The One Time Offering that Leads to Eternal Life |
Hebrews 10:1-39 Paul's Epistle to the Hebrews [in Smaller Chunks] |
For the Law [of Moses,] [foreshadowed, a.k.a. foretold,] of good things to come, [but] not the [exact] image of [those] things. [The priests,] [who] continually offered, year by year, can never make [those who came there] perfect with those sacrifices. For [if they had made the people perfect,] then, wouldn't they have [stopped being] offered? |
Because once purged, [a.k.a. cleansed,] the worshippers, [would] no [longer] have had [awareness] of sins. But in those sacrifices, remembrance, [a.k.a. being brought to mind] again, is made [for] sins every year. For it isn't possible that the blood of bulls & goats [could] take away sins. [Isaiah 1:11-14 The Lord [says,] To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me? I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, & the fat of fed [animals.] I [don't] delight in the blood of [bulls,] lambs, or [male] goats. Who has required this at your hand, when you come to appear before Me, & [trample] My [courtyards?] Bring no more vain, [a.k.a. worthless, offerings.] Incense is an abomination to Me. I cannot [endure] [the services for:] the New Moons, Sabbaths, & the calling of [the] assemblies. It is [sinful,] even the solemn meeting. My soul [hates] your New Moons, & your appointed feasts. They are a trouble to Me; & I am weary, [a.k.a. tired,] [of] bearing, [a.k.a. putting up with] them.] |
*[For this reason,] when [Jesus Christ came] into the world, He [said,] You [don't want sacrifices & offerings,] but You [have] prepared a body [for] Me. You [have] had no pleasure in burnt offerings & sacrifices for sin. [Psalm 51:16-17 *For You [don't desire sacrifices;] else I would give it. You [don't delight] in burnt [offerings.] The sacrifices [for] God, are a broken spirit, & a broken & contrite, [a.k.a. repentant,] heart, You won't despise [these,] O God.] |
Then, I said, [Look,] I come to do Your will, O God. It is written [about] Me, in the volume of the Book, [a.k.a. The Word of God.] [About] when He said, You [don't want: sacrifices, offerings,] burnt offerings, & offerings for sin, & neither [do You] [have] pleasure [in those things, that] are offered [according to] the Law [of Moses.] [Psalm 40:6-8 *You [don't] desire [sacrifices & offerings.] You [have] opened [My] ears. You [haven't] required burnt [offerings,] & sin [offerings.] Then, I said, [Look,] I come. It is written [about] Me in the volume, [a.k.a. scroll,] of Book. I delight to do Your will, O My God. [Yes,] Your Law is within My heart.] |
*Then [Jesus Christ] said, I come to do Your will, O God. He [takes] away the 1st [Covenant, a.k.a. contract,] [so] that He may establish the 2nd [Covenant.] By which, we are sanctified through the offering of Jesus [Christ's] body, once for all. [Ephesians 5:25-26 Husbands, love your wives, even [like] Christ also loved the church, & gave Himself for [the church.] [So] that, [Christ] might sanctify & cleanse it, with the washing of water [through] the Word [of God.] |
And every priest [stands] daily ministering & offering the same sacrifices [often,] which can never take away sins. *But [Jesus Christ, born as a] Man, after He had offered [Himself as] one sacrifice for sins forever, & sat down on the right hand of God. *From [then on, waiting until] [God made] His enemies, His footstool. [Psalm 110:1 *The Lord said to my Lord, You sit at My right hand [side,] until I make Your enemies Your footstool.] |
For by one offering, He [has] perfected [those, who] are sanctified forever. [For this reason,] the Holy Ghost, [a.k.a. Holy Spirit,] is also a witness [about] Us. For after that, He said, [what God said] before. *This is the Covenant that I will make with them, after those days, [says] the Lord. I will put My Laws into their hearts, & I will write them in their minds. And I will no [longer] remember their sins & iniquities. [Jeremiah 31:33-34 * But this shall be the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. The Lord [says,] After those days, I will put My Law [within] them, & write it [within] their hearts; & will be their God, & they shall be My people. *And no [longer] shall every man teach: his neighbor & his brother, saying, Know the Lord. For they shall all know Me, from the [powerless] to the [powerful] of them, [says] the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, & I will no [longer] remember their sin.] |
Now, where [there] is remission, [a.k.a. forgiveness,] of [sins,] there is no [other] sin offering [needed.] Therefore brethren, [a.k.a. fellow-believers,] by having [forgiveness through] the blood of Jesus, [boldly] enter into the Holiest [Place.] [Through] living a new way, [that Jesus Christ has] consecrated, [a.k.a. sanctified,] for us, through, the veil, that is to say, [through the sacrifice of:] [Jesus Christ's] flesh. [John 14:6-7 Jesus [said] to him, I Am the Way, the Truth, & the Life. No man [comes] to the Father, [except] by Me. If you had known Me, you should have known My Father, [as well.] And from [now on,] you know Him, & have seen Him.] |
And having [Jesus Christ as] [a] HIgh Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart, [away] from an evil conscience, [so we shall be] fully [assured through] faith [in our Lord's forgiving grace,] having our hearts sprinkled, [by the blood He shed on the cross for us,] & our bodies washed in pure water. [Leviticus 4:5-6 And the priest [who] is anointed shall take the [bull's] blood, & bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, & sprinkle the blood 7 times before the Lord, [in front of] the [veil] of the sanctuary.] |
