Various Sins and Restitution |
Leviticus 6:1-30 The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus |
The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, If a [person] sins & [commits] a trespass against the Lord & lies to his neighbor [about what] was delivered for him to keep [for him,] or in [making contracts & pledges with fellow Israelites,] or [something] taken away by violence, or has deceived his neighbor, or [finding] what was lost & lies concerning it & swears falsely, in any of these [things a man does & sins in it.] |
Then it shall be, because he sinned & is guilty, that he shall restore what he [has stolen,] deceitfully gotten, or [what he kept of what was given to him [for safekeeping,] or the lost thing he found, or what he swore [about] falsely. |
He shall restore [its full value] & add 1/5 more to it & give it to [the person it belongs] to, [on] the day of his trespass offering. He shall bring his trespass offering to the Lord, [which is] a ram without blemish of the flock, with your estimation [of silver] as a trespass offering, [given] to the priest. The priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord & it shall be forgiven him for [any of his trespasses.] |
The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Command Aaron & his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: because of fire of the altar, burning it, on the altar all night [until] the morning. The priest shall put on his linen garment & linen [trousers underneath] on his flesh. [He] shall take up the ashes which the fire consumed of the burnt offering on the altar. And he shall put them beside the altar. |
He shall [take] off his [holy] garments & put on other [clothing] & carry the ashes [outside] the camp into a clean place. The fire on the altar shall not be put out & the priest shall burn wood on it every morning & lay the burnt offering in order upon it. He shall burn the fat of the Peace Offering [on it] & [the fire] shall never go out. |
This is the law of the [meat/grain] offering & [Aaron’s] son shall offer it before the Lord [in front of] the altar. [The priest] shall take [a] handful of the flour of the [meat/grain] offering & the oil [for it] & all the frankincense which is upon the [meat/grain] offering. [He] shall burn it on the altar for a sweet [aroma as] a memorial of it, to the Lord. |
[What’s left] shall be Aaron & his son’s to eat with unleavened bread. It shall be eaten in the Holy Place in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation & they shall eat it. It shall not be baked with leaven [yeast.] I have given it to [the priests] for their portion of My offerings made by fire. |
It is Most Holy, as is the sin offering & the trespass offering, [as well.] All the males of [Aaron’s] children shall eat it. It shall be a statute forever in your generations concerning the offerings of the Lord made by fire [that] everyone [who] touches them shall be holy. |
The Lord [spoke] to Moses saying, This is the offering [for] Aaron & his sons [that] they shall offer to the Lord on the day when he is anointed. 1/10 of an ephah of fine flour, for a perpetual [meat/grain] offering: 1/2 in the morning & 1/2 at night. It shall be made with oil in a pan & when it is [baked,] you shall bring it in. |
The [baked] pieces of the [meat/grain] offering, you shall offer for a sweet [aroma] to the Lord. [Aaron’s] son [who] is anointed to [take his place] shall offer it. It is a statute forever to the Lord & it shall be [totally] burned & it shall not be eaten. |
The Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Speak to Aaron & his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering. In the place where the burnt offering [animal] is killed, the sin offering [animal] shall be killed [there] before the Lord: it is Most Holy. |
The priest [who] offers it for [the] sins,] shall eat it: in the Holy Place in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation, it shall be eaten [there.] [Whoever touches] the [flesh/meat of it] shall be holy. |
And when there is sprinkled blood upon any [holy] garment, you shall wash [what] was sprinkled in the Holy Place. The earthen [clay] vessel it is [boiled] in, shall be broken, but if it is [boiled] in a [brass] pot, it shall be both scoured & rinsed in water. |
All the males of the priest’s [family] shall eat of [it]: it is Most Holy. No sin offering, [with] the blood is brought into the tabernacle of the congregation to reconcile [sins,] in the Holy Place, shall be eaten. It shall be burnt in the fire. |
The Lord God had writing Books of the Bible [in Smaller Chunks] on my heart, for those in our busy world, with [smaller chunks of time]. More posts will be added when completed!
About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible:
About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:
Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV.
Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning.
For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.
The Table Format:
The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.
