Israel Shall be Removed, Like Pieces of Lamb from a Lion's Mouth |
Amos 3:1-15 The Book of Amos [in Smaller Chunks] |
Hear this Word that the Lord has spoken against you, O children [people] of Israel. Against the whole family, [that] I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying, I have only known you, of all the family of the earth. Therefore, I will punish you for all your [sins.] |
[Psalm 106:34-39 They didn't destroy the nations, [about] whom the Lord commanded them. But were [mixed] among the heathen, & learned their works. And they served their idols: [that] were a snare to them. |
[Yes,] they sacrificed their sons & daughters to [demons,] & shed [the] blood [of the] innocent, even the blood of their sons & daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. And the land was [defiled] with [bloodshed.] [Like this,] they were defiled with their own works, & went [like unfaithful harlots] with their own inventions.] |
Can 2 walk together, [unless] they are agreed? Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? Will a young lion cry out [in] his den, if he [hasn't captured anything?] Can a bird fall into a snare upon the [ground,] where no [trap] is for him? |
Shall [someone] take up a [trap] from the [ground,] & [has caught] nothing at all? Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, & the people [aren't] afraid? Shall there be [calamity] in a city, & the Lord hasn't done it? Surely, the Lord God will do nothing, [unless] He [reveals] His secret to His servants, the prophets. |
The lion has roared & who wouldn't [be afraid?] The Lord God has spoken, Who can [help,] but [to] prophesy? [Declare] in the palaces [of] Ashdod, & in the palaces in the land of Egypt, & say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, & [watch] the [large chaos] & oppression in the midst [of it.] |
The Lord says, For they [don't] know to do [what is] right. [Those,] who store up [plunder from] violence & robbery in their palaces. [2 Kings 24:12-13 And Jehoiachin, [Judah's] king, went out to the king of Babylon, he; his: mother; servants; princes; & officers. And the king of Babylon, [captured] him in the 8th year [he ruled.] |
And he, [a.k.a. Nebuchadnezzar,] carried out [from there,] all the treasures of the [Lord's] house, & the treasures of the king's house, & cut in pieces all the vessels of gold [that] Solomon, [Israel's] king, had made, [like] the Lord had said, [for] the temple of the Lord.] |
The Lord God says [this;] Therefore, an [enemy] shall be there, even [all around] the land. And he shall bring down your strength from you, & your palaces shall be [plundered.] |
The Lord says [this; Like] the shepherd takes 2 legs, or a piece of an ear; out of the mouth of the lion; so shall the children [people] of Israel, [who] dwell in Samaria, be taken out, [from:] the corner of a bed, & [those] in Damascus, [from] a couch. |
The Lord God, the God of Hosts says, You hear [this] & testify in the house of Jacob, [a.k.a. Israel.] On that day that I shall visit, [a.k.a. punish,] the [sins] of Israel, upon him, I will also visit the altars of Beth El, [a.k.a. Beth Aven.] And the horns of the altar shall be cut off, & fall to the ground. |
[2 Kings 23:14-15 And he [broke] in pieces the images, & cut down the groves, & filled their places with the bones of men. [Also,] the altar that was at Beth El, & the high place [that] Jeroboam, [Nebat's] son, had made, who made Israel sin, he [broke] down, both that altar & the high place, & burned the high place & [stomped] it to small powder, & burned the grove.] |
And I will [strike] the winter house, [along] with the summer house, & the houses of ivory shall perish, & the [large] houses shall have an end, says the Lord. |
