Hazael Asks Elisha if BenHadad, Syria's King will Recover |

Then, Elisha [spoke] to the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, you & your household go, & [stay wherever] you can, for the Lord [has] called for a famine that shall come upon the land [for] 7 years. |
And the woman arose, & did [according to what] the man of God [said.] [So,] she, & her household went with her, & [stayed] in the land of the Philistines [for] 7 years. And it [happened after] the 7 years, that the woman [left] out of the land of the Philistines, & returned. And she went to cry [out & appeal] to the king for her house & her land. |
And the king talked with Gehazi, the man of God's servant, saying, I pray [that] you tell me, all the great things that Elisha [has] done. |
And it [happened while Gehazi] was telling the king how [Elisha] had restored a dead body to life, that, [he] [saw,] the woman, whose son [Elisha] had restored to life, & [she came,] & cried [out] to the king [to appeal] for: her house & her land. |
And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, & this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life. When the king asked the woman, she told him. So, the king appointed [an] officer to her, & [said,] Restore all that was hers, & all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now. |
And Elisha came to Damascus; & BenHadad, [Syria's] king, was sick; & [the king] was told, The man of God [has] come [here.] The king said to Hazael, Take a present in your hand, & go meet [with Elisha,] the man of God, & [inquire] of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover [from] this disease? |
So, Hazael went to meet [Elisha,] & took a present with him, of: 40 camels [loaded] [with] every good thing [from] Damascus, & came & stood [in front of Elisha,] & said, Your son, BenHadad, [Syria's] king, [has] sent me to you, saying, Shall I recover [from] this disease? |
And Elisha said to him, Go, & say to [the king,] You [may] certainly recover, [however] the Lord [has shown] me that he shall surely die. And [Elisha focused steadily,] [at Hazael,] until he was ashamed; & the man of God wept. |
And Hazael [asked,] Why [do] you [weep,] my lord? And [Elisha] answered, Because I know the evil that you will do to the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel. You [will] set their strong holds, [a.k.a. fortified places,] on fire, & you will [strike down] their young men with the sword, & [will] dash their children, & rip [open] their [pregnant] women. |
And Hazael said, But what, [am I,] your servant, a dog, that he should do this [terrible] thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord [has shown] me that you [shall] be king over Syria. So, [Hazael left] from Elisha, & came to his master, who [asked] him, What [did] Elisha [say] to you? |
And [Hazael] answered, [Elisha] told me you [should] surely recover. It [happened the next day,] that [Hazael] took a thick cloth, & dipped it in water, & spread it [over the king's] face, so that he died. And Hazael [ruled] in his [place.] |
And in the 5th year of Joram, [a.k.a. Jehoram,] Ahab's son, [Israel's] king, & Jehoshaphat [was] then [Judah's] king, [that] Jehoram, [Jehoshaphat's] son, [Judah's] king, began to [rule] [over Judah.] |
[Jehoram, a.k.a. Joram,] [Jehoshaphat's son,] was 32 years old, when he began to [rule,] & he [ruled] 8 years in Jerusalem. And [Jehoram] walked, [a.k.a. followed,] in the ways of [Israel's] kings, as did the house of Ahab. For [Ahab's] daughter was [Jehoram's] wife. And [Jehoram] did evil in the sight of the Lord. |

[During Jehoram's] days, [a.k.a. life,] Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, & made a king over themselves. So, [Jehoram, a.k.a. Joram,] [Jehoshaphat's son,] & all the chariots with him went over to Zair. |
And [Jehoram] rose [up] [at] night, & [attacked] the Edomites, [that surrounded around] him. And the captains of the chariots, & the people fled into their tents. Edom [still revolts] from under the hand of Judah [until] this day. Then, Libnah revolted at the same time. |

In the 12th year [Joram, Ahab's] son, [Israel's] king [ruled,] Ahaziah, the son of [Jehoram, Judah's] king, [began] to [rule] [in Judah.] Ahaziah was 22 years old when he began to [rule,] & he [ruled] 1 year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri, [Israel's] king. |
And [Ahaizah] walked, [a.k.a. followed,] in the [ways] of the house of Ahab, & did evil in the sight of the Lord, as did the house of Ahab. For [Ahaziah] was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab. |
And [Ahaziah,] [Judah's king,] went with Joram, [Ahab's] son, [Israel's king, & also his uncle,] to the war against Hazael, [Syria's] king, in Ramoth Gilead; & the Syrians wounded Joram, [Israel's king.] |
And king Joram, [Israel's king,] went back to be healed in Jezreel, of the wounds [the Syrians] had given him at Ramah, when [Joram] fought against Hazael, [Syria's] king. And Ahaziah, son of [Jehoram, Judah's king,] went down [to] Jezreel, to see Joram, [Ahab's] son, [Israel's king,] because he was sick, [a.k.a. had been wounded.] |
