About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:

Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV. Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning. For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.

The Table Format:

The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.

Amos 5:1-27 Seek the Lord & You Shall Live

Seek the Lord & You Shall Live

Amos 5:1-27                        The Book of Amos [in Smaller Chunks]

O house of Israel, you, hear this Word, that] I take up against you, even [grieving.] The virgin of Israel [has] fallen & she shall no [longer] rise [up.]  She is [abandoned in] her land & there is [no one] to raise her up.

For the Lord God says [this;] The city that went out [to war] [with] 1,000, shall leave [with only] 100. And [those, who] went [out with] 100, shall leave [with only] 10, [remaining for] the house of Israel. For the Lord says [this;] to the house of Israel, You, seek Me, & you shall live.

[Isaiah 55:3 [Lean] your ear, & come to Me & hear, & your soul shall live. And I will make an everlasting covenant [contract] with you, even the sure mercies of David.]

But [don't] seek Beth El, nor enter into Gilgal. [1 Kings 14:28-30 [Upon which,] king [Jeroboam] [got advice,] & made 2 calves of gold, & said to [the Israelites,] It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem, [to sacrifice.]

[See,] your gods, O Israel, [that] brought you up, out of the land of Egypt. And he [put] the 1 in Beth El, [a.k.a. Beth Aven,] & he put the other in Dan. And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the 1, even to Dan.]

And [don't] pass into Beer Sheba; for [the house of] Gilgal, shall surely go into captivity. And Beth El shall come to [nothing.] [Hosea 10:5-6 The inhabitants of Samaria shall [be fearful,] because of the calves of Beth Aven, because it [has] departed from it.

For the people [there,] shall mourn over it & the priests [of it, who] rejoiced [about] it, for [its] glory. It shall also be carried to Assyria to king Jareb for a present & Ephraim shall receive shame, & Israel shall be ashamed of his own [advice.]

Seek the Lord & you shall live; lest He [breaks] out like a fire in the house of Joseph, & [devours] it, & there [is no one] to quench it, [a.k.a. put it out,] in Beth El. You, who turn [justice into] wormwood, & [abandons] righteousness in the earth. [Proverbs 5:4 But [in] her end, [she] is bitter [like] wormwood, sharp [like] a 2 edged sword.]

Seek Him, [Who] makes the 7 stars of Orion, & turns the shadow of death into the morning, & makes the day dark, with night. [Who] calls for the waters of the sea & pours them out upon the [surface] of the earth. The Lord is His Name.

[Psalm 104:19-21 He appointed the moon for seasons & the sun knows [its] going down. You make darkness, & it is night, [in which] all the beasts of the forest creep [out.] The young lions seek after their prey, & seek their meat from God.]

[Who] strengthens the [plundered] against the strong, so that the [plundered] shall come against the fortress. [Isaiah 17:3 Also, the fortress shall cease from Ephraim, & the kingdom from Damascus & the [rest] of Syria. They shall be [for] the glory of the children [people] of Israel, says the Lord of Hosts.]

They hate him, [who criticizes] in the gate, & they [loathe] him, [who] speaks uprightly, [a.k.a. honestly.] [Isaiah 29:20-21 For the terrible, [a.k.a. ruthless,] one is brought to [nothing & the scorner, [a.k.a. those who look down on others, are] consumed.

All, [who] watch for [sinfulness,] are cut off: that make a man an offender for [just] a word, & [lays] a [trap] for him, [who disapproves] in the gate, & [turns] aside the just, [a.k.a. honest,] for a thing, [that is] [nothing.]

Therefore, [since] you [trample] upon the poor, & you take burdens, [a.k.a. loads] of wheat from him, you have built houses of [cut] stone, but you shall not [live] in them. You have planted [nice] vineyards, but you shall not drink wine [from] them.

[Amos 2:6-7 The Lord says [this;] For 3 [sins] of Israel, & for 4, I won't [withdraw its] punishment; because they sold the righteous for silver, & the poor for a pair of shoes. [Those, who lust] after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, & turn aside, [a.k.a. lead astray,] the [path] of the [humble.] And a man & his father will [be intimate with] the same [maiden.]

For I know your [many] transgressions & your mighty sins. They afflict the just, they take a bribe, & they turn aside, [a.k.a. away,] the poor in the gate, from their [rights.] [Isaiah 1:23-24 Your princes are rebellious, & [are] companions of thieves. Everyone loves gifts, [a.k.a. bribes,] & follow after rewards.

They [don't] judge the fatherless, & neither does the [case] of the widow come to them. Therefore, the Lord, the Lord of Hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, says, Ah, I will [relieve Myself] of [My] adversaries & avenge [Myself] of [My] enemies.]

Therefore, the [wise] will keep [silent at] that time, for it is an evil time. [Amos 6:10 And a man's uncle shall [pick] him up, [with] [he, who] burns him, to bring the bones out of the house. And shall say to him, who] is by the [side] of the house, [Are] there [still anymore] with you? And he shall say, No. Then, he shall say, Hold your tongue. For we may not mention the Name of the Lord.]

