy wind shall [break] it, [so] that it shall fall. There shall be an overflowing shower & shall fall [like] [large] hailstones.] |
The people of the land have used oppression & [utilized] robbery & have [troubled] the poor & needy. [Yes,] they have wrongfully oppressed the stranger. And I sought for a man among them, [who would tear down] the hedge & stand in the gap, for the land, before Me, so I [wouldn't] destroy it: but I found none. |
[Psalm 106:23-25] Therefore, He said that He would destroy them, hadn't Moses, His chosen, stood before Him in the breach, [a.k.a. gap,] to turn away His [anger,] lest He should destroy them. [Yet,] they despised the pleasant land & they [didn't] believe His Word: but [grumbled] in their tents & [didn't pay attention] to His voice.] |
Therefore, I have poured out [My] indignation upon them. I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath. I have [repaid] them, [according to] their own [ways,] upon their heads, says the Lord God. |
[Revelation 22:12-15 *And, [watch,] I come quickly & My reward shall be to give to every man according as his [deeds.] I Am [the] Alpha & [the] Omega, the Beginning & the End, the First & the Last. |
Blessed are [those, who] do His commandments, [so] that they may have right to the Tree of Life & may enter in through the gates into the city. For [outside] are: dogs; sorcerers; [sexual traffickers;] murderers; idolaters; & [whoever] loves & makes [up lies.] |
