What the Lord has Jeremiah Tell Baruch, the Scribe |
Jeremiah 45:1-5 The Book of Jeremiah [in Smaller Chunks] |
[During] the 4th year of Jehoiakim, [Josiah's] son, [Judah's] king, [from] the [Words] Jeremiah, the prophet [spoke] to Baruch, [Neriah's] son, when he had written these words in a book [from] the mouth of Jeremiah, saying, The Lord, the God of Israel, says [this;] to you O Baruch. |
You [said,] Woe is me now! For the Lord has added grief to my sorrow. I fainted [from all] my sighing & I find no rest. You shall say, [this] to him, The Lord says [this, Look, what] I have built, I will break down & [what] I have planted, I will [pull] up, even this whole land. |
And [do] you seek great things for yourself? [Don't] seek them. For the Lord says, [Watch,] I will bring [adversity] upon all flesh, but I will give your life to you for a [prize] in all the places [where] you go. |
[Jeremiah 21:9 He, [who remains] in this city shall die by the sword, famine & pestilence. But he, [who] goes out & falls to the Chaldeans, [who attack] you, shall live & his life shall be to him, [as a prize.] |
