Jesus Christ is the Mediator for Us, Through a Better Covenant |
Hebrews 8:1-13 Paul's Epistle to the Hebrews [in Smaller Chunks] |
Now, this is the [total] [amount] of [what] we have spoken. We have [Jesus Christ, as] such [a] High Priest, Who is [put] on the right hand [side] of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. [Revelation 3:20-21 [Watch,] I stand at the door, & knock. If any man [hears] My voice, & [opens] the door, I will come in to him, & will [dine] with him, & he with Me. I will grant to him [who overcomes] to sit with me [on] My throne, even [like] I also overcame & Am [sitting] down with My Father [on] His throne.] |
A Minister [for] the Sanctuary, & [God's] True Tabernacle, [a.k.a. tent church,] which the Lord pitched, [a.k.a. put up,] & not man. [Revelation 21:2-4 And I, John, saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared [like] a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, [Look,] the tabernacle of God is with men. And He will dwell with them, & they shall be His people. And God, Himself, shall be with them, & be their God. *And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. And there shall no [longer] be: death; sorrow; nor crying. Neither shall there be anymore pain. For the [previous] things [have] passed away.] |
[Since] every high priest is ordained, [a.k.a. appointed,] to offer gifts & sacrifices. [For this reason,] it [was necessary] that this Man, [a.k.a. Jesus Christ,] also have [something] to offer. For if [Jesus] were on earth, He [wouldn't] be a priest, [since] that there are priests, [who] offer gifts according to the Law [of Moses.] |
[Those] who serve [as an] example, [foreshadowing about] heavenly things, [like] Moses, was [warned from] God, when he was about to make the tabernacle, [a.k.a. tent church in the wilderness.] For [God said,] See that you make all things according to the pattern [declared] to you in the Mount, [a.k.a. Mount Sinai, & Mount Horeb.] |
But now, [Jesus has] obtained, [a.k.a. received,] a more excellent ministry, which was established [by God,] upon better promises, & a better Covenant, [contract,] [through] [Jesus Christ,] [Who] is the Mediator. [1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is One God, & One Mediator between God & men, Christ Jesus, [Who was born to Mary as a] [Man.] Who gave Himself [as] a Ransom for all, to be testified in due time.] |
For if that 1st Covenant had been [without fault,] then [why would a] place have been sought for the 2nd [Covenant.] [Hebrews 10:9-10 Then, [Jesus Christ] said, [Look,] I come to do your will, O God. He, [Who] [takes] away the 1st [Covenant,] [so] that He may establish the 2nd [Covenant.] [Through this,] we are sanctified through the offering of Jesus [Christ's] body, once for all.] |
[But in] finding fault with them, He [said, Watch,] the days come, [says] the Lord, when I will make a new Covenant, [a.k.a. contract,] with the house of Judah. |
Not according to the Covenant that I made with their [forefathers, during] the [days] when I took them by the hand, to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they [didn't continue] [to follow] My Covenant, [& went astray.] |
And I [didn't regard, [a.k.a. respect] them, [says] the Lord. For this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, [says] the Lord. I will put My Laws into their [minds,] & write them [within] their hearts. |
And I will be a God to them, & they shall be a people to Me. And they shall [no longer] teach, every man his: neighbor, & brother, saying, Know the Lord. For all shall know Me, from the [powerless] to the [powerful.] |
For I will be merciful to their [wickedness,] & I will no [longer] remember their sins, & iniquities. In that [God said,] A New Covenant, [it is] He, [Who] [had] made the 1st [Covenant] old, [a.k.a. outdated.] Now, that which [decays] & [grows] old, is ready to vanish away, [a.k.a. disappear.] |
[2 Corinthians 5:17-19 Therefore, if any man [is] [a believer] in Christ, he is a new creature, [a.k.a. being,] & old things [have] passed away. [Look,] all things [have] become new. And all things are [from] God, Who [has] reconciled us to Himself, [through] Jesus Christ, & has given the ministry of reconciliation to us. [Especially,] that God was [within] Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing, [a.k.a. not holding them responsible,] [for] their trespasses, [a.k.a. sins,] & [has] committed, [a.k.a. appointed,] to us, [God's] Word of reconciliation.] |
