About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:

Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV. Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning. For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.

The Table Format:

The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.

Pharaoh Wants the Midwives to Kill the Hebrew Male Babies

Exodus 1:1-22            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

God renamed Jacob, Israel] & these are the names of his children who came with him & their households to Egypt [during the severe famine]: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad & Asher.

[All these 70 were the sons Jacob [fathered] & their families: for Joseph was in Egypt already. Joseph, his [brothers] & all that generation died. The children of Israel were fruitful & multiplied & increased abundantly & [grew] exceedingly mighty & the land was filled with them.

Now there arose a new king over Egypt [who] didn't know Joseph. He said to his people, Behold, people of the children of Israel are more & mightier than we [are].Come let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply & when [a war breaks out] they join our enemies & fight against us, [so they can leave] the land.

Therefore they set task masters over the [Israelites] to afflict them with their burdens. They built [supply] cities Pithom & Raamses for the Pharaoh. The more they afflicted the [Israelites], the more they multiplied & grew.

The Egyptians were grieved because of the [Israelites] & made them serve with rigor & made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, brick & all manner of service in the field, all with rigor.

Then the king [Pharaoh] spoke to the Hebrew midwives: Shiphrah & Puah & told them, When, as a midwife, you see the Hebrew women on the [birthing] stools, it it is a son, they should kill him, but let the daughters live.

The midwives feared [the Lord] God & [didn’t do] what the king commanded [of] them, but saved the [male] children alive. The king of Egypt called for the midwives & said, Why have you done this thing & saved the [male] babies alive?

They told the Pharaoh, The Hebrew women are [more] lively [than] the Egyptian women & have [already given birth before they get] to them. Therefore the Lord God dwelt well with the midwives & the [Israelites] multiplied & grew very mighty. The Pharaoh [commanded] all his people saying, Every [Hebrew] son [who] is born shall be cast into the river & every daughter shall [stay] alive.

Moses is Hidden in an Ark & Pharaoh’s Daughter Rescues Him

Exodus 2:1-25            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

A man of the house of Levi [married] a daughter of a [Levite] & [she] conceived & bore a [healthy, beautiful] son & hid him for 3 months. When she could no longer hide him, [his mother] took an ark of bulrushes & daubed it inside & out with slime & pitch [to keep it water tight].

She put the child in it & laid it in the [reed by the river’s edge. His sister watched [from a distance] to [know] what would [happen] to him. The Pharaoh’s daughter came to [bathe] in the river & her maidens walked along the side of the river. When she saw the ark among the [reeds], she sent her maid to [get] it.

When she opened it, she saw the child & the baby wept & she had compassion on him & said, This is one of the Hebrew’s children. Then [baby’s] sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go & call you a nurse of the Hebrew women, [so] that she may nurse the child for you? She told [his sister], Go [get one].

The maid called the [child’s] mother. The Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Take this child away & nurse [him] for me & I will pay you your wages. The woman took the child & nursed [him] & the child grew until she brought him to the Pharaoh’s daughter & he became her son.

She named him Moses, because she drew him out of the water. When Moses was grown, he went to [see] his brethren & [saw] their burdens. He [saw] an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. [After looking both ways] & seeing no [one looking], Moses killed the Egyptian & hid him in the sand.

When he [Moses] went out the next day, 2 Hebrew men [were fighting] & [Moses] said, [Why are] you [striking your companion]? He said, Who made you a prince & a judge over us? [Do you] intend to kill me [like] you killed the Egyptian? Moses was [fearful] & said, Surely this thing is known.

The Pharaoh sought to [kill] Moses when he heard of this, but Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh & dwelt in the land of the Midian & he sat down by a well . The priest of Midian had 7 daughters, [who] came & drew water & filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.

[Then] the shepherds came & drove them away; but Moses stood up & helped them & watered their flock. When they got back to their father, Reuel, he said, How [did you finish] so early today?

They said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds & also drew enough water for us, & watered the flock. He asked his daughters, Why is it that you have left the man?

Call him, that he may [come &] eat bread. Moses was content to live with the man & he gave his daughter, Zipporah, to Moses [as his wife]. She bore him a son & named him Gershom: for I [Moses] have been a stranger in a strange land.

In time, the king of Egypt died & the children of Israel [groaned] & cried out, because of their bondage. God heard their groaning & God remembered His covenant with Abrahm, Isaac & Jacob & the Lord God looked upon the children of Israel & [took notice of it].

God Calls Moses from the Midst of a Burning Bush

Exodus 3:1-22            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Moses was [tending] the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian & & led them to the back of the desert to Horeb & the mountain of God. The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. [Although] the bush was burning with fire, the bush was not consumed [burnt].

Moses wanted to see this sight & why the bush [didn’t] burn. When the Lord saw that Moses turned aside to see, God called him from the midst of the bush & Moses said, Here I am. God told him, Don’t come [close] & take off your shoes & for the place where you stand is holy ground.

He said, I am the God of your father- Abraham, Isaac & Jacob. Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God. The Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people [who] are in Egypt & I have heard their cry, [because] of their task masters, for I know their sorrows.

I [have] come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians & to bring them up from that land to a good, large land flowing with milk & honey, to the place of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hevites & the Jebusites.

The cry of the children of Israel [has] come to Me & I have seen [their] oppression [from the] Egyptians. Come now & I will send you to Pharaoh so you [may] bring forth My people, the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Moses [asked] God, Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh & I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt? [The Lord God] said, I will certainly be with you & this will be a [sign] to you that I have sent you: When you bring the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.

Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the children of Israel & say, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; they shall say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? God said to Moses, I Am That I Am: and He said, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM [has] sent me to you.

Moreover God said to Moses, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob [has] sent me to you. This is My name forever & this is My memorial to all generations.

Go & gather the elders of Israel together & say, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob appeared to me saying, I have surely visited you & seen [what] is done to you in Egypt.

I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites & Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk & honey.

They will [listen] your voice & you shall come, you & the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt & you shall say to him, The Lord God of the Hebrews has met with us & now, let us go, we beg you, 3 days journey into the wilderness, [so] that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.

*I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, not even by a mighty hand. [So] I [the Lord God] will stretch out My hand & [strike] Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in [its] midst & after that, he will let you go. [God foretells to Moses what will happen before Pharaoh lets them go.]

*I will give the [Israelites] favor in the sight of the Egyptians & it shall come to pass, when you [leave] you shall not go [away empty handed]. [God foretells ahead exactly what happens when the Israelite women borrow items from the Egyptians.]

But every woman shall borrow [from] her neighbor & those who [reside] in her house for [articles] of jewelry: silver, gold & clothing & you shall put them on your sons & daughters. So you shall [plunder] the Egyptians.

Moses is Unsure About Leading the Hebrews, but God Reassures Him

Exodus 4:1-31            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Moses answered, [Suppose] they [don’t] believe me or [won’t listen] to my voice: for they will say, The Lord has not appeared to you. So the Lord [asked] him, What is in your hand? [Moses] said, A rod [The Lord God told] Moses to cast it on the ground & it became a serpent & Moses fled from it.

The Lord said to Moses, Reach out your hand & take it [serpent] by its tail, [which Moses did] & it became a rod in his hand. The Lord said, [This is so] they believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob has appeared to you.

The Lord said to [Moses], Put his hand in his bosom & when he [took] it out, his hand was leperous like snow. [The Lord God] said, Put your hand in your bosom again & [when he drew it back out], behold, it was [restored] like the other flesh.

[Then] if they don’t believe you or [listen] to the message of the 1st sign, they may believe the [following] sign. If they [don’t] believe those 2 signs or [listen to you], you shall take water from the [Nile] River & pour it on the dry land & the water will become blood upon the dry land.

Moses said to the Lord, O my Lord, I am not [an] eloquent [speaker] & I am slow of speech & tongue & [have been since before you spoke to me]. The Lord said to him, Who [has] made man’s mouth? Or who makes the [mute], the deaf, the seeing, or the blind?

Have not I, the Lord? Now therefore go & I will be with your mouth & teach you what you shall say. [Moses] said, O my Lord, I pray, please [send someone else]. The anger of the Lord was [growing] against Moses & He said, Isn’t Aaron, the Levite, your brother?

I know he speaks well & look he is coming to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. You shall speak to him [Aaron] & put the words in his mouth & I [the Lord God] will be with your mouth & his mouth & I will teach you what you shall do.

[Aaron] shall be your spokesman to the people [in your place] & you shall be to [Aaron] in [God’s place]. You shall take this rod in your hand to do the signs. Moses returned to his father-in-law, Jethro & asked to return to Egypt to see if his brethren are still alive & Jethro told him, Go in peace.

The Lord said to Moses in Midian, Go, return to Egypt, [because] all the men who sought to [kill him] are dead. Moses took his wife & set his 2 sons on a donkey & returned to the land of Egypt.

Moses took the rod of God in his hand & the Lord said to Moses, When you go to Egypt [make sure] you do all those wonders before Pharaoh [with the rod] I have put in your hand. But I will harden his heart & he will not let the people go. You shall say to Pharaoh, The Lord says, Israel is My son.

My firstborn; and I say to you, let My son go, [so] that he may serve Me. If you refuse to let him go, I will slay your son, your firstborn. It came to pass, at their [lodging by the road], the Lord met him & sought to kill him.

[Then Moses’ wife], Zipporah, took a sharp stone & cut off the foreskin of her son & cast it at [Moses’] feet & said, Surely you are a bloody husband to me! So He [the Lord God] let him [Moses] go. Then she said, You are a bloody husband, because of the circumcision.

The Lord told Aaron, Go & meet Moses in the wilderness. He went & met [Moses] on the mountain of God & kissed him. Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who had sent him & all the signs which the Lord had commanded him. [Then] Moses & Aaron gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.

Aaron spoke all the words the Lord had spoken to Moses & did the signs in the sight of the people & [they] believed when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel & He [the Lord] had looked on their affliction. Then, they bowed their heads & worshiped.

Pharaoh Won’t Let the Hebrews Go When Moses & Aaron Ask Him

Exodus 5:1-23            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Afterward, Moses & Aaron went in & told Pharaoh, Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Let My people go that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness. Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I [don’t] know the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.

So they said, The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Let us go, we pray, on a 3 day journey into the desert & sacrifice to the Lord our God, lest He fall on us with pestilence or with the sword.

The king of Egypt [Pharaoh] asked Moses & Aaron why they were taking the people from their work & told them to get back to their [burdensome jobs]. Pharaoh [was upset that they made] the many [Israelites] of the land rest from their [burdensome jobs].

Pharaoh commanded the task masters & their officers the same day, saying, You shall no [longer] give the people the straw [needed] to make the brick [as in the past]. Let them now go & gather the straw for themselves & they [will still have the same quota of bricks that they had before & you shall not reduce it].

They for they [are] idle, therefore they cry, saying, Let us go & sacrifice to our God. Let them have [even more work] laid on the men. The taskmasters & their officers [told the people what the Pharaoh commanded] & the people were scattered throughout the land of Egypt [gathering] stubble instead of straw.

The taskmasters forced them to hurry & fulfill their [daily quota] & beat [them if they didn’t]. The officers of the children of Israel cried out to Pharaoh asking why are you [treating us, your servants like this?]

No straw is given to your servants & they say to us, Make bricks & indeed your servants are beaten, but the fault is in your own people. [Pharaoh] said, You are [too] idle & [asked to] go sacrifice to the Lord & said, [back to your work & no straw shall be given you.

He said, You shall [still deliver the same daily quota] of bricks. The officers of the children of Israel met Moses & Aaron who stood in the way there to meet them, as they [left from] the Pharaoh.

They told [Moses], The Lord look on you & judge, because you have made us [hated] in the [sight] of the Pharaoh & his servants, [enough] to put a sword in their hands to [kill] us. Moses returned to the Lord & said, Lord, [why have] You [brought trouble] on this people?

Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he [has] done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.

The Lord Will Rescue the Children of  Israel from Their Burdens

Exodus 6:1-30            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord said to Moses, Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand he will let them go & drive them out of his land. God spoke to Moses & said, I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, Isaac & Jacob by the name of God Almighty, but my name Jehovah wasn’t known to them.

I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, they were strangers in the land of their pilgrimage. I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage & I have remembered My covenant.

[Therefore] say to the children of Israel, I am the Lord & I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians & I will [rescue] you out of their bondage & I will redeem you with an outstretched arm & great judgments. I will take you as My people & I will be your God.

You will know that I am the Lord your God, [who] brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians & I will bring you to the land I swore to give Abraham, Isaac & Jacob & I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the Lord.

Moses [said this] to the children of Israel, but they didn’t [pay attention] [because] of their anguish of spirit & cruel bondage. The Lord spoke to Moses saying, Go in & [tell] Pharaoh, king of Egypt, [to] let the children of Israel go out of his land.

Moses told the Lord, The children of Israel [haven’t paid attention] to [what I said], how shall Pharaoh [pay attention] to me, because I’m of uncircumcised lips? The Lord gave Moses & Aaron a [command] for the children of Israel & to Pharaoh to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

These are the heads of their father’s houses: [Jacob/Israel’s firstborn:] Reuben’s sons: Hancock, Pallu, Hezron & Carmi; Simeon’s sons: Jemuel [a.k.a. Nemuel], Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar & Shau, the son of a Canaanite woman;

…Levi who lived to be 137 years old & his sons according to their generations: Gershon, Kohath & Merari. Gershon’s sons: Libni & Shimi; Kohath who lived to be 133 years old & his sons: Amram, Izhar, Hebron & Uzziel; Merari’s sons: Mahli & Mushi.

Amron who lived to be 137 years old,  married Jochebed, his father’s sister & she bare him: Aaron & Moses; The sons of Izhar were: Korah, Nepheg & Zichri; The the sons of Uzziel of the house of Levi were: Mishael, Elzaphan & Zithri.

Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon & she bore him: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar & Ithamar. The sons of Korah were: Assir, Elkanah & Abiasaph & these are the families of the Korahites. [Aaron’s son] Eleazar’s son married one of the daughters of Putiel & she bore him: Phineas.

These are the heads of their fathers of the Levites according to their families. These are the same Aaron & Moses to whom the Lord said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.

They, Moses & Aaron, spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt. It came to pass on the day when the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, I am the Lord, speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt all that I say to you & Moses said to the Lord, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips & how shall Pharaoh [listen] to me?

Moses Turns Water to Blood & the Fish Die

Exodus 7:1-25           The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord said to Moses: See, I have made you [like] God to Pharaoh & your brother, Aaron, shall be [your] prophet & you shall speak all that I command you & Aaron shall [tell] Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of his land.

I [the Lord God] will harden Pharaoh’s heart & multiply My signs & wonders in the land of Egypt, but Pharaoh [won’t pay attention to] you, [so] that I may lay My hand on Egypt & bring My armies & My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

The Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt & bring out the children of Israel from among them & they did just as the Lord had commanded them. Moses was 80 & Aaron was 83 years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.

