Psalm 137:1-9 Book# 5 of Psalms [in Smaller Chunks] |
By the rivers of Babylon, we sat down there. [Yes,] we wept, when we remembered Zion. We [hung] our harps upon the willows in the midst of [Babylon.] For there, [those who] carried us away captive, required a song of us. |
And [those who starved] us required [cheerfulness from] us, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. [Psalm 79:1-3 O God, the heathen [have] come into Your inheritance. They have defiled Your Holy Temple & they have laid Jerusalem [in ruinous] heaps. |
They have given the dead bodies of Your servants to the [birds] of heaven to be meat & the flesh of Your saints to the [animals] of the earth. They have shed blood, like water [surrounding] Jerusalem & there was [no one] to bury them.] |
How shall we sing the Lord's song to a strange land? If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget [its ability to play the harp.] If I [don't] prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy & I don't remember You, let my tongue [cling] to the roof of my mouth. |
O Lord, remember Your children [people] of Edom, who said, [Make it bare & lay it flat,] even to [its] foundation, [on] the day Jerusalem [fell.] O daughter of Babylon, who [is] to be destroyed, happy shall He be, [Who] rewards you, [like] you have [done] to us. |
[Revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into 3 parts. And the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon [was remembered] before God, to give to her the cup of wine of the fierceness of His [fury.] |
Happy shall he be, [who] takes & dashes your little ones against the stones. |
