About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:

Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV. Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning. For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.

The Table Format:

The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.

John 18:1-40 Jesus' Betrayal by Judas Iscariot

Jesus' Betrayal by Judas Iscariot

John 18:1-40          The Gospel According to John [in Smaller Chunks]

When Jesus had spoken these Words, He went [out] with His disciples, over the Brook Cedron, [a.k.a. Kidron,] where a garden was, into which [Jesus] & His disciples entered. [Mark 14:32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane. And [Jesus said] to His disciples, You, sit here, while I shall pray.

*And Judas, [who] also betrayed [Jesus,] knew the place, for Jesus [went there often] with His disciples. [Psalm 41:9 *[Yes,] My Own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, [who ate] of My bread, [has] lifted up his [heels] against Me.]

*Then, Judas, having received a [squad] of men & officers from the chief priests & Pharisees, [came there] with lanterns, torches, & weapons. [Psalm 22:12-13 *Many strong bulls have [surrounded around] Me. Strong bulls of Bashan have [attacked] Me. They gaped [at] Me, with their mouths [wide open,] [like] a [ravenous,] roaring lion.]

Therefore, Jesus knowing all things & [what] should [happen] [to] Him, went [out] & said to them, Whom [do] you seek? They answered Him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus [said] to them, I Am He.

And Judas, [who] betrayed [Jesus,] also stood with them. *Then, as soon as [Jesus] had said to them, I Am He, & they fell backward, to the ground. [Psalm 142:4 *I looked on My right hand [side,] & [saw,] but there was no man, [who] would [acknowledge] Me. Refuge failed Me; & no man cared for My soul, [a.k.a. life.]

Then, [Jesus] asked them again, Whom [do] you seek? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus answered, I have told you that I Am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go [on] their way. *[So] that the saying might be fulfilled, [that Jesus spoke,] I have lost none of [those, whom] You [gave] Me.

[John 17:12 *While I was with them in the world, I kept those in Your Name, [whom] You [gave] [to] Me. I have kept them, & none is lost, [except] the son of perdition, [a.k.a. son of destruction, so] that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

Then, Simon Peter, having a sword, drew It & [struck] the high priest's servant, & cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. Then, Jesus said to Peter, Put up your sword into the sheath. [This is:] the cup which My Father [has] given Me, shall I not drink it?

Then, the [Jews' squad,] captain, & officers took Jesus, bound Him, & led Him away. First, to Annas; for he was [the] father-in-law to Caiaphas, [who] was the high priest that same year.

Now, [it] was Caiaphas, [who] gave [advice] to the Jews, that it was expedient, [a.k.a. advantageous,] that One Man should die for the people. [John 11:49-51 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said to them, You know nothing at all. Nor [do you] consider, that it is expedient for us, that One Man should die for the people, & so that the whole nation [doesn't] perish. And he didn't [speak] this [about] himself: but being the high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation.]

And Simon Peter followed Jesus, & so did another disciple. That disciple was known to the high priest, & went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest. But Peter stood at the door [outside.] Then, that other disciple, [who] was known to the high priest, went out & [spoke] to her [who] kept the door, & brought Peter in.

Then, the damsel, [a.k.a. young lady, who] kept the door said to Peter, [Aren't] you also one of this Man's disciples? *[Peter] said, I am not. And the servants & officers who had made the fire [from] coals, stood there: [because] it was cold. And they warmed themselves: & Peter stood with them, & warmed himself.

Then, the high priest asked Jesus [about:] His disciples, & His doctrine, [a.k.a. teaching.] Jesus answered him, I [spoke] openly, [a.k.a. publicly,] to the world. I [always] taught in the synagogue, & in the temple, [where] the Jews always [go.] And I have said nothing in secret. Why [do] you [ask] Me? Ask [those, who] hear Me, what I have said to them. [See,] they know what I have said.

*And when [Jesus] had spoken [this,] one of the officers who stood [near] by, struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, [Do] You [answer] the high priest, [like this?] [Isaiah 50:5-6 *The Lord God has opened [My] ear, & I wasn't rebellious. Neither [did I] [turn] away [My] back. *I gave My back to the smiters, [a.k.a. those, who whip or hit,] & My cheeks to [those, who] plucked off the hair. I [didn't hide] My face from shame, & spitting.]

Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness, [a.k.a. testify,] of the evil: but [if I have spoken] well, why [do] you [strike] Me? Now, Annas sent [Jesus] bound to Caiaphas, the high priest.

And Simon Peter stood & warmed himself. Therefore, they said to [Peter,] [Aren't] you also one of His disciples? *[Peter,] denied it, & said, I am not.

One of the servants of the high priest, [who] [was] [a] [relative] [of] [him,] whose ear Peter cut off, [said,] Didn't I see you in the garden with Him? *Then, Peter denied again: & immediately the cock [crowed.] [Luke 22:34 *And [Jesus] said, I tell you, Peter, the cock, [a.k.a. rooster,] shall not crow this day, before you [shall] deny that you know Me [3 times.]

Then, they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Hall of Judgment. And it was early. And they, themselves, [didn't go] into the Judgment Hall, lest they should be defiled, [so] that they might [be able to] eat the Passover.

Then, Pilate went out to them, & said, What accusation [do] you [bring] against this Man? *They answered & said to [Pilate,] If He weren't a [criminal] we wouldn't have delivered Him up to you. [Psalm 27:12 *[Don't] deliver Me to the will of [My] enemies. For false witnesses [have] risen up against Me, & [those, who] breathe out cruelty.]

Then, Pilate said to them, You, take Him, & judge Him according to your Law. *Therefore, the Jews said to [Pilate,] It isn't lawful for us to put any Man to death. [So] that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, [that] He [spoke] signifying what [type of] death, He should die.

[Matthew 17:22-23 *And while they [stayed] in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of Man shall be betrayed into the hands of men. *And they shall kill Him, & the 3rd day, He shall be raised again. And they were [exceedingly] sorry.]

Then, Pilate entered into the Judgment Hall again, & called Jesus. And said to [Jesus, Are] You the King of the Jews? Jesus answered [Pilate,] [Did] you say this thing [on your own,] or did others tell you it of Me? Pilate answered [Jesus,] Am I a Jew? *Your Own nation, & the chief priests have delivered You to me. [Psalm 2:2-3 *The kings of the earth set, [a.k.a. appoint,] themselves. And the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, & against His Anointed, saying, Let us break Their bands [a.k.a. ties, to pieces,] & [throw] away Their cords from us.]

What [have] You done? Jesus answered, My Kingdom isn't of this world. If My Kingdom were of this world, then My servants would fight, [so] that I shouldn't be delivered to the Jews. *But now, My Kingdom isn't from [here.]

[John 3:16-17 *For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, [so] that [whoever believes] in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting Life. For God [didn't send] His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.]

Therefore, Pilate said to Him, Then, [are] You a king? Jesus answered, You say that I Am a King. I was born to this end, & for this [reason] I came into the world, [so] that I should bear witness, [a.k.a. testify] to the Truth. Everyone [who] is of the Truth, hears My voice. [John 14:6 Jesus [said] to him, I Am the Way, The Truth, & the Life. No man [comes] to the Father, [except] by Me.]

Pilate [said] to [jesus,] What is Truth? *And when [Pilate] had said this, he went out again to the Jews, & [said,] I find no fault in Him at all. [Isaiah 53:8 *He was taken from prison & from judgment, [a.k.a. justice,] & who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: & He was struck for the [sins] of My people.]

But you have a custom, that I should release to you one at the Passover. *Therefore, [do you want] that I release to you the King of the Jews. [Jeremiah 23:5-6 *[Look,] the days come, says the Lord, that I will raise to David a Righteous Branch, & a King shall [rule] & prosper, & shall [carryout] judgment & justice [on] the earth. *[During] His days, Judah shall be saved, & Israel shall dwell safely. And this is His Name [by which] He shall be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.]

*Then, they all cried [out] again, saying, Not this Man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. [Isaiah 53:5-6 *But He was wounded for our [sins.] He was bruised for our iniquities. The [discipline for] our peace was upon Him. And with His stripes, [a.k.a. whip marks,] we are healed. *All we like sheep, have gone astray. We have, everyone, turned to his own [ways.] And the Lord [has] laid on Him the [sin] of us all.]