The Lord spoke to Moses & Aaron, saying, When Pharaoh says to you, Shew a miracle for [us], then you [Moses] shall say to Aaron, Take your rod & cast it before Pharaoh & it shall become a serpent & they did as the Lord commanded [& Aaron’s rod became a serpent.

Then Pharaoh called the wise men, sorcereres & magicians of Egypt who did [the same thing] with their enchantments for they [all] cast down [their] rods & they became serpents, but [the serpent of] Aaron’s rod swallowed up the [serpents] of their rods.

The Pharaoh’s heart became hardened & he didn’t [pay attention] to them as the Lord had said. The Lord told Moses that the Pharaoh’s heart is hardened & he [refuses] to let the people go.

[The Lord told] Moses, Go [with your rod in your hand to meet with] Pharaoh in the morning by the river’s brink & say to him, The Lord God of the Hebrews [has] sent me to you, saying, Let My people go, [so] that they may serve Me in the wilderness, [but you wouldn’t hear].

The Lord says, [By] this you shall know I am the Lord & I will [strike] the waters in the river with the rod in my hand & they shall be turned to blood & the fish in the river will die & the river will stink & the Egyptians will [hate] to drink the water of the river.

The Lord spoke to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your rod & stretch out your hand over the waters, streams, rivers, ponds & pools of water in Egypt, [so] that they will become blood & there will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt & both buckets of wood & pitchers of stone [that had held water].

Moses & Aaron did as the Lord [had] commanded & he lifted up the rod & smote the waters in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh & all the water turned to blood. The fish in the river died & the river stank & all the Egyptians couldn’t drink the water of the river & there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

Pharaoh’s heart was hardened & went into his house & [he didn’t pay attention to them], as the Lord had said, because the magicians of Egypt did [the same thing] with their enchantments.

The Egyptians [dug] around the river to get water to drink, [because] they couldn’t drink the water of the river. 7 days [passed] since the Lord had [struck] the river.

Pharaoh Didn’t Let the Children of Israel Go, So God Sent Frogs

Exodus 8:1-32            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord spoke to Moses, Go to Pharaoh & tell him, Thus [said] the Lord, Let My people go, [so] that they may serve Me. If you refuse to let them go, I [the Lord God] will smite all your borders with frogs.

The river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which  shall come into your house, your [bedroom], on your bed & into the houses of your servants, on your people, into your ovens & into your kneading [bowls]. The frogs shall come upon you, your people & your servants.

The Lord spoke to Moses, Say to Aaron, Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, rivers & ponds & cause the frogs to come up on the land of Egypt & he did so. The  magicians of Egypt were also able to bring frogs on the land of Egypt with their enchantments.

Then Pharaoh called for Moses & Aaron & said, [Ask] the Lord to take away the frogs from me & my people & I will let the people go & sacrifice to the Lord. Moses said he would [ask] for Pharaoh, his servants & his people to destroy the frogs & remain only in the rivers.

[Moses] said, Tomorrow, so that Pharaoh would know there is [no one] like the Lord our God. [After they left], Moses cried out to the Lord, because of the frogs which He had brought against Pharaoh.

The Lord did according to the words of Moses so that the frogs died out of the houses, villages & fields & had to be gathered together [in] heaps, which stank. When Pharaoh saw there was [relief from the frogs] he hardened his heart & did not [did not listen to them], as the Lord had said.

The Lord said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Stretch out your rod & [strike] the dust of the land, so that it may become lice throughout the land of Egypt & they did so & the dust of the land of Egypt became lice on man & beast.

The Egyptian magicians [tried to bring forth lice with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they couldn’t , so there was lice on man & beast. The magicians told Pharaoh, This is the finger of God. Pharaoh’s heart was hardened & he did not [pay attention to] them, just as the Lord had said.

The Lord told Moses, Rise up early & stand before Pharaoh when he goes to the water & say to him, The Lord says, Let My people go, [so] that they may serve Me, or else if you won’t let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, your servants, your people & into your houses & also the ground.

In that day I [the Lord God] will set apart the land of Goshen where My people dwell, that no flies shall be there so you may know that I am the Lord in the midst of the earth & I will make a division between My people & your people. This sign shall be tomorrow.

The Lord did so & [thick] swarms of flies came into the house of Pharaoh, his servant’s houses & into all the land of Egypt & the land was corrupted, because of the swarms of flies.

Pharaoh called for Moses & Aaron & said, Go & sacrifice to your God in the land, but Moses said that they would be stoned if they sacrificed the abomination of the Egyptians. [Instead] they will go 3 day’s journey into the wilderness & will sacrifice to the Lord our God as He commands us.

Pharaoh said, I will let you go, [so] that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness, but they shouldn’t go very far away & [ask God] for me about having the swarm of flies depart].

Moses said that he would [ask] the Lord that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh & his people tomorrow, but told him not to deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.

Moses asked the Lord who did according to the word of Moses & removed all the flies from Pharaoh, his servants & his people & there remained none, but Pharaoh hardened his heart [again] & would not let the people go.

The Lord Had the Egyptian Livestock Die When Pharaoh Wouldn’t Let Israel Go

Exodus 9:1-35            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Then the Lord said to Moses, God in to Pharaoh & tell him, The Lord God of the Hebrews said, Let My people go, [so] they can serve Me & if you refuse to let them go & still hold them, behold, the hand of the Lord will be on your [livestock] in the field & there will be a [severe] pestilence on them.

The Lord will [keep apart] the [livestock] of Israel & the [livestock of Egypt & none of the livestock of Israel will die tomorrow when the Lord shall do this thing. The Lord did [it] the next day & all the [livestock] of Egypt died, but none of the [Israelite’s].

Pharaoh’s heart was hardened & he did not let the people go. The Lord told Moses & Aaron, Take handfuls of ashes [from] the furnace & let Moses sprinkle it toward heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.

It shall become [fine] dust in all the land of Egypt & it will cause boils & sores to break out on man & beast throughout all the land of Egypt. Moses did this & sprinkled the ashes toward heaven before Pharaoh & boils & sores began to break out on man & beast.

The magicians couldn’t stand before Moses, because the boils were on them & all the Egyptians, but the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart & he didn’t [pay attention to ] them, just as the Lord had told Moses.

The Lord told Moses, Rise early & stand before Pharaoh & [tell] him, Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let My people go, [so] that they can serve Me. For this time I [the Lord God] will send all My plagues to your heart & on your servants & your people, [so] that you will know there is none like Me [the Lord God] in all the earth.

If I had [stretched] out My hand & struck you & your people with pestilence, you would have been cut off from the earth. For this cause, I have [spared] you for the [purpose of showing] you My power, [so] that My name [the Lord God], will be declared throughout all the earth.

As [of now], you exalt yourself against My people, [because] you won’t let them go. Behold, tomorrow I [the Lord God]  will cause [very heavy] hail to rain down [that has] not been in Egypt since its foundation until now. Therefore gather your [livestock] & all that you have in the field, for the hail shall come down on every man & animal that is found in the field & they shall die.

[Those] servants of Pharaoh [who respected] the word of the Lord made his servants & livestock flee to the houses, but [those who didn’t] regard  the word of the Lord left [their] servants & [livestock] in the field & they all died when Moses stretched his rod toward heaven as the Lord God told him.

The Lord sent thunder & hail & fire [darted] on the ground [lightning], very grievous & there was [nothing] like it since Egypt became a nation. The hail struck every herb of the field, both man & beast & broke every tree of the field. [There was] no hail in the land of Goshen where the children of Israel were.

Pharaoh sent for Moses & Aaron & said, I have sinned this time & the Lord is righteous & my people & I are wicked. [Ask] the Lord that there not be [any] more thundering & hail for it is enough & I will let you go & you shall stay no longer.

Moses said to him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread my hands to the Lord & the thunder & hail shall cease, [so] that you may know the earth is the Lord’s. But as for you & your servants, I know you will not yet [respect] the Lord God.

The flax & the barley [had been struck by the hail], but the wheat & rice were not smitten, for they [are late crops] & hadn’t grown up, yet. [After] Moses went out of the city & spread his hands to the Lord, the hail, thunder & rain ceased.

When Pharaoh saw that they ceased, he sinned even more & hardened his heart & the hearts of his servants & would not let the children of Israel go; [just like] the Lord had spoken by Moses.

Locusts Come When Pharaoh Won’t Let the Children of Israel Go

Exodus 10:1-35            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord told Moses, Go to Pharaoh because, I have hardened his heart & the hearts of his servants, to that I might show these signs [of Mine] that you may tell your [children & grandchildren] what I [the Lord God] have [brought about] in Egypt so that you know that I am the Lord.

Moses & Aaron came to the Pharaoh & said to him, The Lord God of the Hebrews said, How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, [so] that they may serve Me & if you refuse to let [them] go, I will bring locusts into your coast tomorrow.

They shall cover the face of the earth, [so] that [no] one can [even] see the earth. The [locusts] will eat the residue of what [remains] from the hail & shall eat every tree in your field & they shall fill your, your servant’s & all of the Egyptian’s houses, [which is worse than] either your fathers or [grandfathers] have seen since they were on this earth [until] this day.

When Moses & Aaron left, Pharaoh’s servants [asked] him, How long shall this man [Moses] be a snare to us? Let the men go, [so] they may serve the Lord their God. [Don’t] you know that Egypt is destroyed?

Moses & Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh & he said, Go serve the Lord your God, but who [are the ones] that shall go? Moses said, We will go with our young & old, our sons & daughters & flocks & herds will go, [because] we must hold a feast to the Lord.

Pharaoh said, The Lord [better] be with you, [if I ever] let you & your little ones go, [because] evil is ahead of you [Moses]. No. [Only] the men [may go] & serve the Lord, for that is [what] you did desire. They were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.

[Then] the Lord [told] Moses, Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt & the locusts will come up on the land & eat every herb of the land, all that the hail has left. Moses stretched [out] his rod over the land of Egypt & the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day & night & when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

The locusts went up & rested over all the land & coasts of Egypt & [was so severe] that there had not [previously] been locusts [like them] before or after them. The land was darkened [because] they covered all the face of the earth & they ate all the hail left.

There was nothing green left throughout the land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh called Moses & Aaron in haste & said, I have sinned against the Lord your God & against you. Forgive my sins, I pray you, this once & [ask] the Lord to take away [the death of every green thing caused by the locusts].

Moses left & [asked] the Lord who [caused] a mighty west wind to [take away] the locusts & cast them into the Red Sea & there were no locusts [remaining] in all the coasts of Egypt. The Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart & he didn’t let the children of Israel go.

The Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand toward heaven that there may be a darkness that [could] be felt over the land of Egypt. Moses did this & there was thick darkness in Egypt for 3 days.

They [could not] see each other nor did anyone rise from his place for 3 days, but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings. Pharaoh called Moses & said, Go you & your little ones & go & serve the Lord; only leave your flocks & herds [behind].

Moses said, You must give us [livestock for our] sacrifices & burnt offerings to the Lord our God. Our cattle shall also go with us & there must not be a hoof be left behind, [because] we [won’t] know all we [need in order to] serve the Lord, until we [get there].

The Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart & he wouldn’t let them go & Pharaoh said to him, Get [away] from me & [be warned] not to see my face [any] more, [because] the day that you see my face you shall die. Moses said, [You] have spoken well. I will see your [Pharaoh’s] face no more.

Moses Tells Pharaoh About the Death of Firstborn If He Doesn’t Let Them Go

Exodus 11:1-10            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord said to Moses, I will bring 1 [more] plague on Pharaoh & Egypt & afterwards he will let you go [from here] & he will surely [drive] you out [of here] altogether. Speak [secretly] in the ears of the [Israelites] that every man & woman should borrow [from] their neighbors [jewelry] of silver & gold.

The Lord gave [them] favor in the sight of the Egyptians. [Also], Moses was very great in the land of Egypt in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants & the people. Moses told the [Israelites], The Lord said, About midnight I [the Lord God will ] go out into the midst of Egypt.

All the firstborn of Egypt shall die from the firstborn of the Pharaoh that sits upon his throne, to the firstborn of [female] servants behind the hand mill & all the firstborn of [animals] & there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt [like has never been] before [or will be after it again].

[None of] the children of Israel [down to] a barking dog, or  [any] man or beast [will be harmed], so you will know the Lord [makes] a difference between the Egyptians & Israel. All these, your servants, [Pharaoh], shall come down to me [Moses] & bow down to me, saying, Get out & all the people [who] follow you.

After that I will go out. Then he [Moses] went out from Pharaoh in great anger. The Lord said to Moses, Pharaoh will not [pay attention to] you, so that My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt. Moses & Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh & the Lord hardened his heart & so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

Things to Do for Passover

Exodus 12:1-51            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord said to Moses & Aaron in the land of Egypt, This month shall be the beginning of months, the first month of the year to you & [tell] all the congregation of Israel that on the 10th of this month every man is to take for [himself] a male lamb, without blemish that is 1 year old for [each] household.

It may be taken from the sheep or the goats, according to the house of his father. If a household is too little for the lamb, let him & his neighbor next to his house [share a lamb] according to the number of [people] & according [to how much] each man needs.

You shall keep it until the 14th day of the same month & the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it [the lamb] that evening. They shall take [some] of the blood & [put] it on the 2 side posts & the upper door post [lintel] of the houses [where] they shall eat it.

They will eat the [meat], that night that had been [roasted] with fire & shall eat it with unleavened bread & bitter herbs. [The whole lamb & all that pertains to it] shall be roasted with fire & not raw or [boiled] in water & they shall not let any of it remain until morning.

If any remains until morning, you shall burn it with fire. You shall eat it [fully dressed], have your belt fastened, sandals on your feet & your staff in your hand & you shall eat it in [a hurry].

It is the Lord’s Passover, for I [the Lord God] will pass through the land of Egypt this night & smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man & beast & against all the [false] gods of Egypt I will execute judgment. I am the Lord.

The blood on your houses will be a sign, so that when I see the blood, I will pass over you & the plague will not be on you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt. You shall [continue] to keep this day as a memorial throughout your generations, as a feast to the Lord by an ordinance forever.

You shall eat unleavened bread for 7 days & shall put away leaven [yeast] out of your houses, [because those] who eat leavened bread from the 1st day to the 7th day shall be cut off from Israel.

On [both] the 1st and the 7th day there shall be holy convocation to you & no manner of work shall be done on them, [but only the preparation of food] which every man must eat. You shall observe the feast of the Unleavened Bread on the [same] day that I [the Lord] brought your armies out of the land of Egypt.

