Numbers 2:1-34 The Fourth Book of Moses Called Numbers |
The Lord [God spoke] to Moses & Aaron, saying, Every man of the children [people] of Israel shall pitch [his tent] by his own [banner] with [the insignia of] their father’s house, far [from] the tabernacle of the congregation, [around it.] |
On the east side, toward the [sunrise, those] of the [banner] of the camp of Judah, [shall camp] throughout their [armies.] Nahshon, [Amminadab’s] son, shall be the captain of the [family] of Judah. [Those who were counted] of [Judah’s army] were 74,600. |
Those [who] pitch [their tent] next to [Judah] shall be the [family] of Issachar. Nethaneel, [Zuar’s] son, shall be [the] captain. [Those who were counted] of [Issachar’s army] were 54,400. |
Then the [family] of Zebulun. Eliab, [Helon’s] son, shall be the captain of the [family] of Zebulun. [Those who were counted] of [Zebulun’s army] were 57,400. All [who] were [assigned to] the camp of Judah [& counted totaled] 186,400, throughout their armies. These shall [break camp & set out 1st.] |
On the south side [of the tabernacle those] of the [banner] of the camp of Reuben, [shall camp] according to their [armies.] Elizur, [Shedeur’s] son, shall be the captain of the [family] of Reuben. [Those who were counted] of [Reuben’s army] were 46,500. |
Those [who] pitch [their tent] by [Reuben] shall be the [family] of Simeon. Shelumiel, [Zurishaddai’s] son, shall be the captain. [Those who were counted] of [Simeon’s army] were 59,300. |
Then, the [family] of Gad. Eliasaph, [Reuel’s a.k.a Deuel’s] son, shall be the captain of the [family] of Gad. [Those who were counted] of [Gad’s army] were 45,650. All [who] were [assigned to] the camp of Reuben [& counted totaled] 151,450, throughout their armies. They will set out [2nd.] |
Then, the tabernacle of the congregation shall set forward with the camp of the Levites in the [middle] of the camp. Every man shall set [out] in his place, by their [banners.] |
On the west side [those] of the [banner] of the camp of Ephraim, [shall camp] according to their [armies.] Elishama, [Ammihud’s] son, shall be the captain of the [family] of Ephraim. [Those who were counted] of [Ephraim’s army] were 40,500. |
Those who [camp] by [Ephraim] shall be the [family] of Manasseh. Gamaliel, [Pedahzur’s] son, shall be the captain. [Those who were counted] of [Manasseh’s army] were 32,200. |
Then the [family] of Benjamin. Abidan, [Gideoni’s] son, shall be the captain of the [family] of Benjamin. [Those who were counted] of [Benjamin's army] were 35,400. All [who] were [assigned to] the camp of Ephraim [& counted totaled] 108,100 throughout their armies. They shall go forward in the 3rd rank. |
On the north side, [those] of the [banner] of the camp of Dan, shall pitch [their tents] according to their [armies.] Ahiezer, [Ammishaddai’s] son, shall be the captain of the [family] of Dan. [Those who were counted] of [Dan’s army] were 62,700. |
Those who [camp] by [Dan] shall be the [family] of Asher. Pagiel, the son of Ocran a.k.a. Okran, shall be the captain. [Those who were counted] of [Asher’s army] were 41,500. |
Then the [family] of Naphtali. Ahira, [Enan’s] son, shall be the captain of the [family] of Naphtali. [Those who were counted] of [Naphtali’s army] were 53,400. All [who] were [assigned to] the camp of Dan [& counted totaled] 157,600. [They shall break camp & go out last,] with their [banners.] |
These are those [who] were [counted] of the children [people] of Israel by their [father’s houses.] All those who were counted throughout their [armies] were 603,550. But the Levites [weren’t counted] among the [people] of Israel; as the Lord commanded Moses. |
The children [people] of Israel did according to all the Lord commanded Moses: so they pitched [their tents] by their [banners] & they set forward, everyone [according to] their families & the house of their fathers. |
