A Psalm of David, to the chief Musician on Neginoth [a.k.a. Nehiloth] |
Psalm 4:1-8 Book# 1 of Psalms [in Smaller Chunks] |
O God, when I call, hear of my righteousness. You have [relieved] me when I was in distress. Have mercy upon me, [O God] & hear my prayer. O you sons of men, how long will you turn my glory into shame? |
How long will you love [what is] vanity & seek after [what are falsehoods?] Selah. But know that the Lord has set apart him, [who] is godly for Himself. The Lord will hear when I call to Him. [2 Timothy 2:19 [Still,] the foundation of God stands [secure,] having His seal. The Lord knows [those who call on] the Name of Christ & depart from [sin.] |
Stand in awe [of the Lord God] & [don't] sin. Be still & [talk within] your own heart upon your bed. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness & put your trust in the Lord. |
There [are] many [who] say, Who will [show] us any good? Lord, lift up Your light of Your countenance upon us. [Psalm 80:3 [Return] us again, O God & cause Your face to shine & we shall be saved.] |
You have put gladness [within] my heart, more than in the time that their corn & wine [production] increased. I will both lay [myself] down in peace & sleep. For only You, Lord make me [live] in safety. |