Therefore you shall [continue] to observe this day [throughout] your generations as an ordinance forever. In the 1st month on the 14th day of the month at evening you shall eat unleavened bread until the evening of the 21st day of the month.

[For] 7 days no leaven shall be found in your houses; [the person who] eats [what] is leavened, shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger, or born in the land. You shall eat nothing leavened in all the places you [dwell], you shall eat unleavened bread.

Then Moses called all the elders of Israel & [explained] about taking the lamb, according to the [size] of your families & kill the Passover [lamb]. You are to take a bunch of hyssop & dip it in the blood in the [basin] & strike the lintel & the 2 side posts with the blood & none of you shall go out the door of his house until the morning.

For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; & when He sees the blood on the lintel & on the 2 side posts, the Lord will pass over the door & will not [allow] the destroyer to come into your houses to smite you. You are to observe this as an ordinance to you & your sons forever.

It shall come to pass, when come [in] to the land which the Lord will give you according as He promised, you shall keep this service. It shall come to pass, when your children say, What is the [meaning of] this service?

You will say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians & [He] delivered our [households]. The people bowed & worshiped [the Lord God].

Then the [Israelites] went & did as the Lord had commanded Moses & Aaron [to tell them]. It came to pass, at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of the Pharaoh [who] sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the captive in the dungeon & all the firstborn [livestock].

Pharaoh, his servants & all the Egyptians rose that night & there was a great cry in Egypt for there wasn’t a house where there was not one dead. [Pharaoh] called for Moses & Aaron & said, Rise up & [go out] from among my people, both you & the children of Israel, go & serve the Lord, as you have said.

Also take your flocks & herds & be gone &  bless me, also. The Egyptians [urged] the [Israelites] to leave the land in haste for they said, We all be dead men. The [Israelites] took their dough before it was leavened, having their kneading [bowls] bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.

The [Israelites] did according to the word of Moses & they borrowed [from] the Egyptians for [jewelry] of silver & gold & [clothing]. The Lord gave [the Israelites] favor in the sight of the Egyptians, [who] lent them the things they [requested], thus they spoiled the Egyptians.

The children of Israel, 600,000 men on foot besides children & a  mixed multitude went up with them & [livestock] journeyed from Rameses to Succoth & they baked the unleavened cakes of dough which they [had] brought when they were [driven] out of Egypt & hadn’t prepared [food] for themselves.

[The amount of time] the children of Israel dwelt in Egypt was 430 years & at the end of that time on the [very same] day, the [armies] of the Lord went out of the land of Egypt. It is a night to be observed to the Lord for bringing them out of the land of Egypt:

This night of the Lord is to be observed by all of the children of Israel [throughout] their generations. The Lord told Moses & Aaron, This is the ordinance of the Passover: no stranger, foreigner, or hired servant shall eat [of it].

Every man’s servant bought for money, [after he has been circumcised] shall eat of the Passover. It shall be eaten inside one house & the [meat] should not be carried [outside] the house, neither shall you break [any[ of the bones & all the congregation of Israel shall keep it [the Passover].

When a stranger shall [stay with you temporarily] & wants to keep the Passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised & let him come & keep it & he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat [of it].

[There shall be one law for [both those who are] home born & strangers who dwell among you. The children of Israel did as the Lord commanded Moses & Aaron. On that very same day, the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt [according] to their armies.

The Firstborn of Israelites & Animals Are the Lord’s

Exodus 13:1-22            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord said to Moses, Sanctify to Me all the firstborn of children of Israel both man & beast [are] Mine. Moses said to the people, Remember this day, in the month of Abib, that the Lord brought you out of the house of bondage in Egypt with a strong hand. No leavened bread shall be eaten.

You should [continue] to do this when the Lord brings you to the land of Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites & Jebusites, which He swore to your fathers to give you a land flowing with milk & honey to your fathers[Abraham, Isaac & Jacob] & you shall keep this service this month.

[For] 7 days you shall eat unleavened bread & no leaven should be seen in your houses & on the 7th day there shall be a feast to the Lord. You shall [tell] your son in that day, This is done because of [what] the Lord did for me when I came [forward] out of Egypt.

It shall be a sign to you upon your hand & a memorial before your eyes, that the Lord’s law shall be in your mouth: for with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt & you shall keep this ordinance in this season from year to year.

When the Lord shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites, as He swore to you & your fathers to give [it] to you, you shall set [aside] for the Lord all the [firstborn] male [animal] that opens the womb.

The [firstborn] of a [donkey] can be redeemed by a lamb & if you [don’t] redeem it, then you shall break its neck & all your firstborn sons of your children you shall redeem. When your son asks you in a time to come, What is this?

You shall say to him, [The] strength of the hand of the Lord brought us out of the house of bondage from Egypt & when Pharaoh was [stubborn] about letting us go.

The Lord killed the firstborn in the land of Egypt of both man & beast: therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all the firstborn males that open the womb, but I redeem the firstborn of my children.

It shall be [like a sign] on your hand & [like] frontlets between your eyes; [to remember] the strength of the hand of the Lord brought us out of Egypt.

When Pharaoh had let the [Israelites] go, God [didn’t] lead them through the land of the Philistines, although that was near, for God said,  Lest the people [change their minds] when they see war & return to Egypt.

So God led them through the way of the wilderness of the Red Sea & the children of Israel went up [girded up for a long journey, in orderly ranks] out of the land of Egypt.

Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, [to honor what Joseph had said to the Israelites:] for he had sworn to the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you & you shall carry my bones up with you.

So they took their journey from Succoth & camped in Etham, [at] the edge of the wilderness & the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead the way & by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so [they could see to] go by day or night. The Lord did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the [children of Israel].

Pharaoh Pursues Israelites & Moses Through the Red Sea

Exodus 14:1-31            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians & Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done upon the Egyptians [who] were dead on the sea shore, so the people feared [respected] & believed the Lord & His servant Moses.

The Lord spoke to Moses, Speak unto the children of Israel, [so] that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite to Baal Zephon & you shall camp before it by the sea. For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are [confused] by the land & the wilderness has shut them in.

I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, [so] that he will follow after them & I will [gain] honor [over] Pharaoh & his [army, so] the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord & they did so.

[When] it was told the king of Egypt that the [Israelites] fled: the heart of Pharaoh & the hearts of his servants turned against the [Israelites] & they said, Why have we let Israel go & [no longer] serve us?

[Pharaoh] got his chariot ready & took his people with him, [along with] 600 chosen chariots & all the chariots of Egypt with captains over every one of  them. The Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart & he [& the Egyptians] pursued after the children of Israel [who] went out [of Egypt] [defiantly].

The Egyptians, Pharaoh’s army, chariots & horsemen [found  the Israelites] were camping by the sea beside Pi Hahiroth, opposite to Baal Zephon & when the [Israelites] saw Pharaoh draw [near] as they marched after them & the [Israelites] were very afraid & cried to the Lord.

They said to Moses, [Weren’t there enough] graves in Egypt? Why did you take us away to die in the wilderness?  What have you [done to us, by bringing us] out of Egypt? [Didn’t we tell you] that it is better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness?

Moses [replied,] Don’t be afraid. Stand still & see the salvation of the Lord, which He will [show] to you today: for you will see the Egyptians no more, forever. The Lord will fight for you & you shall hold your peace.

The Lord said to Moses, [Why do you] cry to Me? [Tell] the children of Israel to go forward, but lift up your rod & stretch your hand over the [Red] Sea & divide it & the children of Israel shall go [over] on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians & they shall follow them & I will gain honor [over] Pharaoh & all his [army], chariots & horsemen. [Then] the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord. The Angel of God went in the pillar of cloud before the [Israelites] & moved & [then] stood behind them.

[The pillar of the cloud] came  between the camp of the [Israelites]. Thus it was a cloud & darkness to [the Egyptians] & it gave light by night to the [Israelites], so that one didn’t come near the other all that night.

[Then] Moses stretched out his hand over the [Red] Sea & the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night & made the sea [into] dry land & the waters were divided.

The children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground & the waters were a wall to them on their right hand & on their left. The Egyptians, Pharaoh’s horses, chariots & horsemen pursued & went after them into the midst of the sea.

In the morning the Lord looked [at] the Egyptian [army] through the pillar of fire & the cloud & troubled the [army] of the Egyptians & He [the Lord God] [made] their chariot wheels [wobbly], so they drove them heavily.

The Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord [fights] for them against the Egyptians. The Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the [Red] Sea, [so] that the waters may come [back] again upon the Egyptians, their chariots & their horsemen.

Moses stretched out his hand over the sea & when morning appeared, the [Red] Sea returned to its full strength, while the Egyptians fled against it & the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

The waters returned & covered the chariots, horsemen & all of Pharaoh’s [army] that came into the sea after them. Not so much as 1 remained. But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea & the waters were a wall to them on their right hand & on their left.

Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians & Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done upon the Egyptians [who] were dead on the sea shore, so the people feared [respected] & believed the Lord & His servant Moses.

The Israelites Sing of the Lord God Rescuing Them from Egyptian Oppression

Exodus 15:1-31            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Moses & the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord [after they escaped their oppression in Egypt]. I will sing to the Lord for He [has] triumphed gloriously & He has thrown the chariot & army & chosen captains & horse & rider into the sea, the depths covered them & they sank to the bottom like a stone.

The Lord is my strength & song & has become my salvation. He is my & my father’s God & I will prepare Him a habitation & I will exalt Him. The Lord is a man or war, the Lord is His name. Your right hand, O Lord, has become glorious in power & has dashed [to] pieces the enemy.

The greatness of Your excellency has overthrown [those who] rose up against You & Your [anger] consumed them as stubble. With a blast of Your nostrils, the waters gathered together & stood upright [like] a heap & the depths [stood still] in the heart of the sea.

The enemy planned to pursue & overtake [us] & divide the spoil & draw their sword & destroy the [Israelites]. You [Lord] blew with Your wind & the sea covered them & they sank like lead in the mighty waters.

Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders, O Lord, among the gods? You [stretched] out Your right hand & the earth swallowed them. You in Your mercy have led forth the people You have redeemed & guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation.

The people will hear & be afraid. Sorrow & dismay will take hold of the inhabitants of: [Palestine]. Then the dukes of Edom & mighty men of Moab shall be amazed & fear, dread & trembling shall fall on them & take hold of them & all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.

By the greatness of Your arm, they will be as still as stone, till Your people pass over, O Lord, whom You have purchased. You will bring them in & plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, O Lord, which You have made for You to dwell in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established & the Lord shall reign for ever & ever.

All the women went out after Miriam, the prophetess & sister of Aaron, took the timbrels [tambourine] in their hands & sang & danced about how the Lord has thrown the [Egyptian] horse & rider into the sea & He has triumphed gloriously!

Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea into the Wilderness of Shur & they went 3 days into the wilderness & found no water. When they came to Marah & they [couldn’t] drink [its] waters, because they were bitter. Therefore, the name of it was Marah [Bitter].

They [complained] to Moses [asking], What shall we drink? So, Moses cried out to the Lord God who showed him a tree & when he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet.

He, the Lord your God, made a statute & ordinance for them & there He [tested] them & said, If you will diligently [pay attention to] the voice of the Lord your God & will do what is right in His sight & listen to & keep His commandments & His statutes,

I will not put any of the diseases on them which I brought on the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that heals you. When they came to Elim, there were 12 wells of water & 70 palm trees, so they camped there by the waters.

Manna in the Morning and Quail at Night

Exodus 16:1-36            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The children of Israel, took their journey from Elim & came to the Wilderness of Sin which is between Elim & Sinai, on the 15th day of the 2nd month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.

[They] complained to Moses & Aaron in the wilderness, wishing they had died at the hand of the Lord in Egypt where they sat by [pots of cooking meat] & ate bread to [until they were full], but instead they have been brought into the wilderness to kill the whole assembly [of Israelites] with hunger.

The Lord told Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you & the people shall go & gather a certain [amount] every day, [so] that I [the Lord God] may test whether they will walk in My law or [not]. On the 6th day, they shall prepare[what] they bring in & it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

Moses & Aaron said to the children of Israel, At evening [time], they shall know the Lord has brought you out of the land of Egypt & in the morning, they shall see the glory of the Lord; for He hears your [complaints] against the Lord, but why do you [complain] against us?

Moses said, It shall be when the Lord gives you flesh to eat in the evening & bread in the morning to the full; for the Lord hears your [complaints] which you murmur against Him & what are we? Your complaints [aren’t] against us, but against the Lord.

Moses spoke to Aaron, to tell the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the Lord, for He [has] heard your [complaints]. It came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation, they looked toward the wilderness, behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.

The Lord said to Moses, I have heard [their complaints]. [Tell] them that  at [twilight] they shall eat [meat] & shall be filled with bread in the morning & they shall know that I am the Lord their God.

Quails came in the evening & covered the camp & in the morning, the dew lay [around the camp], but when the dew was gone, behold in the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as [fine] as frost on the ground. When the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, It is manna: for they didn’t [know] what it was.

Moses [told] them, This is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, Gather [daily] an omer for [each person], according to the number of [people] in [your] tents & they did so. Some gathered more & some less.

The one who gathered [more] had nothing [left] over & the one who gathered little had no lack [which is a miracle unto itself!] [They all had just enough for each person], according to his eating.  [Although] Moses said, [Don’t] leave [any] of it until morning, but some of them [did] & it had worms [in it] & stank.

Moses was [angry] with them. [So] they gathered [what they needed] every morning, because when the sun [go]t hot, it melted. On the 6th day they gathered twice as much bread, 2 omers for [each person], instead of 1 & all the [leaders] of the congregation came & told Moses.

He said to them, This is [what] the Lord has said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake today what you will bake & [boil] what you will [boil] & lay up for yourselves all that [remains] to be kept until morning.

They did as Moses [directed] & it [didn’t] stink & neither were there any worms in [the Sabbath portion of bread]. Moses said, Eat it today; for it is the Sabbath to the Lord & you won’t find it in the field. 6 days you shall gather it, but on the 7th day, which is Sabbath, there shall be none.

[It was] some [people] went out to gather on the 7th day & found none. The Lord said to Moses, How long [do] you refuse to keep My commandments & My laws? For, in that, the Lord has given you the Sabbath, He gives you bread for 2 days on the 6th day, [so] let no man go out of his place on the 7th day.

So the people [of Israel] rested on the 7th day. The house of Israel called the bread, Manna. It was like coriander seed, white & the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

Moses said, This is [what] the Lord commanded, Fill an omer of [manna] to be kept for their generations, [so] they may see the bread [which] I [the Lord God] fed you in the wilderness when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.

Moses said to Aaron, Take a pot & put an omer of manna in a pot & lay it up before the Lord, to be kept for [all] your generations & he did so.

