Psalm 71:1-24            Book# 2 of Psalms [in Smaller Chunks]

O Lord, I do put my trust in You. Let me never be put to [shame.] [Psalm 25:2-3 O my God, I trust in You. Let me not be ashamed, & [don't] let [my] enemies triumph over me. [Yes,] let none [who] wait on You be ashamed. Let [those] be ashamed [who] without cause [sin against] [You.]

In Your righteousness, deliver me, & [have] me escape [disaster.] [Lean] Your ear to [hear] me, & save me. You [will] be my strong [place to reside, that] I may continually [come to.]  You [have] given [commandments] to save me, for You [are] my Rock & my Fortress.

O my God, deliver me out of the hand of the wicked, & out of the hand of the unrighteous, & cruel man. From my youth [up,] You, O Lord God, [are] my hope, [in Whom] [I] trust.

You [are] He, [Who] took me out of my mother's [stomach.] From the womb, I have been [upheld, a.k.a. supported,] by You. Continually, my praise shall be of You. I am a wonder to many, but You [are] my strong refuge. [Isaiah 8:18-19 *[Look,] the children whom the Lord has given me, & I are for signs & for wonders in Israel, from the Lord of Hosts, [Who dwells] in Zion.

And when they shall say to you, Seek to [those who] have familiar spirits, [a.k.a. speak to the dead,] & to wizards [who moan,] & mutter, Shouldn't people seek their God? For the Living, [not] to the dead?]

All the day, let my mouth be filled with Your praise & with honor [for] You. [Don't abandon] me when my strength [fails,] & [don't] cast me off in the time of old age.

For [My] enemies speak against Me, & [those who lie in] wait for My soul, [a.k.a. life,] take counsel together, saying, God [has abandoned] Him. [Pursue, & capture] him, for there [are] none to deliver, [a.k.a. save,] him.] [Matthew 26:3-4 Then the chief priests, scribes, & elders of the people assembled together, to the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, & consulted [so] that they might take Jesus by [trickery,] to kill Him.]

O God, [don't] be far from Me. O my God, [hurry] for My help. Let [those who] are [enemies] to My [life,] be [confused, & destroyed.] Let [those who] seek My [harm] be covered with [disgrace,] & dishonor.

[Mark 15:29-32 *And [those who] passed by [expressed disapproval of] Him, wagging their heads, & saying, Ah, You, [Who destroys] the temple, & [rebuilds] it in 3 days, save Yourself, & come down from the cross. Likewise, also the chief priests mocking, said among themselves with the scribes, He's saved others, & He can't save Himself. Let Christ the King of Israel now descend from the cross, [so] that we may see & believe. And [those who] were crucified with Him, [slandered] Him.]

But I will continually praise You, & will [still] hope more & more. My mouth shall [declare] Your [unlimited] righteousness, & Your Salvation all day [long.] [Psalm 98:2-3 The Lord [has] made known His Salvation. He [has] openly [demonstrated] His righteousness in the sight of the heathen.

He [has] remembered His mercy, & truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the Salvation of our God.]

I will mention Your righteousness, even only Yours. And I will go in the strength of the Lord God. You [have] taught me from my youth, O God, & [up until now,] I have declared Your wondrous works. [Psalm 105:38-41 Egypt was glad when they departed: For the fear of [the Israelites] fell upon them.

[The Lord God] spread a cloud for a covering; & fire to give light in the night. The people asked, & He brought quails, & satisfied them with bread, [a.k.a. manna, from] heaven. He opened the rock, & waters gushed out; & they ran in the dry places like a river.]

Now, when I'm old, & also grayheaded, O God, [don't abandon] me; until I have [declared] Your strength to this generation, & Your power to everyone [who] is to come. Very high is Your righteousness, O God, [Who] has also done great things.

O God, who is [similar] to You! [Psalm 35:10 All my bones shall say, Lord, who is [similar] to You, [Who delivers] the poor from him, [who] is too strong for him. [Yes,] the poor, & needy from him [who plunders] him?]

You, [Who] have [shown] Me [large, & serious] troubles, [shall bring Me to life] again, from the depths of the earth. [Mark 16:6-7 *And he said to them, [Don’t be afraid:] You seek Jesus of Nazareth, [Who] was crucified. He is risen. He isn’t here. [See,] the place where they laid Him. *But go [on] your way, & tell His disciples, & Peter, that He goes before you into Galilee. There you shall see Him, [like] He said to you.]

You shall comfort Me on every side, & increase My greatness, [a.k.a. significance.] [1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 For if we believe that Jesus died & rose  again, even so [those] [who] sleep, [a.k.a. died,] & also [believed,] in Jesus, God will bring with Him. For we say this to you [through] the Word of the Lord, [so] that we [who] are alive, & remain [until] the Lord [comes,] shall not prevent [those who] are asleep [from joining God in heaven.] For the Lord Himself, shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, & with the [trumpet blare] of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we [believers] [who] are alive & remain, shall be caught up together in the clouds, with [those] [who were dead,] to meet [up with] the Lord. [For this reason,] comfort one another with these Words.]

I will also praise You, even Your Truth, with the [lyre,] O my God. I will sing to You with the harp, O You Holy One of Israel. [John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I Am the Way, the Truth, & the Life. No man comes to the Father, [except] by Me.]

My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, & my soul, which You [have] redeemed, & My tongue, [a.k.a. mouth,] shall also talk of Your righteousness all day long. [1 Peter 1:18-19 [Since,] we know that we weren't redeemed with corruptible things [like] silver & gold, & from vain [conversations] received by tradition from your [forefathers,] But [but were redeemed] with the precious blood of Christ, [like] a lamb without blemish & without spot, [a.k.a. without sin.]

For [those who] seek My [harm,] are [confused,] for they are brought to shame. [Matthew 28:9-15 And as they, [the women,] went to tell His disciples, [looked,] & Jesus met them, saying, All hail, [a.k.a. Rejoice.] And they came & held Him by the feet, & worshiped Him. Then, Jesus said to them, [Don't] be afraid. Go tell My brethren [so] that they go into Galilee, & they shall see Me there. Now, when they were going, behold, some [guards went] into the city, & [declared] to the chief priests all the things that were done. And when they were assembled with the elders, & had [gotten advice,] they gave large [sums of] money to the soldiers. Saying, You say, His disciples came [at] night, & stole Him away while we slept. And if this [comes] to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, & [make] you secure, [a.k.a. safe.] So, they took the money, & did as they were taught. And this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.]
