On: Baptism, Laying on Hands, Resurrection of the Dead, & Eternal Judgment |
Hebrews 6:1-20 Paul's Epistle to the Hebrews [in Smaller Chunks] |
Therefore, leaving [the discussion about:] the principles of [Christ's] doctrine, [a.k.a. teaching,] let's go on to [discuss:] perfection. Not [reviewing] again the [basis] of repentance from dead works, [a.k.a. deeds.] [Hebrews 9:14 How much more [significant:] shall the blood of Christ [be,] Who through the Eternal [Holy] Spirit, offered Himself, without spot, [a.k.a. without sin,] to God, [to] purge, [a.k.a. cleanse,] your conscience from dead works, [a.k.a. unproductive deeds,] [in order] to serve the Living God?] |
And [about] faith [in Christ,] toward God. [Philippians 2:6-9 [Jesus Christ,] Who, being in the [image] of God, thought it [wasn't] robbery to be equal with God. But made Himself of no reputation, [a.k.a. lowly,] & took upon [Himself] the [image] of a servant, & was made in the likeness of men. And being found in the [image like] a man, [Jesus Christ] humbled Himself, & became obedient to death, even the death [on] the cross. [For this reason,] God [has] also highly exalted Him, & given Him a Name, which is above every name.] |
[About] the doctrine, [a.k.a. teachings,] of [baptism;] laying on hands; & the resurrection of the dead; & [about] eternal judgment. And we will do this, if God [permits, [a.k.a. allows.] |
For it is impossible for those [who had believed in Jesus Christ,] who were once enlightened, & have tasted of, [a.k.a. have experienced,] the heavenly gift, & were made [participants through] the Holy Ghost, [a.k.a. Holy Spirit,] & who have [experienced] the good Word of God, & the powers of the world to come, [to be led astray.] |
If they shall fall away [from their faith in Jesus Christ,] renew, [a.k.a. restore them,] [leading] them again to repentance, [because] they crucify the Son of God, [for] themselves [again,] & put [Christ] to public,] shame. |
For the earth [that drinks] in, the rain that [often comes] upon it, & [produced] herbs, [fit] for [those,] by whom it is [harvested,] & [receives blessings] from God. But [what produces] thorns & [stickers,] is rejected, & is [close] to [being cursed;] whose end is to be burned. |
But, we [say this,] beloved, we are persuaded, [a.k.a. expect,] better things [for] you, & things that accompany Salvation. For God isn't unrighteous, & [forgets] your work, [a.k.a. deeds,] & [labors] of love, which you have [demonstrated] toward the [Lord God's] saints you have ministers to, & [continue] to minister [to] in [God's] Name. |
And we desire that everyone of you, [also] [demonstrate] the same diligence, [a.k.a. effort,] ro [fully assure] the hope [of Salvation through believing in Jesus Christ as your Savior,] [until] the end. [So] that you [aren't lazy,] but followers of [those] who, through patience & [their] faith [in Jesus Christ,] inherit the [the Lord God's] promises. |
For when God [promised] Abraham, because He [couldn't] swear by [anything] greater, [God swore] by Himself. Saying, Surely [with] blessings, I will bless you, & [by] multiplying, I will multiply you. |
And so, after [Abraham] patiently endured, he obtained, [a.k.a. received,] the promise. For [truly] men swear an oath for confirmation of [ending] all strife, [a.k.a. wars,] by [the Lord God, Who is] Greater. |
[But] God, [is] more abundantly willing, [to demonstrate] to the heirs of the promise [of Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, & how] [immutable, [a.k.a. unchangeable, God's advice] [is,] confirmed it by an oath. |
That by 2 [unchangeable] things, in [that] it [is] impossible for God to lie. [So,] we, who have fled for refuge, might have strong consolation, [a.k.a. comfort,] to lay hold upon, [a.k.a. to embrace or grasp,] the hope [of Salvation] [put in front of] us. |
Which hope we have [for Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ,] as an anchor [for] the soul, both: sure, [a.k.a. secure,] & [steadfast, a.k.a. not changing.] [2 Timothy 3:15 And from a child, you [have] known the Holy Scriptures, [that] are able to make you wise, [and lead] to Salvation, through faith which is in Christ Jesus.] |
And which [we] [enter] into [what is] within the veil. [Where] the forerunner, [a.k.a. One, Who is sent,] for us entered, [inside the veil,] even Jesus, [Who is] made [a] High Priest [forever, according to] the order of Melchisedec, [a.k.a. Melchizedek.] [Hebrews 5:8-10 Although Jesus Christ is] a Son, [still] He learned obedience [through] the things, [that] He suffered. And being made perfect, [Jesus Christ,] became the Author of Eternal Salvation to all [those, who] obey Him; called [by] God, [a] High Priest, [according to] the order of Melchisedec.] |