Aaron put it in the [Ark of the Covenant] in front of the Testimony [2 tablets with the laws], to be kept. The children of Israel ate manna [for] 40 years, until they came to the borders of Canaan, [the land they were to inhabit]. Now, an omer is 1/10 of an ephah.

The Lord had Moses Bring Water from the Rock for the Israelites

Exodus 17:1-16            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

All the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the Lord’s commandment & camped in Rephidim & there was no water for the people to drink, so they [complained to] Moses & said, Give us water [so] that we may drink.

Moses said to them, Why do you [complain to] me? Why do you tempt the Lord? The people thirsted there for water & murmured  against Moses & said, [Why] have you brought us out of Egypt to kill us, our children & [livestock] with thirst?

Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, What shall I do to this people? They [are] almost ready to stone me? The Lord said to Moses, Go before the people & take some of the elders with you of Israel. [Take] your rod, you used to [smite] the river & take [it] in your hand & go.

Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb & you shall [strike] the rock & water shall come out of it, [so] that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

He [Moses] called the place Massah & Meribah, because of the [complaining] of the [Israelites] & because they tempted the Lord saying, Is the Lord among us or not? Then came Amelek & fought with Israel in Rephidim. Moses said to Joshua, Choose some men to go out [for] us & fight against Amalek & he did so.

Tomorrow, I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand. When they fought with Amalek, Aaron & Hur went to the top of the hill. [It was] when Moses held up his hand [with the rod], Israel prevailed, but when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

Moses’ hands [became] heavy, [so] they took [a large] stone & put it under him & he [Moses] sat on it while Aaron & Hur [on either side] kept his hands steady until [sundown]. Joshua [defeated] Amalek & his people with the edge of his sword.

The Lord said to Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book & [share it where] Joshua [can hear it]: fort I [the Lord God] will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. Moses built an altar & called: Jehovah Nissi: The-Lord-Is My-Banner, because the Lord has sworn that He will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

Jethro, Moses’ Father-in-Law Suggests He Appoint Judges to Share the Load

Exodus 18:1-27            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard all that God had done for Moses & for Israel, His people & that the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt. Jethro brought Moses’ wife, Zipporah & his 2 sons, Gershom [which means: I have been an alien in a strange land].

The other was Eliezer [which means: The God of my father, said He, was my help & delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh] back to Moses, [since Moses had sent them to be safe with Jethro, at an earlier point.] Jethro came with Moses’ sons & wife to Moses in the wilderness & [camped]at the mount of God.

He said to Moses, I, your father-in-law have come to you, with your wife & 2 sons.  Moses went out to meet his father-in-law & bowed & kissed him & they asked about each other’s [well-being] & they went into the tent.

Moses told Jethro all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh & the Egyptians, for Israel’s sake & how the Lord had delivered them from all the [hardships] on the way. Jethro rejoiced & blessed the Lord for all the goodness which the Lord had done to Israel & delivered [them] out of the hand of the Egyptians.

Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods, [because] He [the Lord God] [rescued Israel from their proud enemies]. Jethro took a burnt offering & sacrifices for God. Aaron & the elders of Israel came to eat bread with Jethro before God.

[The next day], Moses sat to judge the people [of Israel] [who] stood from morning until evening. Moses’ father-in-law saw all of this & said, What is [this that you do] to the people? Why [do you sit] alone & all the people stand by you from morning to evening?

Moses said to [Jethro], The people come to him to inquire of God when they have a matter, they come to me & I judge between 1 & another & make them know the statutes of God & His laws. [Jethro] [suggested] to ]Moses], The thing you [do isn’t] good.

You will surely [get worn out] & the people with you, for this is [too heavy a burden] for you & you [aren’t] able to perform [this] by [yourself] alone. [Listen] to my counsel & God shall be with you, so you may bring the causes to God:

You shall teach them the ordinances & laws & shall show them the way they must walk & the work they must do. You shall [select] able men of truth, who hate [envy] & [who] fear God & place them over the [Israelites] rulers of: 1,000’s, 100’s, 50’s & 10’s.

Let them judge the smaller matters of the people at all times & only bring to you [Moses] every great matter & [the appointed judges] will help bear the burden with you. If you shall do this thing & God commands you to, you shall be able to endure & all [these] people shall go to their place in peace.

So Moses [listened] to his father-in-law’s voice & did all that he said. Moses chose able men out of all of Israel & made them heads over the people rulers of: 1,000’s, 100’s, 50’s, & 10’s.

They judge the people [through all seasons] & brought the hard [matters] to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves. Moses let his father-in-law depart & he went to his own land.

No One is to Touch Mount Sinai & the Lord Comes to Moses in a Thick Cloud

Exodus 19:1-25            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The children of Israel [departed] from Rephidim, and went into the Wilderness of Sinai & camped there before the mountain, 3 months [after they left the land of Egypt].

Moses went up [Mount Sinai] to God & the Lord called him [from] the mountain saying, Tell the house of Jacob & children of Israel; You have seen what I did to the Egyptians & how I [the Lord God] bore you on eagles’ wings & brought you to Myself.

Now, if you indeed obey My voice & keep My covenant, then you shall be a [special] treasure to Me above all people, for all the earth is Mine. You shall be to Me a kingdom of priests & a holy nation. These are the words you shall [say] to the children of Israel.

Moses came & called for the elders of the people & laid before them all the words which the Lord commanded him. The people answered together, All that the Lord has spoken we will do. Moses [brought back] the words of the people to the Lord.

The Lord said to Moses, [Behold], I come to you in a thick cloud, [so] that the people may hear when I speak to you & believe you forever. Moses told these words of the people to the Lord. The Lord said to Moses, Go to the people & sanctify them today & tomorrow & to let them wash their clothes.

Let them be ready on the 3rd day: on the 3rd day, the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. You shall set [boundaries] all around [the mountain], saying,

…[Pay attention] to not go up into the [mountain] or touch its base, for whoever does, shall be put to death: whether it is man or an [animal] will be stoned or shot through & shall not live. When they hear the long trumpet sounds, they shall come [near] the [mountain], [but not touch it].

Moses went down from the [mountain] & sanctified the people & they washed their clothes. He said, Be ready [for] the 3rd day & not to [be intimate with] your wives.

[It was] on the 3rd day in the morning, there were [thunderings] & lightnings & a thick cloud on the] mountain] & an exceedingly loud trumpet [sound], so that all the people in the camp trembled. Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God & they stood at the foot of the [mountain].

Mount Sinai [was covered  in] smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire & the smoke ascended [up like] the smoke of a furnace & the [mountain] quaked greatly.

[After] the trumpet blast was louder & longer, Moses spoke & God answered by a voice & the Lord came down on the top of Mount Sinai & called Moses up to the top & he went up. The Lord said to Moses, Go down & [warn] the people, lest they break through & gaze at the Lord & many of them perish.

Let the priests [who] come near the Lord, also sanctify themselves, lest the Lord break [out against] them. Moses said,The people [can’t] come up to Mount Sinai: for You [warned] us, saying, Set [boundaries] around the mountain & sanctify it.

The Lord said to him, [Go] down & [then] come up & [bring only] Aaron up with you, but [don’t] let the priests & the people break through to come up to the Lord, lest He break [out] against them. So Moses went down to the people & [spoke] to them.

The Lord Told Moses the 10 Commandments to Share with the Israelites

Exodus 20:1-26            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

God spoke all these words [The 10 Commandments] saying: I am the Lord your God [who] brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. [1] You shall have no other gods before Me.

[2] You shall not have [any] other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a [carved] image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

You shall not bow down to them [idols], nor serve them: for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the 3rd & 4th generations of [those who] hate Me, but showing mercy to 1,000’s of [those who] love Me & keep My commandments.

[3] You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold guiltless [anyone] who takes His name in vain. [4] Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 6 days you shall labor & do all your work, but the 7th day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.

In it you shall do [any] work: you, your son or daughter, your [male or female servant], your cattle, nor your stranger [who] is within your gates. For in 6 days the Lord made heaven & earth & sea & all that is in them & rested the 7th day. [Therefore] the Lord blessed the Sabbath day & hallowed it.

[5] Honor your father & mother that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. [6] You shall not kill. [7] You shall not commit adultery. [8] You shall not steal. [9] You shall not bear false witness [tell lies/devise plots] against your neighbor.

[10] You shall not covet [envy] your neighbor’s house, his wife, his [male or female servant], his ox, nor his [donkey], nor anything that is your neighbor’s. All the people trembled & stood far [away] as they saw the thungerings, lightning [flashes] & the mountain smoking & the noise of the trumpet.

They said to Moses, You speak with us & we will hear [from you what God wants to tell us], but let God not speak with us, lest we die. Moses told them, [Don’t be fearful], for God [has] come to [test] you & that the fear of Him [the Lord God] may be before your faces, [so] that you don’t sin.

The people stood far [away], [but] Moses drew near into the thick darkness where God was. The Lord said to Moses, You shall say [this]to let the children of Israel, You have seen that I [the Lord God] have talked with you from heaven.

You shall not make any [false gods] to be [worshiped] with Me [the Lord God], you shall not make gods of silver or gods of gold for yourselves. You shall make [for] Me an [altar] of earth & you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings & peace offerings, your sheep & oxen:

..in all the places where I record My name, I will come to you & I will bless you. If you make Me an altar of stone, it shall not be of [cut] stone, for if you [use] your tools on it, you [will] have defiled it. Neither shall there be steps for you to go up to My altar, so your nakedness [under your clothing] is not [exposed on it].

Laws About Violence & About Animals

Exodus 21:1-36            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

[The Lord God has Moses tell these to the Israelites:] These are the judgments you shall set before them. If they buy a Hebrew servant he shall serve 6 years & shall go out free in the 7th year & [owe] nothing. If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he [was] married, his wife shall go out with him.

If the master [has] given him a wife & she has bore him [children] he shall go out by himself & wife & the children are her master’s. But if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, wife & children & I will not go out free, then his master shall bring him to the judges & also bring him to the door or doorpost.

The master will [pierce] his ear with an awl & he shall serve him forever. If a man sells his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.

If she [doesn’t] please her master, who [has chosen to marry her], then he shall let her be redeemed & has no [right] to sell her to a [foreign] nation, since he has dealt deceitfully with her. If he [has arranged for her to marry] his son, he shall deal with her according to the [custom] of daughters.

If he takes another wife, he shall [continue to give her the same amount of:] food, clothing, and [marriage rights]. If he doesn’t do all three of these for her, she shall go out free without [owing] money. He who [strikes] a man & so that he [dies], shall surely be put to death.

If he didn’t lie in wait [for him], but God delivered [the man] into his hand, then I will appoint a place where you may flee. But if a man [makes plans] to kill his neighbor & [slyly kills him], you shall take him from My altar, [so] that he may die. The [man who strikes] his father or mother shall surely be put to death.

He who curses his father or mother shall surely be put to death. The [person who kidnaps] a man & [sells] him or if the [kidnaped person] is found [with him], the [kidnapper] shall surely be put to death.

If men [quarrel] with each other & one [strikes] the other with a stone or his fist & he does not die, but is [confined to] bed, the man who struck him shall be [acquitted] if he rises again & walks [outside] with his staff & only pay for the loss of the [injured man’s] time & shall [pay] for him to be thoroughly healed.

If a man [strikes] his servant or maid, with a rod & he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished. If the [the servant recovers after] a day or two, he shall not be punished; for he is his money.

If men [fight] & hurt a [pregnant] woman, so that she [gives birth prematurely], [but] no [harm] follows, he shall surely be punished according as the woman’s husband [demands] & shall pay as the judges determine.

But if any [harm follows], then you [shall] give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe [of the whip]. If a man [strikes] the eye of his servant or maid & [destroys it], he shall let him go free for the sake of his eye.

If he knocks out the tooth of his manservant or maidservant, he shall let him go free for the sake of his tooth. If an ox [gores] a man or a woman [to death], the ox shall surely be stoned & its flesh shall not be eaten, but the owner of the ox is [acquitted].

If the ox had a [tendency] to push with his horn in [the] past & the owner [knew it] & [didn’t] keep [it confined] & [has] killed a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned & the owner shall be put to death. If a sum of money is [demanded of] him, then to [redeem] his life, [the owner] should pay it.

Whether [the ox] gored a son or a daughter, according to this judgment, it shall be done to him. If the ox gores a maleservant or maid servant servant, he shall give their master 30 shekels of silver & the ox shall be stoned.

If a man digs an open pit & doesn’t cover it & an ox or a [donkey] falls in it, the owner of the pit shall make it good & give money to their owner, but the dead [animal] shall be the [pit owner’s]. If one man’s ox [kills] another man’s ox, they shall sell the live ox & divide the money [from] it & divide the dead ox.

If it is known that the ox [tended] to push [his horn] in the past, but [didn’t keep him confined], he shall surely pay ox for ox and the dead [animal] shall be his.

Laws About Making Restitution

Exodus 22:1-31            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

If a man steals an ox or a sheep & kills it or sells it, he shall restore 5 oxen for [the stolen] ox or 4 sheep for [the stolen] sheep. If the thief is [caught] breaking [in] & is [struck] & dies, no blood [should] be shed for him. If the sun has risen on him, there shall be [guilt for his bloodshed] & he should make full restitution;

If he [has] nothing, then he shall be sold [as a slave] for his theft. If the theft [of the thing stolen] is certainly found alive in his hand, whether [it’s] an ox, [donkey], or sheep, he shall restore double.

If a man puts his animals in another man’s field or vineyard to [graze] in it, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field or vineyard. If fire breaks out & [spreads] to the thorn bushes & causes the standing corn or field to be [burned], the [person who started] the fires shall surely make restitution.

If a man [asks] his neighbor to keep [either] money or [articles for him] & they [are] stolen from his house & the thief is found, let him pay double. If the thief [isn’t] found, then the master of the house shall be brought to the judges to see [if] he put his hands on his neighbors [property].

When there is a [dispute over] an ox, [donkey], sheep, [clothing], or any lost thing, which another [claims] to be his, both parties should come before the judges & whom the judges condemn shall pay double to the neighbor.

If a man [gives] his neighbor a donkey, ox, sheep, or any [animal] to keep [for him] & it dies, is hurt, or is driven away & no one [ses it] then they both need to take the oath of the Lord that he hasn’t [caused this to happen] & the owner shall accept [that] & [not pursue the matter].

But if the [animal] is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to the owner for it. If the [animal] is torn to pieces, then let him bring it [as evidence] & shall [isn’t responsible for] what was torn.

If a man borrows any [animal from] his neighbor & it is hurt or it dies & the owner [wasn’t] with it, [the man who borrowed it] shall surely make it good. But if the owner [was] with it [the person who borrowed it isn’t responsible]. If the [animal] was hired [rented], it came for its hire [rent].