Seek good, & not evil, [so] that you may live. And, so, the Lord, the God of Hosts, shall be with you, [like] you have spoken. [Micah 3:11 The [leaders of it] judge for reward, & [its] priests teach for [pay,] & the prophets [of it] divine for money, & [still] they will [rely] on the Lord, & say, Isn't the Lord among us? [No] evil can come upon us.]

Hate the evil & love the good. And [carry out justice] in the gate. It may be that the Lord God of Hosts will be gracious to the [rest] of Joseph. Therefore, the Lord, the God of Hosts, the Lord, says [this;] Wailing shall be in all streets; & they shall say in all the highways, Alas! Alas!

And they shall call the [farmers] to mourning & [those who] are skillful [mourners] to wailing. For I will pass through you, & in all vineyards shall be wailing, says the Lord.

[Exodus 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, & will smite the 1st born in the land of Egypt, both man & [animal;] & I will [carry out] judgment against all the gods of Egypt.] I Am the Lord.]

Woe, [a.k.a. distress,] to you, [who] desire the day of the Lord! To what [benefit] is it for you? The day of the Lord is darkness, & not light. [2 Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack, [a.k.a. slow, about] His promise, [like] some men [consider] slackness; but is [patient toward] us, & not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

*But the day of the Lord will come [like] a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with great noise, & the elements shall melt with fervent heat, & the earth, & also the works, [a.k.a. things made,] that are [in there,] shall be burned up.]

[It's] as if a man [fled] from a lion, & a bear met him. Or [a man] went into the house, & leaned his hand on the wall, & a serpent, [a.k.a. snake,] bit him. [Isaiah 24:17-18 Fear; the pit; & the [trap,] are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth. And it shall [happen,] that he who flees from the [sound] of the fear, shall fall into the pit.

And he, [who] comes up, out of the midst of the pit, shall be [captured] in the [trap.] For the windows from on high are open, & the foundations of the earth shake.]

Shouldn't the day of the Lord be darkness & not light? Even very dark, [with] no brightness in it? [Revelation 6:12 And I [saw] when He had opened the 6th seal, & [look,] there was a great earthquake; & the sun became black [like] sackcloth [made] of hair, & the moon became [like] blood.]

I hate & despise your feast days, & I will not smell [its aroma] in your solemn assemblies. [Isaiah 1:13-16 No [longer] bring vain, [a.k.a. worthless, offerings.] Incense is an abomination to Me. I can't [edure:] the New Moons; Sabbaths; & the calling of assemblies. It is [sinful,] even the solemn meeting.

My Soul hates your New Moons & your appointed feasts. They are [troublesome] to Me. I am [tired of putting up with] them. And I will hide My eyes from you, when you spread [out] your hands. [Yes,] when you make many prayers, I won't hear. Your hands are full of [bloodshed.]

[Although] you offer Me burnt offerings & I won't accept your meat/grain offerings. Neither will I [respect] the Peace Offerings of your [fattened animals.] [Isaiah 66:3 He [who] kills an ox, is [like] if he [killed] a man. He, [who] sacrifices a lamb, [like] if he [has] cut off a dog's neck.

He, [who] offers [a sacrifice, like] if he, [has] offered swine's blood. He, [who] burns incense, [like] if he blessed an idol. [Yes,] they have chosen their own ways, & their soul delights in their abominations.]

But let [justice rain] down [like] waters, & righteousness [like] a mighty stream. [Ezekiel 45:9 The Lord God says [this;] Let [these no longer satisfy] you, O princes of Israel. Remove violence & [plunder, & carry out] judgment & justice, & take away your exactions, [a.k.a. demands for money,] from My people, says the Lord God.]

[Haven't] you offered sacrifices & offerings to Me in the wilderness 40 years, O house of Israel? [Acts 7:41-43 And they made a calf in those days, & offered [sacrifices] to the idol & rejoiced in the works [made by] their own hands.

Then, God, turned] & gave them up to worship the [hosts] of heaven, [a.k.a. stars & constellations,] as it is written in the book of the prophets, O you house of Israel, [haven't] you offered slain [animals] & sacrifices to Me, [over] the space of 40 years in the wilderness?]

But you have [carried] the tabernacle of your: Moloch & Chiun, your images, & the star of your god, [that] you made [for] yourselves. [1 Kings 11:32-33 (But he shall have one tribe for My servant, David's sake, & for Jerusalem's sake, the city, [that] I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:) because they have [abandoned] Me.

And have worshiped: Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Zidonians, [a.k.a. Sidonians;] Chemosh, the god of the Moabites; & Milcom, the god of the children [people] of Ammon, & haven't [followed] in My ways, to do [what] is right in [My] eyes, & to keep My [mandates] & My judgments, [like] David, his father did.]

Therefore, I will cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, says the Lord, Whose Name Is The God of Hosts. [Amos 7:17 Therefore, the Lord says [this;] Your wife shall be an [unfaithful] harlot in the city, & your sons & daughters shall fall by the sword. And your land shall be divided by [a] line, & you shall die in a [defiled] land. And Israel shall surely go into captivity [from] his land.]