Let us hold fast, [a.k.a. tight to,] the profession of our faith, without wavering. [James 1:5-7 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask [for it] [from] God, [Who gives] [wisdom] to all men liberally, [a.k.a. freely,] & [doesn't] [scold.] And it shall be given to him. But let him ask in faith, [not] wavering. For he [who wavers] is like a wave of the sea, driven [by] the wind, & tossed. For [don't] let that man think that he shall [deserve] anything from the Lord.] |
(For [the Lord God, Who] promised, is faithful.) And let us [be] [considerate] [to] one another, [provoking, a.k.a. producing,] love & good works, [a.k.a. deeds.] [Don't abandon] assembling ourselves together, [like] some [do.] But exhorting, [a.k.a. encouraging,] one another, & so much more, as you see the Day [of Judgment] approaching. [1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 But brethren, [a.k.a. fellow-believers,] you have no need that I write to you [about] the times & the seasons. For [you,] yourselves know perfectly, that the Day of the Lord, [comes like] a thief in the night.] |
For if we willfully, [a.k.a. deliberately,] sin, after we have received the knowledge of the Truth. [John 8:31-32 Then, Jesus said to those Jews, [who] believed [in] Him, If you continue in My Word, then you are indeed My disciples. And you shall know the Truth, & the Truth shall make you free.] |
[Then,] there no [longer remains] [a] sacrifice for sins. But [only] certain, [a.k.a. unquestionable, fear] [looking for [the Day of] Judgment, & the fiery indignation, [a.k.a. anger aroused from injustice,] [remains,] which shall devour the adversaries, [a.k.a. enemies,] [of the Lord God.] |
[Galatians 1:6-8 I marvel that you are so [quickly] removed to another gospel, from Him, [Who] called you into the grace of Christ. [There] is no other [Gospel about Christ,] but there are some, [who] trouble you, & would [distort] the Gospel of Christ. But though, [if] we, or an angel from heaven, [preaches] any other gospel to you than [what] we have preached to you, let him be [cursed.] |
He, [who] despised Moses' Law, died without mercy, [with] 2 or 3 witnesses. How much [more] [severe] punishment, [do] you suppose shall be [to] he, [who is] thought worthy, & who [has trampled] the Son of God under foot, & [has considered] the blood of the Covenant, [with which] he was sanctified, [to be] an unholy thing, & [treated] the [Holy] Spirit of Grace, [spitefully?] |
For we know that [in the Scriptures it is recorded that,] [God has] said, Vengeance [belongs] to Me. & I will [repay] [them,] [says] the Lord. [Deuteronomy 32:35 Vengeance & [repayment belong] to Me. Their foot shall slide, [a.k.a. slip,] in due time. For the day of their calamity is at hand. And the things that shall [happen] [to] them, [hurry.] |
And again, [in the Scriptures it says,] The Lord shall judge His people. It's a fearful thing, to fall into the hand of the Living God. [Deuteronomy 32:36-37 For the Lord shall judge His people, & [grieve] Himself for His servants, when He [sees] that their power is gone, & there is [no one] shut up, or left. And He shall say, Where are their gods, & their rock in whom they trusted?] |
But [remember] the [previous] days, in which, you endured a great [struggle] [with] afflictions, [a.k.a. hardships,] after you were [already] [enlightened] [through faith in Jesus Christ.] [Galatians 3:3-5 Are you so foolish? Having begun in [the faith] [through] the [Holy] Spirit, are you now [perfected] by the [sinful] flesh? Have you suffered so many things in vain? If [so, it's still] [in] vain. Therefore, [the Lord God, Who ministers,] to you [through] the [Holy] Spirit, & [works] miracles among you, [does God] [do] it by the works, [a.k.a. deeds,] of the Law, or [through] hearing [about] [the] faith [in Jesus Christ?] |
Partly, [while] you were both; made a [laughing-stock] by [disgrace] & afflictions, & partly, [while] you became [friends] of [those, who] were [also] used, [a.k.a. manipulated.] |
For you had compassion [on] me in my bonds, [a.k.a. chains,] & joyfully took & [shared] your goods, [like] [plunder,] knowing [within] yourselves, that you have a better & enduring substance in heaven. [Acts 20:35 I have [declared] all things [to] you & how you ought to support the weak, by [working,] & to remember the Word of the Lord Jesus, & how He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.] |
Therefore, [don't throw] away your confidence, [in Salvation through Jesus Christ,] which [has] [a] [greater] reward of [repayment.] [Matthew 5:12 For they [also] persecuted the prophets, [who] were before, [a.k.a. prior to,] you. Rejoice, & be [exceedingly] glad. For great is your reward in heaven.] |
For you need [to] have patience, [so] that, after you have done [God's] will, you might receive the promise. [John 3:15-17 That [whoever] believes in Him should not perish, but have Eternal Life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, [so] that, [whoever] believes in Him, should not perish, but have Everlasting Life. For God [didn't send] His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.] |
*For, [still] a little while, & [Jesus Christ, Who] shall come, will come, & [won't] tarry, [a.k.a. linger.] [2 Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack, [a.k.a. slow, about] His promise, [like] some men [consider] slackness; but is [patient toward] us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. *But the day of the Lord will come [like] a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, & the elements shall melt with fervent heat; the earth, & also the works, [a.k.a. things made,] that are [in there,] shall be burned up.] |
Now the just shall live by faith. But if any man [draws, a.k.a. turns,] back, [from his faith in Jesus Christ,] my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we aren't of [those] who [turn] back, [which leads] to perdition. [2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come by any means, [unless] there [comes] a falling away 1st, & that man of sin [is] revealed, the son of perdition.] |
But [those, who] believe [leads] to the saving of the soul. |