If a man entices a [virgin] who is not [engaged] & lies with her, he shall surely [pay the dowry] for her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins. You shall not permit [those who practice any type of witchcraft] to live.

Whoever lies with [an animal] shall surely be put to death. He who sacrifices to any god, [except] to the Lord [God] only, he shall be utterly destroyed. You shall neither [mistreat] nor oppress a stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child, for if you afflict them in any [way] & they cry out to Me, I [the Lord God] will hear their cry & My [anger] will [become] hot & I will kill you with a sword & your wives shall be widows & your children fatherless.

If you lend money to any of My people who are poor [among] you, [don’t] be like [moneylenders]; [don’t] charge him [interest]. If you take your neighbor’s garment as [security], you shall return it by sunset, [because it’s] his only covering [to keep his skin warm].

[What] will he sleep [in]? When he cries out to Me, I will hear, for I am gracious. You shall not revile the gods [judges], nor curse a ruler of your people. You shall not delay to offer the first of your ripe [produce, wine] & the firstborn of your sons you shall give to Me.

You shall do likewise with your oxen & sheep. It shall be with its mother 7 days & on the 8th day you shall give it to Me. And you shall be holy men to Me & shall neither eat [meat] torn by beasts in the field & you shall [throw] it to the dogs.

False Reports, Bribes & Justice

Exodus 23:1-33            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

You shall not [spread]  false reports. Don’t [join] with the wicked to be a [false] witness. You shall not follow a [crowd] to do evil, [neither] shall you [falsely testify] in a [dispute to pervert] justice. You shall not show [preference] to a poor man in his [dispute], [but should always be fair].

If you [come across] your enemy’s [stray] ox or [donkey], you shall surely bring it back to him again. If you see the [donkey] of one who hates you [fallen down under its load] & you shall surely help him & [not turn away]. You shall not [twist] the judgment of the poor in his [dispute but shall always be fair].

Keep [yourselves] far from a false matter & do not kill the innocent & righteous for I [the Lord God] will not justify the wicked. Do not take [bribes], because a bribe [blinds] [those who are supposed to make fair decisions] & perverts the words of the righteous.

You shall not oppress a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt & [know what it’s like]. 6 years you shall sow your land & gather its produce, but the 7th year, you shall let it rest & lie [fallow], [so] that the poor of your people may eat & the beasts of the field may eat what the [poor] leave.

This shall [also be done] in your vineyard & olive [groves]. 6 days you shall do your work & on the 7th day you shall rest, [so] that your ox & [donkey] may rest & the son of your handmaid & the stranger, may be refreshed.

In all I [the Lord God] have told you, be [cautious] not to mention the name of other gods, neither let it be heard [coming] from your mouth. 3 times a year, you shall keep a feast to Me.

You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread [without yeast] for 7 days & shall [only] eat unleavened bread 7 days, as I commanded you, in the appointed time time in the month, Abib, [because that’s when] you came out of Egypt & none shall appear before Me empty[handed]).

[Also], the Feast of Harvest, [of] the firstfruits of your labors, which you [have] sown in the field & the Feast of Ingathering, at the end of the year, when you [have] gathered in the fruits of your labors out of the field. 3 times a year, all your males shall appear before the Lord God.

You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread [with yeast in it], nor shall the fat of My sacrifice remain until morning. The firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God & you shall not [boil] a goat in its mother’s milk.

Behold I send an Angel [who will go] before you [in the journey] to keep you [going] the [right] way & to bring you into the place I have prepared. Beware of Him & obey His voice & don’t  provoke Him, for He surely won’t pardon your transgressions, [because] My name is in Him.

If you indeed follow His voice & do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies & an adversary to your adversaires [for you]. My angel shall go before you & bring you to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites & Jebusites and I [the Lord God] will cut them off.

You shall not bow down to their [false] gods, nor serve them or do their works [rituals to false gods], but you shall utterly overthrow them & break down their [idols].

So you shall serve the Lord your God [only] & He will bless your bread & water & will take sickness from the midst of you, nor will [any one or animal suffer miscarriage] or be barren in your land & I will fulfill the number of your days.

I will send the fear of My [terror] before you & I [the Lord God] will destroy all the people to whom you come [with confusion] & your enemies will turn their backs & run. I will send hornets before you & drive out the Hivite, Canaanite & Hittite from before you.

I won’t drive them out in 1 year, lest the land become desolate & the beasts of the field [become too numerous] for you. Little by little, I will drive them out from before you until you have increased & you inherit the land.

I will set your [boundaries] from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, & from the desert to the river: for I [the Lord God] will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand & you shall drive them out before you.

You shall make no covenant [contract] with them, nor their [false] gods. They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their [false] gods, it will surely be a snare to you.

Moses Goes to On the Mountain to Speak with the Lord God

Exodus 24:1-18            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

He [the Lord God] told Moses, Come up to the Lord [with] Aaron, Nadab, Abihu & 70 of the elders of Israel & worship from afar.  Moses alone, shall come near the Lord, but they shall not come [near].

Moses came & told the people all the words & judgments of the Lord & all the people answered with 1 voice, All the words the Lord [has] said we will do.  Moses wrote [down] all the words of the Lord. He rose early & built an altar with 12 pillars according to the 12 tribes of Israel.

He had young men of the children of Israel, [who] offered burnt offerings & sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the Lord. Moses took ½ of the blood & put it in basins & ½ of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

Then, he took the Book of the Covenant & read [so] the [Israelites] could hear & they said, All the Lord has said, we will do & be obedient. Moses took the blood & sprinkled it on the people & said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you according to all these words.

Then Moses went up Aaron, Nadab, Abihu & 70 of the elders of Israel & they saw the God of Israel & under His feet were [what seemed] like paved work of sapphire stone, like the heavens in its [clarity]. [The Lord God] did not lay His hand on the nobles of the children of Israel, so they saw God & [ate & drank].

Then the Lord [told] Moses to come up to HIm on the [mountain], so the Lord could give him tablets of stone with the law & commandments that the Lord has written [on them], so that Moses may teach them [to the Israelites]. Moses rose up & took his [assistant], Joshua, up into the mountain of God.

[Moses] said to the elders, [Wait] here until we come [back] to you, again. [Remember] Aaron & Hur are with you & if anyone has [a dispute], they [can go] to them. Moses went up into the [mountain] & a cloud covered [it]. The glory of the Lord [rested] on Mount Sinai & the cloud covered it 6 days.

On the 7th day, He [the Lord God] called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. The sight of the glory of the Lord [looked] like a [consuming] fire on top of the mountain in the sight of the eyes of the children of Israel. Moses went into the midst of the cloud & went up into the mountain for 40 days & 40 nights.

The Lord God Tells Moses Which Things Are to be Made for the Tabernacle

Exodus 25:1-40            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel, [so] that they bring Me an offering: [from those who] give it willingly of his heart. This is the offering you shall take from them [items which will later be used in making the Tabernacle for the Lord:]

The offering which you shall take from them of: gold, silver, brass; blue, purple & scarlet [thread]; fine linen & goat’s hair, ram skins dyed red, badger skins & shittim wood; oil for the light & spices for the anointing oil & for sweet incense;

… onyx stones & stones to be set in the ephod [decorative vestment for the high priest] & in the breastplate. Let them make Me a sanctuary that I [the Lord God] may dwell among them. You shall make the tabernacle & all [its instruments] according to the pattern that I will show you.

They shall make an ark 2½ x 1½  x 1½ cubits & overlay it with pure gold [inside & outside] & make gold [molding] all around. You shall cast 4 [large] gold rings to put 1 in [each corner] & you will make [poles] of shittim wood, [overlaid] with gold that fit into the rings on the sides of the ark, [so] that the ark might be [carried] by them.

The [poles] shall stay with the ark & shall not be taken from it. You shall put into the ark, the Testimony [2 Tablets with commandments & laws] which I shall give you. You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold 2 ½ x 1½ cubits & shall make 2 cherubim [angels] of [hammered] gold & put them on [opposite] ends of the…

…mercy seat [facing] the mercy seat & their wings shall stretch out on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings. [After] you put the Testimony that I give you, in the ark, the mercy seat [goes] on top of the ark. There I will meet with you & I will [speak] with you from above the mercy seat, between the 2

…cherubim [angels] which are on the ark of the Testimony, with all the things I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel. You shall also make a table of shittim wood: 2 x 1x 1½ cubits [overlaid] with pure gold & a gold rim, a handbreadth wide with a gold [molding] on the rim.

You shall make 4 rings of gold for the [poles] to [carry] the table & put the rings in the 4 corners by the 4 [legs of the table].The [poles] to carry the table shall be made of shittim wood [overlaid] with gold. [Its] dishes, spoons, covers & [sacrificial] bowls to cover them shall be made of pure gold.

You shall set the showbread on the table before Me always. You shall make a pure gold candlestick of 1 piece of [hammered] work with 6 branches, 3 branches on [either] side, with 3 bowls like almond [flowers] for each of the branches with an ornamental knob & flower for the 6 branches that come out of the candlestick.

In the candlestick shall be 4 bowls made like almonds, with their knops & their flowers. There shall be a knp under each of the 2 branches, according to the 6 branches that [come] out of the candlestick. You shall make 7 lamps [for it] & they shall light the lamps [for the lampstand & set them, so they reflect their light forward].

Its tongs & snuff dishes [for it] shall be of pure gold. [With] a talent of gold, he shall make it, with all these vessels. Look that you make them [according] to their pattern that was [shown] to you [by the Lord God] on the mountain.

How to Make the Tabernacle of the Lord- by the Lord God’s Intelligent Design

Exodus 26:1-37            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

You shall make 10 curtains for the tabernacle made of fine [woven] linen & blue, purple & scarlet thread with [artistic designs] of cherubim [angles] [woven] into [each] of the ten 28 x 4 cubit curtains. 5 curtains shall be coupled to one another [just as the other 5 curtains are].

50 loops of blue shall be made on the edge of [each] of the 2 sets of curtains, so they may be hooked to one another & coupled with 50 hooks of gold, so that it may be one tabernacle. You shall also make 11 curtains of goat’s hair [each] 30 x 4 cubits to be a tent over the tabernacle.

5 curtains shall be coupled by themselves & the other 6 curtains by themselves & you shall double over the 6th curtain at the forefront of the tabernacle. You shall make 50 loops on the outermost edge of [each] of the 2 sets of curtains, [so] that the tent will be coupled together with 50 brass hooks put into the loops, so that it may be one.

The ½ curtain remnant that remains shall hang over the back side of the tabernacle. There will be 1 cubit on [both] sides that remains of the length of the curtains & it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it. You shall make a covering for the tent of rams skins dyed red & a covering above [that] of badger skins.

The boards for the tabernacle shall be upright of 10 x 1½  cubits for [each] board made of shittim wood. [All the] boards shall have 2 tenons for binding one to another. On the north & south sides of the tabernacle you shall make for [each] of the 20 boards with 40 sockets of silver under them:

… 2 sockets under [each] board for its 2 tenons. For the far, westward side you shall make 6 boards & 2 boards for the 2 back corners of the tabernacle. They shall be coupled together beneath & at the top, they shall be coupled together above the head of it [into] 1 ring.

Thus it shall be for [both] of them for the 2 corners. So there shall be 8 boards with 16 sockets of silver- 2 sockets under [each] of the boards. You shall make 5 bars of shittim wood for [each] of the 3 sides of the tabernacle [15 bars].

The middle bar shall pass through the midst of the boards [horizontally] from [end to end]. You shall [overlaid] [all] the boards with gold & make their rings of gold as holders for the bars & [[overlaid]] the bars with gold. You shall [raise] up the tabernacle by the pattern you were shown on the mountain.

You shall make a veil [woven] of blue, purple & scarlet thread & fine [woven] linen of skillful work. It shall be [woven] with an artistic design of cherubim [angels]. You shall hang it [veil] upon the 4 pillars of shittim wood [overlaid] with gold.

Their hooks shall be gold upon 4 sockets of silver & the veil shall be hung from the hooks. Then, you shall bring the ark of the Testimony [in there], behind the veil. The veil shall be a divider for you between the holy place & the Most Holy. And you shall put the mercy seat upon the Ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.

You shall set the table [outside] the veil & the candlestick [opposite] the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south & you shall put the table on the north side.

You shall make a hanging [screen] for the door of the tent of [woven] of blue, purple & scarlet thread & fine [woven] linen [made] with needlework. You shall make for the hanging [screen], 5 pillars of shittim wood [overlaid] with gold with gold hooks & you shall cast 5 sockets of brass for them.

Making the Altar for the Tabernacle- by the Lord God’s Intelligent Design

Exodus 27:1-21            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The altar should be made of shittim wood 5x5x3 cubits; it shall have a horn on [each] of [its] 4 corners & they should be of 1 piece with the altar & [overlaid] in brass. You shall make [its] utensils in brass: pans to receive [the] ashes, shovels, basins, flesh hooks, firepans

And all [its] vessels & a grate for it will have a network of brass & 1 brass ring at [each] of [its] 4 corners. You shall put the grate under the rim of the altar beneath, [so] the network [of the grate goes] up the altar. The [poles] to be put into the rings on the 2 sides of the altar to [carry] it,

should be made of shittim wood & [overlaid] with brass. The altar should be made of shittim wood & [be overlaid] in brass. You shall make it hollow with boards, as it was shown to you on the mountain, so shall they make it. You shall also make the court of the tabernacle.

There shall be hangings for the court on the South & North sides made of fine [woven] linen for [each] side, 100 cubits long for one side. [Its] 20 pillars & their 20 sockets shall be brass. The hooks of the pillars & their [bands] shall be silver.

Along the [width] of the west side there shall be hangings of 50 cubits with 10 pillars & 10 sockets. The width of the court on the east side shall be 50 cubits, but the hangings on [both] sides shall [each] be 15 cubits with 3 pillars & 3 sockets.

For the gate of the court there shall be a hanging [screen] 20 cubits long & [woven] of blue, purple & scarlet thread & fine [woven] linen made with needlework. It shall have 4 pillars & 4 sockets.

All the pillars around the court shall have [bands] of silver & their hooks shall be silver & their sockets brass. The court shall be 100x50x5 cubits made of fine [woven] linen & [its] sockets of brass.

All the vessels & [utensils] for the service of the tabernacle & all the [pegs] of the court shall be brass. You shall command the children of Israel to bring pure oil of pressed olives to [allow] the light to burn [continually].

Aaron & his sons shall [tend] it from evening until morning before the Lord in the tabernacle of the congregation, outside the veil which is before the Testimony. It shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of Israel.

Making Garments for the Priests- by the Lord God’s Intelligent Design

Exodus 28:1-43            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

[The Lord God told this to Moses:] Take Aaron, your brother & his sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar & Ithamar from among the children of Israel [so that] they may minister to Me in the priest’s office.

You shall make holy garments for Aaron for glory & beauty & you shall speak to all who are skillful artists, whom I [the Lord God] have filled with the spirit of wisdom, [so]  that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister to Me in the priest’s office.

These are the garments they shall make: a breastplate, an ephod [decorative vestment usually worn by a high priest], a robe, a skillfully [embroidered] coat, a [turban] & a girdle to secure the linen shirt. They shall make holy garments for Aaron & his sons, [so] that he may minister to Me in the priest’s office.

They shall make the ephod of gold, blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & fine [woven] linen with [skillful] work. It shall have 2 shoulder [straps] joined at its edges. The intricately [woven] band on it shall be made of the same [items] & workmanship.

2 onyx stones are to be [engraved] with the names of the [12] children of Israel in the order of their birth, 6 of the names [engraved] on the 1 stone & 6 on the other & they will put them into [settings] of gold & [they will be attached] to the shoulders of the ephod for stones…

… of memorial for the [12] children of Israel [a.k.a. Jacob]. You shall also make [settings] of gold & make 2 chains of pure gold [like twisted gold cords that are to be] fastened to the settings.

You shall make a breastplate of judgment with [skillful artistic work similar to] the work of the ephod & it shall be made of gold, blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & fine [woven] linen that shall be doubled into a square & the length & width will [both] be a span. You shall [put] settings of stones in it in 4 rows.

The 1st row shall [have] a [ruby], topaz & [red garnet]. The 2nd row shall [have] an emerald, sapphire & a diamond. The 3rd row a [Lapis Lazuli], agate & amethyst & the 4th row a [yellow jasper], onyx & jasper which shall [all] be in gold [settings].

[Each] of the stones shall be engraved with a different name of the 12 sons of Israel according to the 12 tribes. You shall make 2 chains for the breastplate at the end [like twisted gold cords], chains of pure gold & make 2 rings of gold to put on the ends of the breastplate.

The 2 other ends of [twisted] chains of gold shall be put in the 2 rings on the ends of the breastplate & the other ends of the braided chains shall be fastened to the 2 [settings] & put them on the shoulders on the front of the ephod.

You shall make 2 other rings of gold that go on the 2 [inside edges] of the ephod & 2 other rings of gold will be put [underneath] the 2 shoulder straps right at [its seam] toward the ephod’s front, but above the [intricately woven] girdle of the ephod.

They shall bind the breastplate by means of its rings to the rings of the ephod using blue [cord] above the [intricately woven] girdle of the epod, so that the breastplate [doesn’t come] loose from the ephod.

Aaron shall bear the name of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastplate of judgment when he goes into the holy place, as a memorial before the Lord continually. And you shall put in the breastplate of judgment, the Urim & Thummim [the Lights & the Perfections] & …

… they shall be [over] Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the Lord, so he shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel over his heart before the Lord continually. You shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue & there shall be an [opening for his head] in the middle of it with [woven] binding around the opening [like the opening in a coat of mail], so that it [doesn't tear].

Upon the hem [of the robe] you shall make pomegranates of blue, purple & scarlet & all around the hem & it shall have a golden bell & a pomegranate [pattern] all around the hem of the garment.

It shall be on Aaron when he [ministers] & the sound will be heard when he [goes] into the holy place before the Lord & when he comes out, [so] that he [doesn’t] die. You shall make a plate of pure gold & have it [engraved] like a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

You shall put it on a blue lace [cord], [so] it may be on the front of the [turban] on Aaron’s [forehead], that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow in all their holy gifts & it shall always be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before the Lord.

You shall embroider the coat & the [turban] of fine linen & you shall make the girdle of needlework. For Aaron’s sons you shall make [linen tunics] & girdles for them & [hats] for them, for glory & beauty. You shall put them on Aaron, your brother & his sons with him.

You [Moses] shall anoint them, consecrate them & sanctify them, [so] they may minister to Me in the priest’s office. And you shall make for them linen [trousers] that reach from the [waist] to the thighs to cover their nakedness [bare flesh under the robe].

They shall be on Aaron & his sons when they come into the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near the altar to minister in the holy place, [so] that they don’t bear [any] iniquity & die. It shall be a statute to him & his [descendants] after him.

The Consecration of Aaron & His Sons as Priests

Exodus 29:1-46            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

[The Lord said this to Moses:] This is what] you shall do to them [Aaron & his sons] to hallow them to minister to Me as priests: Take 1 young bull & 2 rams without blemish & unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil & unleavened wafers anointed with oil: you shall make them of wheat flour.

You shall put them in 1 basket & bring them in the basket with the bull & the 2 rams. You shall bring Aaron & his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation & you shall wash them with water.

Then you shall take the garments & put on Aaron the coat & the [blue] robe of the ephod & [then] the ephod [decorative vestment usually worn by the high priest] & the breastplate & gird them with the girdle [intricately woven band of the ephod].

You shall put the [turban] on his [Aaron’s] head & put the holy crown [an engraved gold plate] on the [turban]. You shall take the anointing oil & pour it on his head & anoint him. Then you shall bring [Aaron’s] sons & coats upon them & gird them with girdles, Aaron & his sons & put their [hats] on them.

The priest’s office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute & you shall consecrate Aaron & his sons. You shall also have the bull brought before the tabernacle of the congregation & Aaron & his sons shall put their hands on the head of the bull & shall kill the bull before the Lord by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

You shall take some of the bull’s blood with your finger & put it on the horns of the altar & pour all the [rest of the] blood beside the bottom of the altar. You shall take all the fat that covers the [intestines], the [fatty flap] above the liver & the 2  kidneys & the fat on them & burn them on the altar.

But the flesh of the bull & its skin & [its remains], you shall burn them with fire [outside] the camp. It is a sin offering. You shall take 1 ram & Aaron & his sons shall put their hands on its head & [kill] the ram. You shall take [its] blood & sprinkle it all around the altar.

You shall cut the ram in pieces & wash [its guts] & legs & put them with its pieces & its head & the whole ram shall be burned on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord; it is a sweet [aroma], an offering made by fire to the Lord.

You shall take the other ram & Aaron & his sons shall put their hands on its head & kill the ram & take some of [its] blood & put it on the tip of Aaron’s right ear & the tips of his son’s right ears & also on the thumb of their right hand & big toe of their right foot [of all of them] & sprinkle the blood all around on the altar.

You shall take [some] of the blood that is on the altar & [some] of the anointing oil & sprinkle it on Aaron & his sons & [their] garments, so they & their garments are hallowed, [as they are].

Also take [some] of the fat of the ram & the rump, the fat that covers the [intestines], the [guts], the [fatty flap] above the liver, the 2 kidneys & the fat on them, the right shoulder (for it is a ram of consecration), 1 loaf of bread, 1 cake [made with] oil and …

… 1 wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread that is before the Lord & you shall put [these] in the hands of Aaron & his sons & you shall wave them as a wave offering before the Lord. You shall receive them from their hands & burn them on the altar as a burnt offering, for a sweet [aroma] before the Lord.

It is an offering made by fire to the Lord. You shall take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s consecration & wave it for a wave offering before the Lord & it shall be your [portion]. From the ram of the consecration, you shall sanctify the breast of the wave offering that is waved and …

… the shoulder of the heave offering, which is waved & heaved up, of the ram of consecration, even of [the portion] which is for Aaron & his sons. For it is a heave offering & it shall be a heave offering from the children of Israel for Aaron & his sons by statute forever, from the sacrifice of their peace offerings, even their heave offering to the Lord.

The holy garments of Aaron’s shall be his son’s after him, to be anointed & consecrated in them. That son who becomes priest in his [Aaron’s] [place] shall put them on for 7 days [&] when he comes into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the holy place [sanctuary].

You shall take the ram of the consecration & [boil] its flesh in the holy place. Aaron & his sons shall eat the [cooked] flesh of the ram & the bread that is in the basket by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

They shall eat those things [with which ]the atonement was made, to consecrate & to sanctify them; but a stranger shall not eat [them], because they are holy. If [any] of the flesh of the consecrations or the bread remains until morning, then you shall burn the remainder of it with fire.

It shall not be eaten, because it is holy. You shall do [this] to Aaron & his sons, according to all I [the Lord God] have commanded you. 7 days you shall consecrate them. You shall offer a bull every day for a sin offering for atonement & you shall cleanse the altar when you [make] an atonement for it & you shall anoint it [the altar] to sanctify it.

7 days you shall make an atonement for the altar & sanctify it. The altar shall be most holy & [whatever] touches the altar must be holy. Now this is what you shall offer on the altar: 2 lambs of the 1st year, day by day continually. The 1 lamb in the morning & 1 lamb you shall offer at [twilight].

[Along with each] lamb shall be offered 1/10 of an [ephah] of flour mixed with ¼ of a hin of [pressed] oil & ¼ of a hin of wine for a drink offering. The lamb that you offer at [twilight], shall be done according to the meat offering of the morning and …

… the drink offering, as well, for a sweet [aroma], an offering made by fire to the Lord. This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord: where I will meet you, to speak with you there.

And there I will meet with the children of Israel & the tabernacle shall be sanctified by My glory & I [the Lord God] will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation & the altar. I will also sanctify both Aaron & his sons, to minister to Me in the priest’s office.

I will dwell among the children of Israel & will be their God & they shall know that I am the Lord their God, [who] brought them [up] out of the land of Egypt, [so] that I may dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.

The Holy Incense & Anointing Oil Instructions- by the Lord’s Intelligent Design

Exodus 30:1-38            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

[The Lord God told Moses:] You shall make an altar to burn incense on, out of shittim wood [square] 1x1x2 cubits [high] & you shall overlay all of it & its horns with pure gold & make a [molding] of gold all around.

2 gold [rings] shall be made for it which shall be placed on its 2 rings on [opposite corners] on each of 2 sides, under the molding, which will be holders for the [poles] to [carry] it. The [poles] are to be made with shittim wood & overlaid with gold.

You should put it [incense altar] before the veil that is by the Ark of Testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the Testimony, where I [the Lord God] will meet with you. Aaron shall burn [on it] sweet incense every morning.

When Aaron [lights] the lamps at [twilight], he shall burn incense on it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations. You shall not offer strange incense [on it], nor a burnt sacrifice, nor a meat offering, neither shall you pour a drink offering [on it].

Aaron shall make an atonement upon [its] horns once [a] year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements. Once [a] year he shall make atonement upon it throughout your generations. It is most holy to the Lord.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, When you take the [census] of the children of Israel [for] their number, then every man shall give a ransom for [himself] to the Lord, when you [number] them, [so] there will be no plague among them.

Everyone from 20 years & above who is numbered [in the census] should give: ½ a skekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (a shekel is 20 gerahs). The ½ shekel shall be an offering to the Lord.

The rich shall not give more & the poor shall not give less than ½ a shekel, when they give an offering to the Lord, to make atonement for your souls. You shall take the atonement money of the children of Israel & [it] shall [be] appointed to the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, …

… [so] that it may be a memorial for the children of Israel before the Lord, to make atonement for your souls. The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, You shall also make a laver [basin] & a base both of brass [for washing].

You shall put it between the tabernacle of the congregation & the altar & you shall put water in it, [so] Aaron & his sons [can] wash their hands & feet [there] & shall wash with water when they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, [so] that they [don’t] die, or when they come near the altar to minister, to burn an offering made of fire to the Lord.

It shall be a statute forever to them, to him [Aaron] & his [descendants] throughout their generations. Moreover the Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying: Take for [yourselves] [quality] spices: 500 shekels of pure myrrh, 250 shekels of sweet cinnamon, 250 shekels sweet [sugar cane], 500 shekels of cassia, according to the shekel of the sanctuary & a hin of olive oil.

You shall make [from these] a holy anointing oil, an ointment compound according to the art of the apothecary [who makes compounds]. It shall be a holy anointing oil & you shall anoint the tabernacle of the congregation & the Ark of the Testimony, the table & all [its] vessels & [utensils & the candlestick & [its] vessels & the altar of incense].

The altar of burnt offering with all [its] vessels & [utensils] & the [basin] & [its] [base]. You shall sanctify them, [so] they may be most holy & [whatever] touches them must be holy. You shall anoint Aaron & his sons & consecrate them, [so] they may minister to Me in the priest’s office.

You shall [tell] the children of Israel, saying, This shall be a holy anointing oil to Me throughout your generations. It shall not be poured on man’s flesh, nor shall you make any other like it & [its] composition of [ingredients] for it is holy & it shall be holy to you.

Whoever [compounds] any like it or [puts] any of it on a stranger, shall [be] cut off from his people. The Lord said to Moses: Take sweet spices, stacte & onycha, galbanum & these sweet spices with pure frankincense. Each shall be of equal weight.

You shall make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, [sprinkled together with salt], pure & holy. You shall beat some of it very small & put some of it before the Testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation where I will meet with you.

It shall be most holy. [But] as for the perfume which you shall make, you shall not make any for yourselves, according to [its] composition. To you, it shall be holy for the Lord. [Whoever] makes any like it, to smell [it], shall be cut off from his people.

The Lord put Wisdom in the Hearts of the Gifted Artisans for the Tabernacle

Exodus 31:1-18            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: See, I have called by name Bezaleel, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, understanding, knowledge & in all [types] of workmanship, to [design artistic] works & to work in gold, silver, [brass], cutting of stones [to be put in settings],

… in carving [wood] in all [types] of workmanship. Behold, I have given [to assist him], Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. I have put wisdom in all the hearts of the wise [artisans], [so] they may make, all that I have commanded you for the: tabernacle of the congregation, the Ark of the Testimony and …

… the mercy seat that is [on it] & all the furniture of the tabernacle: the table & [its] furniture, the pure gold candlestick with all [its] furniture & [utensils], the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering with all [its] furniture & [utensils] & the [basin] & [its base] the [clothes] of service, the holy garments of Aaron, ...

… the priest & the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office & the anointing oil & sweet incense for the holy place. According to all I commanded you, they shall do. The Lord spoke to Moses saying: Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ...

… Surely you shall keep My Sabbaths, for it is a sign between Me & you throughout your generations, [so] you know I am the Lord who sanctifies you. You shall keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who defiles it shall surely be put to death; ...

… for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. Work shall be for 6 days, but the 7th is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. [Whoever] does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

[Therefore] the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations [as] a perpetual covenant [contract]. It is a sign between Me & the children of Israel forever; for in 6 days the Lord made the heavens & the earth & on the 7th day He rested & was refreshed.

And when He had made an end of [speaking] with him [Moses] on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses 2 tablets of theTestimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

The Israelites Corrupting Themselves by Making a Golden Calf as a god

Exodus 32:1-35            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

When the people [of Israel] saw that Moses had delayed to come down out of  the [mountain], [they] gathered [by] Aaron & said to him, Make us gods [idols], which shall go before us, [because] Moses, [who] brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we [don’t know] what [has] become of him.

Aaron said to  them, Break off the golden earrings of all in [their families] & bring them to me, [which they did]. [Aaron took the gold from them] & fashioned it with an [engraving] tool & after he had made a [molded] calf they said, These are your gods.

O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt. When Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it & [proclaimed] a feast to the Lord. They [the Israelites] rose early [the next day] & offered burnt offerings & brought peace offerings & the people sat down to eat & drink & rose up to play.

The Lord [God] said to Moses, Go, get down, for your people, [whom] you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They have quickly turned [away] from the way which I commanded them & have made [themselves] a [molded] calf & have worshiped it & sacrificed [to it] & said, These are your gods.

O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt. The Lord said to Moses, I have seen this people & behold, [it’s] a stiff-necked [stubborn] people. Therefore, let Me alone, [so] that My anger can [grow] hot against them & consume them. I will make of you [Moses] [a new] great nation.

Moses [pleaded] with the Lord God & asked Him, Lord, why does your [anger] wax hot against your people, which you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power & a mighty hand? [Why] should the Egyptians speak & say, He brought them [Israelites] out for mischief, to slay them in the mountains, to consume them from the face of the earth?

Turn from Your fierce wrath & [abandon this disaster] against your people.  Moses reminded the Lord about Abraham, Isaac & Israel, His servants to [whom] the Lord swore He would multiply [their descendants] like the stars in heaven & give them the land He had spoken of to their [descendants] to inherit forever.

The Lord [relented] from the harm He said He would do to His people [who were worshiping an idol.] Moses turned & went down the [mountain] with the 2 tablets of the Testimony in his hands [from the] Lord God whose writing was engraved on [both sides] of each tablet.

When Joshua heard the noise of the people [of Israel] shouting, he told Moses that it was the noise of war in the camp, [but realized] it was [singing as he got closer]. When they were [near] the camp he [Moses] saw the [gold] calf & the dancing & Moses’ anger [became] hot & he cast the tablets out of his hands & broke them at the [foot] of the [mountain].

Then [Moses] took the [gold] calf they had made & burned it in the fire & ground it to powder & he [scattered] it on the water & made the children of Israel drink it. Moses said to Aaron, What did this people do to you that you have brought so great a sin on them?

Aaron told Moses, [Don’t] let your anger [grow] hot, [since] they are set on mischief.  For they said to me, Make us gods [idols], which shall go before us, [because] Moses, [who] brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we [don’t know] what [has] become of him.

And I said to them, [Whoever] has any gold should break it off. So they gave it to me & I cast it [the gold] into the fire & this calf came out. When Moses saw the people were naked; (for Aaron let them get out of control & they were [ridiculed] among their enemies.)

Then Moses stood in the [entrance] of the camp & said, [Whoever] is on the Lord’s side- come to me.  All the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him & [Moses] said, Thus says the Lord God of Israel, Every man put his sword by his side & go in & out from [entrance to entrance] throughout the camp and...

… let every man [kill] his brother, companion & his neighbor [who chose to continue worshiping an idol instead of the Lord God of heaven]. The children of Levi did according to the word of Moses & about 3,000 men fell that day. Then Moses said, Consecrate yourselves & your sons & brothers, so [the Lord] may [give] you a blessing this day.

Moses said to the people the next day that they had committed a great sin & he was going up to the Lord to see if he [Moses] could make an atonement for [their] sin. When Moses returned to the Lord he said, Oh, this people have [committed] a great sin & have made for them a god of gold.

If you will  forgive their sins- but if not, blot me out of Your book You have written. The Lord said to Moses, [Whoever] has sinned against Me, I will blot Him out of My book. Therefore go now & lead [the Israelites] to the place I have spoken to you.

Behold, My Angel shall go before you & [still] in the day when I visit [to punish them, I will also punish them for their prior sins]. [So] the Lord plagued the people, because [of] the calf [idol] that Aaron made.

The Lord Shows Moses His Glory

Exodus 33:1-23            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord said to Moses, Depart & go up with the people [Israelites] he had brought out of the land of Egypt, to [go to] the land I [the Lord God] swore to Abraham, Isaac & Jacob saying, I will give it to your [descendents].

I will send an Angel before you & I will drive out the Canaanite, Amorite, Hittite, Perizzite, Hivite & the Jebusite, to a land flowing with milk & honey; for I will not go up in [your] midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked [stubborn] people.

The people mourned when they heard this & no one put on his ornaments, because the Lord said to Moses, Say to the children of Israel, You are a stiff-necked [stubborn] people & I will come up into your midst in a moment & consume you.

Therefore, [take] off your ornaments, that I may know what to do to you. The children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by Mount Horeb. Moses took the tabernacle & pitched it [outside] the camp, far from it & called it the Tabernacle of the congregation.

It came to pass, everyone [who] sought the Lord went out to the tabernacle of the congregation [outside] the camp. The people would [rise] & stand in their tent door whenever Moses went into the tabernacle [until he was inside it.]

When Moses entered the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended & stood at the door of the tabernacle & the Lord talked with Moses. All the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door & all the people rose & [they each] worshiped in [their] tent door.

The Lord [spoke] face to face with Moses, [like] a man speaks to his friend. [Moses] returned to camp, but his servant, Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, [didn’t] depart [from] the tabernacle.

Moses said to the Lord, You said to me, Bring up this people, but you have not let me know [whom] you will send with me. Yet you say, I know you by name & you have found grace in My sight.

Therefore, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me Your way now, that I may know You & I may find grace in Your sight & consider that this nation is Your people. [The Lord God] said to [Moses], My Presence will go with you & I will give you rest.

[Moses] said, [If Your presence doesn’t go up with us, don’t send us up from here]. [How] shall  it be known that Your people & I have found grace in Your sight? If You [don’t] go with us, [what will] separate us from all the other ple on the face of the earth?

The Lord said to Moses, I will also do this thing that you have spoken, [because] you have found grace in My sight & I know you by name. Moses asked the Lord to show him His glory & the Lord said, I will make all My goodness pass before you & I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you.

I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious & I will have  compassion on whom I will have compassion & I will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. The [Lord] said, You [cannot] see My face; for no man shall see Me & live. The Lord said, Behold, there is a place by Me & you shall stand on a rock.

[It shall be], while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the [cleft] of the rock & will cover you with My hand while I pass by. [Then] I will take away My hand & you will see My back parts, but My face shall not be seen.

God Writes on 2 New Tablets of Stone

Exodus 34:1-35            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord said to Moses, [Cut] 2 [tablets] of stone like the 1st [ones] & I will write [on these] the words like the 1st [tablets] which you [Moses] [broke] [when he found the Israelites worshiping a gold calf Aaron made while he was on the mountain 40 days with God].

Be ready in the morning & come up into Mount Sinai & present yourself to Me [the Lord God] on the top of the mountain. No man shall come with you or be seen throughout the mountain & no flocks nor herds should feed before the mountain.

Moses [cut] 2 [new tablets] of stone like the 1st [ones] & went early up Mount Sinai with [them], as the Lord commanded. The Lord descended in the cloud & passed before [Moses] as he stood with there & proclaimed the name of the Lord:

The Lord, the Lord God, merciful & gracious, long suffering & abundant in goodness & truth, keeping mercy for 1,000’s, forgiving iniquity, transgression & sin by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children & the children’s children to the 3rd & 4th generation.

Moses [quickly] bowed his head toward the earth & worshiped [the Lord God] & said, If I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, I pray, let My Lord go among us, for it is a stiff-necked [stubborn] people & pardon our iniquity & take us for Your inheritance.

[The Lord] said, Behold, I make a covenant [contract] before all your people & I will do marvels [which] haven’t been done in all the earth, nor in any nation & all the people [around them] shall see the work of the Lord: forit is a terrible [& awesome] thing I will do with you.

Observe what I command you [today]. Behold, I am driving out before you the: Canaanite, Hittite, Amorite, Perrezite, Hivite & Jebusite. [Pay attention] lest you make a covenant [contract] with the inhabitants of the land where you [are going], lest it [become] a snare in [your] midst.

You shall destroy their altars & cut down their groves & break their images [false gods, because] you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Lest you make a covenant [contract] with the inhabitants of the land & they [act like a harlot, unfaithful to the Lord God] & going after their gods & [sacrificing] to their [false] gods & one invites you & you eat of his sacrifices;

And you take of their daughters [to be]  your sons’ [wives] & their daughters [act like the harlot, unfaithful to the Lord God, going] after their gods & make your sons [act like the harlot & be unfaithful to the Lord God & worship] their gods. You shall make no molded gods [idols] for [yourselves].

You shall [continue] to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread & you shall eat unleavened bread for 7 days in the month of Abib. For in the month of Abib you came out [of] Egypt.

All that open the womb are Mine, every firstborn male [of] your [livestock]: ox or sheep, but the firstborn [donkey] you shall redeem with a lamb, but if you don’t redeem [the donkey] you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem & none shall appear before Me empty [handed].

6 days you shall work, but on the 7th day you rest in [plowing] & harvest time. You shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the firstfruits of the wheat harvest & the Feast of Ingathering at the year’s end. 3 times a year all your [men] shall appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel.

For I will cast out the nations before you & enlarge your borders & if you go before the Lord your God 3 times a year, neither will any man desire your land. You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leaven [with yeast], neither shall the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover [meat] be left until morning.

You shall bring the firstfruits of your land to the house of the Lord your God & you shall not [boil] a kid goat in its mother’s milk. The Lord said to Moses, Write these [instructions], for they [represent the terms of the covenant [contract] I [the Lord God] am [making] with you & with Israel.

[Moses] was with the Lord 40 days & nights & He [the Lord God] wrote on the [tablets] the words of the covenant [contract], the 10 Commandments & Moses neither ate bread nor drank water [during that time].

Moses had the 2 tablets of the Testimony in his hand & when he came down from [Mount Sinai], Moses [didn’t know] that the skin of his face shone [glowed] while he talked with Him [the Lord God]. When Aaron & all the children of Israel saw Moses & his face shone, they were afraid to come near him.

Moses called to them & Aaron & all the rulers of the congregation returned to him & Moses talked with them. Afterwards, the children of Israel came near. Moses gave them the commandments [of] all the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai & when [he finished] speaking with them, he [Moses] put a veil on his face.

Moses took off his veil when he went before the Lord to speak with Him. And [Moses] came out & spoke to the children of Israel what he was commanded. [Whenever] the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shown, Moses would put the veil on his face again, until the [next time] he went to speak with Him [the Lord God].

Offerings of Materials to be Used for the Tabernacle

Exodus 35:1-35            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Then Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel [Israelites] together & said to them, These are the words which the Lord has commanded that you should do them.

[Work shall be done 6 days, but the 7th day is a holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord. Whoever] does [any] work [on it] [the Sabbath] shall be put to death.

You shall not kindle a fire throughout your [dwellings] on the Sabbath day.

Moses told the [Israelites, saying, This is the thing which the Lord commanded, saying, [Whoever] is of a willing heart, let him bring an offering to the Lord [to be used in the tabernacle] of: gold, silver, brass; blue, purple & scarlet [thread];

… fine linen & goat’s hair, ram skins dyed red & badger skins; shittim wood, oil for the light & spices for the anointing oil & for the sweet incense; onyx stones & stones to be set in the ephod [decorative vestment for the high priest] & in the breastplate.

Every [skilled] artisan among you shall come & make all that the Lord has commanded: the tabernacle, [its] tent, covering, [clasps], boards, bars, pillars, sockets, the ark & [its] [poles], with the mercy seat & the veil of the covering, the table & [its] [poles], all [its] vessels [utensils] & the showbread;

… also the candlestick for the light & [its] furniture [utensils], [its] lamps & the oil for the light, the incense altar, [its] [poles], the anointing oil, the sweet incense & the hanging [screen] for the door at the entrance of the tabernacle; the altar of burnt offering with [its] brass grate, [its] [poles] …

… and all [its] vessels [utensils] & the laver [basin] & [base]; the hanging of the court, [its] pillars, their sockets & the hanging [screen] for the door [gate] of the court; the [pegs] of the tabernacle, the [pegs] of the courts & their cords; …

… the [clothing] of service for [ministering] in a holy place, the holy garments for Aaron, the priest & the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office. All the congregation of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.

Everyone whose heart stirred him & had a willing spirit, brought the Lord’s offering to [do] the work of the tabernacle of the congregation & for all His service & for the holy garments.

Both men & women came, as many as had a willing heart & brought bracelets, earrings, rings, rings & necklaces, all [jewelry] of gold & [scent bottles]. [Everyone who had these] brought: blue, purple & scarlet [thread], fine linen & goat’s hair, red skins of rams & badger skins.

[Those who had these items &] offered the Lord’s offering brought silver & brass & shittim wood for any work of the service. The women [who] were [skilled] artisans [spun] with their hands & brought what they had spun: blue, purple, scarlet & fine linen.

All the women whose hearts were stirred with wisdom [from the Lord] spun [yarn] of goat’s hair. The rulers brought onyx stones & stones to be set in the ephod & the breastplate & spice & oil for the light, for the anointing oil & for sweet incense.

The children of Israel brought a willing offering to the Lord, every man & woman whose hearts were willing to bring [materials] for all [kinds] of work which the Lord, by the hand of Moses commanded to be done.

Moses said to [Israelites], See, the Lord has called Bezaleel, the son of Uri, [who] is the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah & He [the Lord God] has filled him [Bezaleel] with the Spirit of God, in wisdom & understanding, in knowledge …

… and all [types] of workmanship to [design] [artistic] works, to work in gold, silver & brass, in cutting stones, to set them & in carving wood & to make any manner of [artistic] workmanship. He [the Lord God] has put in his [Bezaleel’s] heart to teach & also in Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.

He [the Lord God] has filled them with wisdom of heart [skill], to [make] all manner of work of the engraver & [designer] & the embroiderer, in blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & fine linen & of the weaver, even those who do every work & those who [design] artistic works.

Making the Things for the Tabernacle According to the Lord’s Intelligent Design

Exodus 36:1-38            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Moses called Bezaleel, Aholiab & every [skilled] artisan, in whom the Lord God put wisdom & understanding to know how to do all [types] of work for the service of the sanctuary, as the Lord had commanded.

They received [from] Moses all the [freewill] offerings which the children of Israel [Israelites] had brought for the work of [making] the sanctuary & they [continued] to [bring them] every morning.

The [skilled] men who [were doing] all the work of the sanctuary, left his work & came & [spoke] to Moses, saying, The people [have brought] much more than enough [items] [to do] the work which the Lord has commanded to [be made].

Moses proclaimed throughout the camp [that the materials brought from the offering were sufficient for all the work to be done] & was too much & the people were restrained from bringing [any more].

Every [skilled] artisan among them [who worked] on the tabernacle made 10 curtains 28x4 cubits each of fine [woven] linen & purple, blue & scarlet [thread] with cherubim [angels] of [skillful] work. Each of 2 sets of 5 curtains were coupled to one another & the loops held one curtain to another.

50 loops of blue yarn were made on the selvedge edge of 1 set of 5 curtains & 50 loops on the [outer] edge of the other set of 5 curtains. 50 [clasps] of gold were made which coupled [each set of 5 curtains to the other set of curtains] that it might be one tabernacle.

He made 11 curtains 30x4 cubits of goats’ hair for the tent over the tabernacle. He coupled 5 curtains together & made 50 loops on the [outermost] edge of 1 set of curtains & coupled the other 6 curtains together.

He put 50 loops on the edge of the 2nd set of curtains & coupled both sets together with the 50 brass [clasps] he made to couple the tent together, so that it might be one. Then he made a covering for the tent made of ram’s skins dyed red & a covering above that made of badger skins.

For the tabernacle, he made [upright] boards of shittim wood 10x1½ cubits & each board had 2 tenons for binding one to another. He made 20 boards for the south side & 20 for the north side of the tabernacle & 40 sockets of silver for each side for the 2 tenons underneath [each of] the boards.

He made 6 more boards for the west side. He made 2 boards for the 2 back corners of the tabernacle & they were coupled together at the top & the [bottom] by one ring for the 2 corners. So there were 8  boards and their sockets were 16 sockets of silver- 2 sockets under each board.

He made 5 bars of shittim wood for the boards for each of the 3 sides of the tabernacle. He made the middle bar pass through the boards from one end to another. He overlaid all the boards & bars with gold & made their rings of gold to be a [holder] for the bars.

He made a veil of blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & fine [woven] linen with an [artistic] work of cherubim [angels]. For it, he made 4 pillars of shittim wood & overlaid them with gold with hooks of gold.

He cast 4 sockets of silver for them. He also made a hanging [screen] for the tabernacle door of blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & fine [woven] linen & needlework. The 5 pillars of it with their hooks, he overlaid their [capitals] & their [bands] with gold, but their 5 sockets were brass.

Making the Ark of the Lord for the Tabernacle According to the Lord’s Plan

Exodus 37:1-29            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

Bezaleel made the ark of shittim wood 2½ x1½ x1½ cubits. He overlaid it inside & outside with pure gold & made a crown [molding] of gold all around it & he cast 4 gold rings, 2 for the 2 corners on 1 side & 2 for the other side.

He made [poles] of shittim wood & overlaid them with gold & put the [poles] into the rings, but the side of the ark to [carry] the ark. He made a mercy seat of pure gold 2½ x 1½ cubits & made 2 cherubim [angels] of beaten gold that were to be 1 piece with the mercy seat & went on [either] end of the mercy seat.

The cherubim [of the mercy seat] spread out their wings above & covered the mercy seat with their wings. They faced one another & their faces were toward the mercy seat. He made the table of shittim wood 2x1x1½ cubits & overlaid it with pure gold & made a crown [molding] of gold all around it.

Also, he made a [frame] of a hand breadth [all] around it & made a [molding] of gold for the [frame] all around it. He cast 4 rings of gold & put them on the corners that were [its] 4 [legs]. The rings were close to the [frame] as [holders] for the [poles] to bear the table & made those [poles] of shittim wood & overlaid them with gold.

He made vessels [utensils] which were on the table, dishes, cups, bowls, spoons & pitchers for pouring that [go on] the table of pure gold & their covers. He also made the lampstand of pure gold of [hammered] work & [its] shaft, branches, bowls, [its] [decorative knobs] & [its] flowers were [all] of [one] piece.

6 branches came out of [its] sides, 3 [of those] branches on [opposite] sides. There were 3 bowls made like almond [blossoms] with a [decorative knob] & flower made for both sides of the branches going out of the candlestick.

[On] the candlestick were 4 bowls made like almond [blossoms], each with [its] [decorative knob] & flower. There was a knob under the 1st 2 branches of the same, a [knob] under the 2nd 2 branches of the same & a [knob] under the 3rd 2 branches of the same, according to the 6 branches extending from it [candlestick].

The [knobs] & branches were all of 1 piece of pure [hammered] gold. He made [its] 7 lamps, [its] snufferes & [its] snuffdishes of pure gold. Of a talent of pure gold he made it with all [its] vessels [utensils]. He made the square incense altar of shittim wood 1x1x2 cubits.

Its horns were of 1 piece with it & he overlaid all of it with pure gold & made gold crown [molding] around all of it. He made 2 rings of gold by [its] 2 [sides] under the [molding] as holders for the [poles] to [carry] it.

The [poles] were made of shittim wood overlaid with gold. He also made the holy anointing oil & the pure incense of sweet spices, according to the work of the [person who makes compounds].

Making the Bronze Altar According to the Lord’s Intelligent Design

Exodus 38:1-31            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

He [the artisan] made the square altar [for the] burnt offerings of shittim wood 5x5x3 cubits. He made 4 horns, 1 for each corner which were of 1 piece [with the altar] & he overlaid it with brass. He made the vessels [utensils] for the altar: the pans, shovels, basins, flesh hooks [forks], firepans; all made of brass.

He made a grate of brass network for the altar, under [its] rim, midway from the bottom. He cast 4 rings for the 4 corners of the brass grating as holders for the [poles] that he made of shittim wood & overlaid them with brass. Then he put the [poles] into the rings on the side of the altar to [carry] it.

He made the altar hollow with boards. He made the [basin] & [its base] of brass, from the brass [mirrors] of the women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. He made of fine [woven] linen hangings 100 cubits long of fine [woven] linen for both the north & south sides of the court.

Each of those 2 sides had 20 pillars for them & the hooks of the pillars & [its] [bands] were silver. The east & west sides each had hangings of 50 cubits with 10 pillars & 10 sockets. The hooks of the pillars & their [bands] were of silver.

The hangings for each of the sides of the court gate were 15 cubits with their 3 pillars & 3 sockets. The sockets for the pillars & their [bands] were silver & [its] [capitals] & the [bands] of the pillars were overlaid with silver.

The hanging [screen] for the gate of the court was of blue, purple & scarlet thread & of fine [woven] linen 20x5 cubits, corresponding to the hangings of the court & there were 4 sockets of brass, their hooks, [capitals] & band were overlaid with silver.

All the [pegs] of the tabernacle & the court all around were brass. This [inventory] of the tabernacle of the Testimony was counted by the Levites according to the commandment of Moses for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, Aaron’s son, who was the priest.

Bezaleel, son of Uri, [who] was the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord had commanded Moses. And with him, Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver & designer, a embroiderer of blue, purple & scarlet thread & of fine linen.

All the gold offering that was [used] in the work of the holy place was 29 talents & 730 shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

The silver [from those who] were numbered of the congregation was 100 talents & 1,775 shekels, [according to] the shekel of the sanctuary [which was from] everyone from 20 years old & above of 603,550 men [who gave] a bekah each which is ½ a shekel, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

From 100 talents of silver were cast the 100 sockets of the sanctuary & the bases of the veil. 1 talent of silver was used for each socket. From the 1,775 shekels he made hooks for the pillars & overlaid the hooks & [capitals with silver] & made [silver] [bands] for them.

The offering of brass was 70 talents & 2,400 shekels [which were used to make] the sockets for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, the brass altar, the brass grating for it & all the vessels [utensils] for the altar & the sockets for the court all around, the bases for the cout gate & all the [pegs] for [both] the tabernacle & the court [all around].

Assembling the Garments for the Priests According to the Lord’s Design

Exodus 39:1-43            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

They made the clothes of service, for [ministering] in the holy place & made the holy garments for Aaron as the Lord commanded of blue, purple & scarlet [thread]. The ephod [decorative vestment of the high priest] was made of gold, blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & of fine [woven] linen.

They beat the gold into thin [sheets] & cut it into thin wires, to work it into with the blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & the fine linen with [skillful] work. They made shoulder [straps] for it that were coupled together at [its] 2 edges.

The intricately [woven] girdle of the ephod was of the same [workmanship] & was [woven] of gold, blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & of fine [woven] linen. They set onyx stones enclosed in [settings] of gold & they were [engraved] with the [12] names of the sons of Israel [like] signets are [engraved].

He put them on the shoulders of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel as the Lord commanded Moses. The breastplate was of [skillful] work [woven] like the workmanship of the ephod, of gold, blue, purple & scarlet [thread] & fine [woven] linen.

The breastplate was doubled & was a square 1x1 span when doubled. In it, they set 4 rows of stones enclosed in [settings] of gold in the mountings. The 1st row was: a [ruby], topaz & [red garnet]. The 2nd row: an emerald, sapphire & a diamond.

The 3rd row: a [jacinth], agate & amethyst. The 4th row: a [crystal], onyx & jasper. [Each of the 12 stones was [engraved] with a different name of the 12 sons] of Israel [a.k.a. Jacob], according to the 12 tribes. They made pure gold for the ends of the breastplate like braided [cord].

They also made 2 [settings] of gold & 2 gold rings & put the 2 braided chains of gold in the 2 rings on the end of the breastplate & fastned the ends of the 2 braided chains in the 2 [settings] & put them on the shoulder [straps] of the front of the ephod.

They also made 2 rings of gold & put them on the 2 ends on the inward side of the ephod. They made 2 other gold rings & put them on the 2 shoulder [straps] underneath the ephod toward [its] front, right at the seam above the intricately [woven] girdle of the ephod.

They bound the breastplate by [means] of [its] rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue [cord], so that it would be above the intricately [woven] band of the ephod & that the breastplate would not come loose from the ephod.

He made the robe of the ephod all of blue [woven] work & there was an [opening] in the middle of the robe, like the [opening] in a coat of mail, with a [woven binding] all around the opening, so that it [wouldn’t tear].

On the hem of the robe they [alternated] pomegranates of blue, purple & scarlet & fine [woven] linen & bells made of pure gold in between the pomegranates [in a pattern] all around the robe to minister in.

They made artistically [woven] coats of fine linen for Aaron & his sons & a [turban] of fine linen & [decorated] hats of fine linen & short [trousers] of fine [woven] linen [as an undergarment beneath the robes] & a sash of fine [woven] linen with blue, purple & scarlet [thread] of needlework, as the Lord commanded Moses.

They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold & wrote an [inscription] on it like the engraving of a signet [that said]: HOLINESS TO THE LORD. They tied to it a blue [cord] to fasten it above the [turban]; as the Lord commanded Moses.

Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation was finished & the children of Israel did according to all the Lord had commanded Moses; so they did.

They brought to Moses the tabernacle, the tent & all [its] [furnishings]: [its] [clasps], boards, bars, pillars & [its] sockets; the covering of ram skins dyed red, the covering of badger skins & the veil of covering; the ark of the Testimony with [its] poles & mercy seat; the table, all [its] vessels [utensils] …

… and the show bread; the pure gold candlestick with [its] lamps (lamps set in order), all [its] vessels [utensils] & the oil for the light; the golden altar, the anointing oil & the sweet incense; the hanging [screen] for the tabernacle door; the brass altar, [its] grate of brass, [its] poles & all [its] vessels [utensils]; …

…the [basin] & its [base]; the hangings of the court, [its] pillars & sockets, the hanging [screen] for the court gate. [Its] [cords] & [its pegs]; all the vessels [utensils] for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation, …

The [clothes] of the service to [minister] in the holy place, the holy garments of Aaron, the priest & his sons’ garments, to minister in the priest’s office. According to all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. Moses looked [over] all the work & behold, they had done it; as the Lord commanded & Moses blessed them.

Putting the Tabernacle of the Lord Together According to the Lord’s Plan

Exodus 40:1-37            The Second Book of Moses Called Exodus

The Lord said to Moses: On the 1st day of the 1st month you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. You shall put the Ark of the Testimony [in it] & cover the Ark with a veil & bring in the table & set in order [on] it.

You shall bring in the candlestick & light [its] lamps. You shall set the altar of gold for the incense before the Ark of the Testimony & put up the hanging [screen] for the door of the tabernacle. Then you shall set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.

You shall set the [basin & its base] between the tent of the congregation & the altar & put water in it & set up the court [all around] & hang up the hanging [screen] at the court gate.

You shall take the anointing oil & anoint the tabernacle & all that is [in it] & shall hallow it & all [its] vessels [utensils] & it shall be holy. You shall anoint the altar of the burnt offering & all [its] vessels [utensils] & sanctify the altar. The altar shall be most holy.

You shall anoint the [basin] & [its base] & sanctify it. You shall bring Aaron & his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation & wash them with water. You shall put on Aaron the holy garments & anoint & sanctify him, [so] that he may minister to Me [the Lord God] in the priest’s office.

You shall bring his [Aaron’s] sons & clothe them with coats & you shall anoint them, as you [anointed] their father, that they may minister to Me in the priest’s office; for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.

Thus Moses did; according to all that the Lord commanded him & he did so. It came to pass in the 1st month of the 2nd year, on the 1st day of the month, that the tabernacle was [raised] up. So Moses [raised] up the tabernacle, fastened [its] sockets, set up [its] boards, put in [its] bars & raised up [its] pillars.

[Moses] spread [out] the tent over the tabernacle & put the covering of the tent [on top] of it, as the Lord commanded Moses. [Moses] put the Testimony into the Ark & [inserted] the [poles] through the rings of the Ark & put the mercy seat [on top] of the Ark.

He brought the Ark into the tabernacle & set up the veil of the covering & covered the Ark of the Testimony, as the Lord Commanded Moses. He put the table in the tent of the congregation on the north side of the tabernacle [outside] the veil.

He set the bread in order upon it before the Lord; as the Lord had commanded Moses. He put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table on the [south side]. He [lit] the lamps before the Lord; as the Lord commanded Moses.

He put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation [in front of] the veil & he burned sweet incense [on it], as the Lord had commanded Moses. He set up the hanging [screen] at the door of the tabernacle.

He put the altar of burnt offering at the door of the tabernacle, of the tent of the congregation & offered the burnt offering & meat offering; as the Lord commanded Moses.

He set the [basin] & [its base] between the tent of the congregation & the altar & put water there [for washing] & Moses, Aaron & his sons washed their hands & feet with water [there].

[Whenever] they went into the tabernacle of the congregation & when they came [near] the altar, they washed; as the Lord commanded Moses. He [raised] up the court [all around] the tabernacle & the altar & set up the hanging [screen] of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.

Then the cloud covered the tent of the congregation & the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Moses [wasn’t] able to enter the tent of the congregation, because the cloud [rested above it] & the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

[Whenever] the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they didn’t journey till the day that it was taken up.

For the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day & fire was [over it] by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
